I love my trips and gives me pleasure to share whatever experiences I'm blessed to have. And yes, I feel the same way about RUclips. It's a great way to share videos. Thanks for watching 🤗
Modern stretch covers like what is used on vehicle covers could be made and treated with ultra ever dry that could weather proof a yurt yet allow it to breath.
Wonderful, it's always great to see videos about yurts and yurt living :) We also plan and manufacture mobile yurts suitable for winter, of the highest quality. Greetings from Austria :)
Thank you! Yes, it was a great experience. We actually stayed in several during our tour and it was very surprising how convenient and comfortable they were.
HI Rain would be an issue! The felt would become waterlogged and possibly mouldy. I wonder what their solutions were for that? Maybe lanolin from the fleece? Shalom to us only in Christ Yeshua.
Hey, is it possible to use some of your video from Mongolia in a movie for children about how to build a yurt? This is a non-commercial film that will be shown in children's associations and kindergartens in Norway.
At the time the people we visited were bringing water manually from a main station. The tourist gers had functional bathrooms, but we walked to the showers. It actually was fun seeing each other going over with the towels over our shoulders. The weather was nice and it was a unique situation for a short time - we may feel different long term 😉
NEVER step on the threshold of the door when you enter a ger - it means you are stepping on the throat of your host. Men enter to the left and women to the right.
That's very interesting and good to know... I would never want to give the impression of stepping on my host's throat! Plus, it would not be smart to eat any of the offerings after that😅 Thank you for the info😊👋
This was only for demonstration purposes. I was not fortunate enough to see close-up an actual ger being set up, only from the roadside. It would have been great to see a blessing of a new ger, but in any case, I really enjoyed spending the nights of our trip in these authentic structures.
Lady at 6:00 doesn't look good. She looks like she's ready to fall over. Probably a democrat too. Where do they get all this stuff for the Ger? Is there a Home Depot on the other side of the mountain?
Yes, the Yurt Depo 😊Actually, there was a section of the market dedicated to products such as these, as well as stir ups, horse harnesses, and Mongolian boots! I know you are joking, but I felt privileged to see authentic goods like these being sold for use instead as tourist items. Things were changing, so it may be not this way anymore.
I live in Greece. I am so grateful for RUclips. You can have access to so much knowledge from all over the world. Thanks for sharing.

I wish I belonged to a community like this💙💜💚
The interior space gives a very good feeling of order, comfort and beauty.
Modern stretch covers like what is used on vehicle covers could be made and treated with ultra ever dry that could weather proof a yurt yet allow it to breath.
Indigo Dragon71 I was surprised how comfortable and convenient the yurts were! Lots of options to hung things. It was fun 😉
You can use house wrap like Tyvek.

Thank you! Greetings back! I loved Indonesia. I'll try to do the comodo dragons video at some point. Lovely country and so diverse!
A gap at the bottom how they plug that?
HI

Trust me. Mongolia is one of the driest places on earth !
very valid point.

Yes, please do. That sounds like a very worthwhile project. Best of luck.
What is the difference between a Ger and a Yurt ?
Mongolian gers have beam supports for the roof crown wheel so they can have a less steep roof than yurts which have no support.
@@NancyIoannidis , yes. As you replied I watched the building of a Yurt, and saw no center beam. Thank you
They are same thing! Just has different names 😊
That's good video
Did she say: "While their having a way with the animals." ? What's that supposed to mean?
HI
I think she said ' While they are away with the animals' Presumably shepherding them . Shalom to us only in Christ Yeshua.
Where is the running water supply?.

13:08 hahaha ... so funny
Nice people 😊
Like the Kyrgyz Yurt. 🇰🇬
It is spelled Yurk, okay?
Thank you for the comment Bill, but how did you get that spelling? We were told ger or yert, plus I looked up Yurk and it doesn't come up.

The door is also the latest addition, there was no doors before, just a thick felt the size of a door would hang.
Thank you
Thank you. That's interesting!
I like the guide. She can guide me whenever on the yurt.
She's a self-centered snob.
GER! yurt is russian bastardization of word
Similar with Eskimo
Переводчице не хватает английских слов , но она отчаянно пытается дополнить жестикуляцией ))))
Bigg ball 😘😘😘
13:00 What the....???
If you mean the hard time the guys had trying to put on the roof cover, it's because it was really heavy 🙂
@@NancyIoannidis Well, even the second time they succeeded it came down again, but they ignored.
It`s name is urkh /өрх/ night and rain down close it.
💋
Layers of felt. Not liars.
Maybe they are naughty, lying felts 😁 just kidding... Thank you for the correction 🤗
Try speaking Mongolian and see how many words you mispronounce.
There is still room to improve the making. Instead of using cotton top, they should use tarpaulin to make it water proof.
The lady at the beginning when the man is tying the walls together said “it doesn’t take much talent”. So rude
So true I picked that one up myself. Soooo rude!
Actually it is easy
Wher your toilets
