- Hello IT Pros, this is Alvendril! In this video I Reset the Bios Password for an Asus Motherboard.
1 quick clarification:
The Bios/UEFI is a firmware that is stored in a Chip on a motherboard and it is the first piece of Code that runs on a Computer.
When you make changes on the Bios, these changes are not stored on the Bios itself, but on a Memory Chip called CMOS. Therefore in reality you Reset the Password on the CMOS not The Bios.
However, because of the common lingo in the tech support world BIOS is more broadly used.

Sadly no success for me. After plugging the power back in and turning on the desktop it reboots 3 times and then comes back to the same screen

nope tried every possible thing, ended up buying the same motherboard and swapping them and havent had a problem since. sadly cost me some money though@@trenttaylor7110

Hi,
Laptops in most cases don’t have password reset pins due to its size.
Check your motherboard’s model to verify.

The Del key is the "Delete" key. i said Del because on my keyboard it only says "Del".

Be careful not to speak over the Motherboard while it is on, all you need is a drop of saliva and your mother board will be fried. Just a tip.
Wrong! I spilled water from my CPU water cooler all over the motherboard I let it dry for a day and it worked fine and I've seen it done many times on different RUclips videos also
