Super sick beast. If he gets the ~700 rating, that's legit cool, no questions asked. AND Hert did most of the work, at home. Which is double street points.
Step 69: Are you even reading these? Lmao Yes.. my power levels have been over 9000 for some time now 😂. Super simple GTE swap almost done lmao. Bad ass build dude.
@@HertLife Corolla axle still broken right? FC still trashed and I've been asking for FD content for a while now. Though I give props for the 240 looks clean af 👌
This is a blessing in disguise. from the last time you showed the top of the block, there was still a lot of material left on the metal. Im pretty sure that needs to be as clean as the new head surface. Otherwise you are going to push that head gasket. Also, should have had that block decked too.
Pappi Hert is the mood, nice to see I'm not the only one that hates working on his own car. Like seriously I feel jealous of all those guys that build their cars all by themselves...
I love how full-send this new build is. The shift from "gonna make a simple seattime shredder," to "fine, you wanna scumbag me, I'll scumbag all y'all," is glorious to behold. Good luck on this build! It's gonna be magnificent.
It seems like Hert turning all his cars into drift cars now. His got 2 rx7s, the k24 swapped 240 hatch, the daily ae86 street driftcar, and his old daily lex gs300. HERT is my new idol now.
I can't get over how clean my engine was when I took the valve covers off. It's got 200'000 km's on it, but it's got no sludge in it, and barely any colouring. Thanks for showing us this Hert, I was really curious to see if all NA vvti 2jz were as clean as mine
Hert!!! The work is coming along and looking good. Not sure if you have one already, but a nice touch for your garage office is a Bluetooth speaker to jam out to while your turning the wrenches. Best addition to my garage
Ive just realized that if hert doesnt quit Hoonigan, We will hopefully watch his kid grow up and do his first burnout! Brings a tear to my eye thinking about it. :)
This is going to be awesome!!! Glad to see Hert wrenching on his own project👍🏼! Good job Hert! Somebody get this man a garage refrigerator stocked with Cactus coolers!
I worked in an engine shop building race engines for historic racing minis and we would use sandpaper wrapped around a big flat file with WD40 to clean the carbon build up off the bottom of the head. Worked a treat and seems easier than what Hert did at 14:00. (look up Swiftune on YT to see the cars racing)
I think Home Wrenches should actually continue even after Quarantine! it can be very helpful to the ppl that wanna swap their motors, replace things that may be a big task etc.. (then everyone will be a youtube Mechanics) lol But seriously this is one series i actually like. and learn alot from!
Enjoyed watching this! I did my first rebuild during this quarantine as well, did the exact same thing getting my buddy on whatsapp to help with a few steps. It was a great success (after correcting a few mistakes, that is)
Nice work, great tips. I love that the socket would no fit into the head without modification. Makes you wonder what nice toys the Toyota factory has on hand to be accurate and timely. Looking forward to the next episode.
Hert plays silly, But dude obviously knows his shit, dude pumped out in a few days, shit Iv seen other youtubers take weeks lol! One love brother nice work, always good in front of the camera too!
You know lockdown has messed your play right up dude!! You cant hide from the tools anymore when you get back in the office cos all this dope home content you dropping actually shows you working!! 😉😅
The whole first minute is so me. Been there Hert we've all been there. Little voice in back of our head screaming to go deeper into a build than you really need to, even thou you know you shouldn't but we do it anyway. Why! This is why I have a few too many projects. :(
Unreal. I'm going to have to go do some physics checks to see if i'm in the same dimension i was in last time. The world is still burning, but Hert's working on a car. Unreal. No, but seriously, jokes aside, i'm seriously proud of Hert for pulling this off. BRAVO.
Hert heyyyy, yooo little secret about the gs300 is that u can use the Auto TT Supra diff on the gs and the radiator too !!!! u should use PHR parts for the build. They are the best for 2jz parts
I got some parts coming in for my mk3 Supra, can't wait to get it back on the road soon. Just hope the rust hasn't gotten out of hand yet. (in Canada) Feels like alot of car guys are wrenching a bunch.
That 12 point 13mm is a half inch drive, find a 3/8 drive 12 point 13mm and a 3/8 torque wrench. Much easier and more useful the grinding down a socket.
Had same issue with 4age arp head studs. Turned out they were 12mm 12pt. If you’re using these, it shows 12mm 12pt too. arp-bolts.com/kits/arpkit-detail.php?RecordID=1156
Hert is kind of making me feel better. This last weekend on my 2018 Mustang GT I did my first round of mods (cold air intake, exhaust, tune and coil overs ) The entire time I was like fuuuuuuuuck this. Then when I was done and fired it up and went for that first drive it was all worth it.
Since we’re getting back to the Donut Garage soon... what build should we work on first?? Other than the Camaro, of course.
The AE86
Pit Truck baby!
Kei trk!!
The Holden ute
The new e36
Wait, 20 whole minutes of hert working on his car? Quarantine does some wierd shit man😂
Closer to 5 minutes the rest is talking 😆
Probably took him 4hrs lol
the "CGI of 'Hert' working" had me absolutely rolling
Hert: why can't I drive any of my cars?
Also Hert: *pulls engine out of every car he buys while the rest are broken*
me studying math all day: Now he has 4JZ-GE-GTE
That graph probably looks real fresh :D

You mean a 4JZ 2G1T2E
Naa the G and E are to the second power
Tried factoring that and the solution was k-series

Yes
69 liked yw but I love the captions 😂

I almost liked until I realized that your comment had 69 likes.

Love the point stick noises. Just a lovely little bit. 😅

Think they were over seas the first time I seen that. Glad they adopted it. =)
I don't get the point stick noises. It gets annoying after awhile.

I'm pretty proud of Hert. Really cool content, and builds. Good for you!
It's a great feeling to humble people that buy factory fast with something you built from the ground up. Crush it!
“And now I know what time it is” lmao that was great
Andre Manley definitely stuck at 4:20
Pappi Hert is the mood, nice to see I'm not the only one that hates working on his own car.
Like seriously I feel jealous of all those guys that build their cars all by themselves...
hert had to become a whole ass dad so he can work on his cars i respect it tho we❤️u hert
Its nice actually knowing what he's doing with the engine and what terms he's using
Yooo my boy hert out here building 2J's I see you... 👏🏾🔥👍🏾

Hert's Friend: " I'm going to stop you right there"
That little hit marker at 9:04, absolute perfection. Thank you, whoever did this.

Hert with the finger pointer bringing back some ole Hot Version memories 😎

I’ve been loving home wrenchers, it’s simple just like the very first DTs and you can learn so much. Y’all are doing great during quarantine

Sets engine on ground in front of engine stand.. i love it.
One of my favorite things about Hoonigan is the hitmarkers. Hands down 69/10.
Love these series. And my friends are bad too. Every time I post a video I get recommendations to more work than I planned also 😂
Hey, that's what friends are for, to scumbag you into working even more than you need to. :))
