    Always wandering how foreign pilots manage to descend on to metric flight levels in China, and now I finally see how you guys professionally read back, cross check and set the correct ATC instructed FLs. I’m a 737 pilot in China and we have our converting table replacing the checklist on our yokes in my company, and we have a whole altitude change SOP to cope with the threat induced by this metric fight level system. Good to see you guys manage this threat with good cockpit communications. J'ai reçu ma formation de pilote de ligne en France à l'ENAC, vos communications en français me rappellent les bons mémoires dans le ciel de France😊

You get to see what the airport is like and also other interesting airlines/aircraft etc. Please consider extending your videos all the way to the gate if possible (you can edit out when on hold). Hi , I am new to aviation & wanted to ask a question. With runway excursioons happening. Has there ever been a serious discussion to widening runways as a safety measure. As most airlines proudly state "The safety of our passengers is paramount etc etc" How wide is a standard runway ?

    • @kickedinthecalfbyacow7549
      @kickedinthecalfbyacow7549 10 месяцев назад

      I think they are 60 meters wide in Shanghai. Larger aircraft require wider runways than smaller aircraft but normally runways are a little bit wider than they need to be.

    • @helpstopanimalabuse8153

      @@kickedinthecalfbyacow7549 Thanks very much. I suppose that is the airports responsibility not the airlines & i imagine widening runways is not cheap. I have heard that most, if not all, american airlines don't use A380's be cause of the cost of adjusting the gates at the airport to the A380's larger size & the same of the taxi ways as well. Always comes down to $$$. True story abou the cow ?

    Just curious, why are the ATC controllers speaking Mandarin on the radio? Do they use it as their own aviation language for local flights?

    • @INZEAIR84

      True, and this is normal! The primary aviation language world widely used is English but, French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic are also aviation language that can be used! It's established in ICAO rules and regulations.

      Well, to be fair at 6:15 the ATC said «speed as published» which was wrongly transcribed as «speed established» and makes no sense in that context.
      But anyways, English isn’t the first language to the vast majority of people in the world, and different linguistic backgrounds may favour some tongues over others when it comes to learning it.
      At the end of the day the most important thing is to be understood.

      The number of the runway indicates the first two number of the closest magnetic heading of the runway, ie 250degree-> rwy25 (plus L(left) or C(center) or R(right), 70degree-> rwy07.

    Anybody else notice this?
    4:27 (controller) -- reduce speed 180 kt
    4:58 (crew) -- set airspeed 200 kts
    5:00 (controller) cleared to land runway 34r
    5:00 (crew) -- speed 200 kt
    5:37 (crew) -- speed 180
    5:50 (crew) -- about to intercept localizer [published speed 180]
    A small deviation, but still ... is this an accepted practice?

    • @INZEAIR84
      @INZEAIR84  Год назад

      That's our speed reducing sequence procedure. 180kt needs flaps 5 configuration, we never set a speed on the MCP below the actual minimum maneuvering speed so as we're reducing we configure the aircraft in flaps 1 then flaps 5 etc and we set the speed accordingly with the minimum maneuvering speed. In this example minimum manoeuvring speed in flaps 1 was 194kt that's why captain set 200kt at first and once in flaps 5 he set 180kt and speed was decreasing all the way to 180kt.
