Dan is the best hunting personality in the industry. I can't watch anyone else since discovering the Beast way of hunting 5 years ago
I agree. I do watch Jeff Sturgis, THP, and Seek One also. They are good too.
Agreed Dan is a one of a kind in the industry! He really paved the way for the newer generation!
Oh yeah, Jeff is great. I don’t have properties to do food plots and manage land like him, but in season I watch all his videos with tips of where and when to hunt. Agreed.
@@mknight6556 haha sorry I just saw all this. All good! I just think his in season advice and focusing on hunting cold fronts and mornings near bedding once pre rut has really enabled me to see more deer and I’ve killed bucks and have had success with doing that, which I learned from him. I agree on some of the other stuff. Where I hunt I have to be more aggressive and Dan’s tactics work better.
When u was crossing the creek I was having flash back from that deer drive video u had were your buddy fell of the log it was alot colder then lol guarantee u there would have been serous shrinkage that day 😂

Good video Dan! The raccoons sounds like gremlins lol.. it has been a great ride watching all the hunts on Dave’s farm . Excited to see what new adventures come with the time that is now free from not having the farm to hunt.

Dan been adopting your style here in NC. I recently purchased half a mountain and am trying to figure it out a year and a half later. Thanks for the help. I did take my first buck last fall off the land.
Having private to mix in is nice and I feel your loss.

It's happened to me too Dan. I lost a family property that we took a ton of deer from. It is a really hard pill to swallow but adapt and move on with those great memories. I'm sure your still gonna have a fantastic 2023 season.

Always hard losing a dear friend. I'm sure the extra work you put into Dave's land was a way to honor and keep that brotherhood alive for you Dan. I"m sincerely sorry for your loss, but know your brother is with you on every scout, and hunt with you everywhere you go!

Sorry about Dave’s farm. All that work went to waste but at least you got to spend a little more time out there. Looking forward to watching you again this season. Praying my ankle heals up soon so Ican resume scouting here in SC.

Video Idea: review favorite deer browse in the forest and what ones to look for. You pointed out a few browse plants I usually over look. Where I hunt has no agriculture so it’s all browse.

THE HUNTING PUBLIC was doing a podcast with 2 wildlife biologists. In that interview, the wildlife biologist said the most important way of improving land for deer is to do a clear cut in the woods. The reason is it creates food and bedding. They said clear cuts are better than any food plots you can think of. They also stated that doing a controlled burn after the clear cut really enhances the property

Cut the front lip off the deck of a push mower so the blade cuts into the side off the standing grass to cut down that high grass

So sorry you lost that farm. Been there a couple times myself. I just bought my 40 ac this spring..Dream farm in area we have hunted since i was a kid.state land area very close...25 min from house....i always thought you would buy Daves farm...but the door must be open to do somthing else...
