Plus you're not supposed to block in this game you're supposed to deflect, blocking will get your posture broken, your posture can never break as long as you deflect though.

I really love this game, not the biggest fan of all from's games, but sekiro really clicked with me. The most amazing thing about this game in my opinion, is Ishiins line "hesitation is defeat" actually applies to the game. Every time I was not 100% sure of what I was doing I was getting punished for it. Every time I hesitated to block or to dodge or w/e I was getting punished for it. Every time I was locked in and ready, everything was easy.
Jeez your parrying is perfect! I’m struggling hard to beat this guy with Bell Demon and Charmless active; I just finished Mortal Journey a few days ago without these difficulty boosters, but having them enabled makes it a whole different game (blocking instead of parrying by accident is so detrimental to your health).

I love this boss, i've fought it too many times so something inside me keeps screaming at every opportunity to counter in this clip. Absolutely phenomenal, just standing there, looking at Isshin in the eyes.
Sekiro truly does become something compelling when you play using your entire repertoire. Sometimes we go in with the HUD disabled and nothing else can beat that feeling.
I personally don’t NORMALLY get stressed, but when I get close to the end of the fight, I get super pent up, worrying about failing the fight or failing whatever limitation I set up for myself right before I can beat em. Man, the adrenaline.
@IstealtoastJumping was the counter. The backflip in the video was purely cosmetic based on the attack wind up occurring immediately after he landed without being able to follow it. I've always just jumped for sweeps.
Gives me flashbacks to the boss rush feature, been a while since I fought this guy last. With that said, he'll probably keep his mantle as the best FromSoft boss even after Elden Ring in my books. Such a perfect fight.

Isshin’s definitely amazing, there’s a couple fights I prefer like demon princes, malekith, o$s, but he’s definitely up there as one of fromsoft’s all time greats
This was my first From Software game and to this day my favorite. One of my favorite games of all time. Combat is just so fucking epic and tense. They nailed sword play.
For some reason, this reminds me of that scene from Samurai Jack where he managed to beat five bounty hunters at the speed of a drop of water hitting the ground!
My least favorite is parrying a huge combo and your posture slowly ticks up and then you miss ONE parry and get fucked. WHY does posture even get damaged from a parry to begin with
While I love Sekiro combat I'm not sure it would work for a huge game like Elden ring and I'm glad it's kept seperate. Elden ring suits rpg for replay value and keep this combat in the Sekiro series as there will be a sequel for sure.

I'm still blown away by how From Soft managed to make a game so different from dark souls which they are used to, but at the same time make it souls like.
Its fun that you can still parry thrust attacks. I once did a playthrough without buying and upgrades including the mikiri counter and it was a blast parrying everything.
0:11 I don't think I've ever seen all four shots perfectly deflected before. I was sure they suffered from the strange timing issue that Genichiro's combo does. Although I guess they still might, and you've perfected that rythm.
