Also lots of people debate who is better lebron or Jordan but I think most people generally agree McDavid is a better skilled player because of how much the league has changed with technology.

Edit for comparison a nba game has a 12 player roster. A hockey team has 12 forwards. 6 d men and someone in the pipes.

In an era of very poor goaltending and a wider gap between worst and best in the league. Hockey has gotten so good there is no comparison between today and his era but at the same time Gretz didn't have the same coaching, training and developmental system that kids have today.

Then also nhl players are far more talented and technologically advanced.
