anything over 1ppg in junior hockey gets you looks and gets you drafted, having 2ppg gets you in the top 5, in the NHL, over 1ppg you're a star, over 100 points you're a superstar
Exactly. Well put
sum'd it up pre damn well
Lmao 100 points isn’t anything special anymore it ain’t 2010
@@edited1325yes it is
@@edited1325bro what? 😂
mcdavid hasnt won a cup yet but has just booked his ticket to his first Stanley cup finals series vs florida
game 7 on monday
@@oshxdxw 😥😥😥
The big difference between hockey and basketball is how much time the players play. because of the speed of hockey and live changes, top players will play less than half of the game so it's a lot harder for 1 player to carry
Not to mention how many opportunities your best players have to score. Hockey is much more of a luck based game as sad as it is to say.
@@turdferguson8704 luck isnt the good word i think, its more a game of mistake.
@@QcLetsPlay By luck I mean high variance. In other words harder to predict. More variables means more random results on average.
When Mcdavid wins a cup, he’ll go down as possible the most dominant athlete of all time across all sports… that’s crazy to think about because a lot of people don’t even know who he is because he plays in Edmonton who doesn’t get much media attention
In the Us. Here in Canada Edmonton gets a ton if attention. One most committed fan bases out their. One the loudest buildings in hockey.
@@kool9813 obviously I’m from Edmonton and he’s huge part of the culture here… but I got friends in the states that have no idea who he is because they ain’t hockey fans. That’s a damn shame because Mcdavid should be Huge all over the world if not North America… I agree on everything you said but not a lot of people know it because hockey isn’t a popular sport just yet
Yeah, not across all sports. Look up Toni Bou. Connor will not dominate more than Toni did and still does
One player can't carry a team like Lebron because an nhl team has 4 lines and all of the lines need to perform to have a successful team
And three D pairs and two goalies...
In junior that’s possible lol
Guide to NHL awards for you
Hart: MVP voted by media
Norris: Best defenceman voted by media
Art ross: Most points
Conn Smythe: Playoff MVP
Maurice Richard: Most goals
Jack Adams: Best coach voted by media
Ted Lindsay: Most outstanding player voted by the players
Frank J. Selke: Best Defensive forward voted by media
Calder: Rookie of the year voted by media
Vezina: Best Goalie voted by media
Lady Byng: Sportsman ship and gentlemanliness voted by media
William M. Jennings: Least Goals against
i think that’s all i can think of tbh there’s a couple others but those are most of the ones that matter
Nope. A single player cannot do it all.
Hockey is an ultimate team sport.
Goaltending is key.
Scoring is essential.
Offense wins Games.
Defense wins Championships.
McD has a real team. You will enjoy these playoffs. Panthers are easy villains of the league like Vegas.
This is the chance to live out Dreams.
Started watching in 2010, playing in my garage in 2011, learning to skate in 2013, playing varsity for my high school in 2014-2017.
6 Art Ross Trophies (Most points in the regular season)
1 Maurice "rocket" Richard Trophy (Most goals in the regular season)
3 Ted Lindsay Awards (Most outstanding player in the regular season, voted on by NHL Players Association)
2 Hart Trophies (League MVP, voted on by Professional Hockey Writer's Association)
its actually 5 Art Rosses
Bro, McDavid & The Great One both stared their careers in cow town 😅.
Big props in discovering an amazing game!
This was a good reaction Conor is amazing also been watching hockey for as long I can remember so close to 40 years
Started on skates at four but there is a photo of me at three with a stick in my hand.
Played defense.
ted lindsey is voted by journalist, hart is voted by the association, its basically the same thing but the true MVP is the hart
It's not voted by journalists, it's voted by members of the NHLPA. You have it reversed
Hart is hockey media
Ted Lindsay is the players
you got it backwards
I don't remember learning to skate, shortly after learning to walk. I was on a team when I was 4 years old playing ice hockey
I was an Edmonton fan living in Edmonton when he was drafted, he was being called McJesus before he was even drafted. I first heard that from my cousin the year before he was drafted
To be clear, when McDavid was drafted to Junior under the "exceptional" status he was 15 years old playing against teams full of guys ranging from 16 up to 20. He was still able to dominate even playing against older, stronger competition.
I started playing at 3 next year I’m gonna be 18 it’s gonna be sad stepping away from minor hockey but those 15 year where filled with making good friends and good memories
I think I was about 6 or 7 when Paul Kariya and Teemu selanne were huge. The dynamic duo got praise from the great one himself. I can’t praise them enough strongly recommend a video or 2 of each player especially Paul they are players like him that go unnoticed due to either injuries or personal matters.
Most hockey players start skating very young. I was in kindergarten when I first stepped on the ice, I have a 3 year old and a 5 year old and they also have already started learning to skate.
living in canada i was watching hockey with my mom as a newborn in the hospital and i started skating and playing at 2/3
in canada we're usually on skates around 3-4
I played hockey for 15 years before getting too many concussions and switching to speed skating where I eventually made our national team, and I started skating at 2 and a half. Most people who play hockey start skating before 5, since thats the age junior hockey starts (at least where I lived in Canada)
I started skating when I was 3-4 years old
first time on ice was 2 years old. figure skating until I was 7, started ice hockey at 5, power-skating at 10 until I was 15. Lived on the ice or in the basement shooting pucks at targets.
First time I stepped on the ice I was 3 years old. When I was 4 my parents went to sign my brother up for hockey and the lady at the desk asked if they were signing the both of us up. My parents were about to sign me up for another year of “learn to skate” but the lady insisted that they sign me up for full hockey instead. Best decision anyone’s ever made for my life, I’m 21 now and have been consistently playing ever since. Never at the highest level but still the most fun I’ve ever had
The Hart trophy is voted by the sports writers. The Ted Lindsay is voted by the players around the league only
Gretsky is on a whole other level. No other player will ever touch his accolades
He was ok
Bobby Orr is the only player who could control a game on his own.
The game is soooo different from Gretzky to McDavid, but as good as Oveechkin and Crosby are, McDavid has the best chance to supplant the goat….even if the numbers are ridiculously unreasonable
The Ted Linsey is a “Players” awarded trophy, the Hart Trophy is the MVP as voted on by the media.
I’m from Calgary; we detest the Edmonton oilers. Still, watching McDavid play is a joy.
The ted Lindsay is voted by the players and the hart is voted by the media
And now hes finally in the Cup final, bring it home Connor...
8:39 That’s was LITERALLY Connor Bedard when The Chicago Blackhawks tragically won the 2023 Draft Lottery.
First time on skates I was 2, first time in a hockey league was at 4 in an 8 and under roller hockey league.
The oilers just made their first playoff final since 2006
Most kids growing up in Canada start hockey/figure skating at 4 or 5. Some kids with athletic parents like Mcdavid or Kirby Dach (Kirby and I are both from the same city and I played hockey with him and his brother) start at 3 which honestly is about as young as you can do it because a 3-year-old has barely learned how to balance on the ground let alone skates on ice. XD
I think I was 2 years old when I first stepped onto ice with skates.
he was crazing out about mcdavid's junior numbers just wait until he finds out about lemieux junior career
Its pretty impossible for one player to carry a team unless it's a goalie
wild to drop this while they are in the Stanley cup finals
Gretzky won 5 cups. You have to watch the first goal in Game 6 of the Western conference (2024) versus Dallas.
Im Canadian, so i was pretty much born with skates on my feet. Hope that helps!
u cant carry like lebron in hockey since at most u play 25 minutes in a game as a single person still have 35 more minutes of a game where ur not on the ice
Edmonton vs Florida this year for the Stanley Cup Finals. The series starts on Saturday, so McDavid has his chance this year to win a cup
I started skating at 3 years old, started playing hockey at 8 years old. I’m 21 and still suck.
Ted Lindsey award is different because it is voted on by the players in the NHL.
For a noob, Datsyuk would be a good video to watch. McDavid is a better finisher, but for pure skill at all aspects of the game, Datsyuk is amazing.
If you minus all of wayne gretzkys goals, he still has the points record for the nhl. He also has the most goals of alltime. But ever7one forgets about Bobby Orr
The name McJesus came about at first because everyone was hyping him as the savior of the team
started skating when i was 2 years old
Art Ross Trophy = Top Point Scorer
Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy = Top Goal Scorer
Hart Trophy = League MVP
4 years old was the first time i skated
Hart= MVP,
Conn Smythe= playoff MVP,
Maurice “Rocket” Richard= most goals,
Art Ross= most points,
Ted Lindsay= most outstanding,
Norris= best defenseman,
Vezina= best goalie,
Calder= best rookie,
William M Jennings= goalie(s) with fewest goals against in minimum 25 regular season games,
Jack Adams= best coach,
Lady Byng= most sportsmanship/gentlemanly conduct,
Bill Masterton= most perseverance/sportsmanship/dedication (example: someone who had a great came back from a terrible injury),
Mark Messier Leadership award= best exemplifies leadership both on and off the ice,
and ofcourse: Stanley Cup= playoff trophy
you should react to the stanley cup finals game 1 is saturday mcdavid is playing
Nah, hockey is too physical for 1 player to take hold of an entire team. Labron ain’t getting hit night in night out. And mcdavid would have to score 2-3 goals himself per game
Hockey will make you better at any sport but no sport will make you better at hockey.
I started skating when I was 3.
I was in the rink with my daughter the first time he was on the ice at Rexall place
I started hockey around age 9 or 10 in atom and played till midget
1 player can not carry the entire team for the cup the team needs scoring depth good defense and decent ast best goaltending
1st Mcdavid is THE BEST player ever as of right now, Gretzky is greater but Mcdavid is better
2nd you should react to Connor Bedard sweepstakes from last year he had a better junior career than Mcdavid did
3rd
-Art Ross trophy = most points
-Richard trophy = most goals
-Hart = MVP voted by writers
-Lindsay = best player voted by the players
4th You cannot carry a team on your own in the NHL like you can in other sports cause they don’t play more than half the game in normal circumstances
3 was when I started playing
wearing a mcjesus shirt rn, literally his face on an iconic photo of jesus
bros math was horrendous 😭😭
i was two when i got on the ice
I started playing at 3 aswell
Heart trophy a mvp of his team
Ted Lindsay is outstanding player voted by other players
Mcdavid is already in the finals. Starts on the 8th of June🧡💙☝🏾
See if you can match the Oilers players in the 80s to the current Oilers. Only one i think that's missing from the lineup is the role of Esa Tikkanen. Everyone else matches like Gretzky/McDavid, Messier/ Draisaitl, Anderson/Hyman, Simpson/Bouchard, Kurri/Nugent-Hopkins, etc...Ironically, most of the Oilers' great players that left went to the New York Rangers and half of the team that won the Stanley Cup in 1994 season are former Oilers. In comparison to other sports, McDavid has the fastest response time, fastest skater, great spatial awareness/hockey sense like Wayne Gretzky. Considering the speed of the game, he's considered as the greatest player compared to other great players in different sports. His home here in Edmonton is weird as it looks more like a hotel inside than being a regular home. You can watch a tour inside of his home on youtube. IMO, the best&exciting playoff games for the current Oilers is the 2nd round against the Calgary Flames in the 2022-23 playoff season.
Just from the power creep of the NHL I believe that Connor McDavid is the best player of all time. It may not reflect on the spreadsheets or point totals, but you can't tell me that someone that gets the privilege to take a wide open slap shot from the blue line to score can't be compared to someone who has to beat some of the most evolved defenders in all of sports to get a guarded shot on the *Potentially greatest goal tenders in sports. This isn't a jab at Wayne Gretzky's greatness, but my outlook on the subject of GOAT.
they are in the finals rn
great video
i was 16 when i first skated im now 22 and can skate fluently
I don’t remember when I started skating or watching hockey. Do you remember the first time you ate bread?
the average points for a normal player is liike 30
7:55 that’s Justin Bieber on the right
wayne won 5 championships connor mcdavid has 0 but hes in the finals right now
Also check out Mario Lemieux.
Gotta react to Dastyuk
I currently play foward
american noob watch the stanley cup finals 5pm est. tommrow
12:28 please do more research before making your opinions on that. I understand not knowing stuff but like you gotta watch some other highlights. Im not mad im just saying like you're easily gonna piss some people off so watch out dude lol. Oilers fan here btw!!
Mcdavid team the oilers are in the finals
Patrick Kane is the Lebron James of the NHL. Got all the Trophies.McJesus won’t get a Cup until Chicago.
react to bareknuckle boxing
You mean hockey's sidequest?
4
Finally my boy McDavid is in the Stanley cup final this year
