I traded in a suburban so this is a size down however I do like the shelving system more than I thought I would.

It’s sadly a miss for me for the second and third rows. The second row not being able to move forward or back to change legroom stinks, and the third row not being flat when down is awful for storage. The trunk is definitely a selling feature, especially if you have to keep that 3rd row up with captains chairs!
Toured one in person recently and tbh…Toyota made me mad with how many things they missed: - Few car seat options - felt like I didn’t have great visibility from driver’s seat - mileage for a hybrid is barely better than what I’m getting with a V8 (currently averaging 19.4mpg with the Wagoneer that I ended up buying) - second row doesn’t move - third row access isn’t car seat friendly - third row can only have car seat in middle - THAT SHELF. The dealer said it could hold a full yeti cooler, but doubt it could handle that plus our two big dogs (and sales rep acknowledged that may be a stretch, so not sure how you can hold luggage + loaded cooler for a trip) - Third row doesn’t fold flat (so road trip packing means that everything is going to be impacting rear visibility) - Weird gap between second and third row when third row is folded (seems very hazardous for any dogs back there and also a great way for gear to slide down and get stuck, which will be a pain when unloading) - can’t even fit our Evenflo folding travel stroller in back when third row is in normal position - we would have to go up to a Platinum level to get a bench seat and the dealer said that would be $91K. Ouch Exterior looks fantastic IMO, but I’m mad at Toyota for everything else
Thank you for the video. Was looking forward for your review of the sequoia. With so many dislikes and rumours around the rear space. Your video makes it clear. I have a new born and 4 year old in booster and I think Sequoia will be a perfect fit. Your videos are great for family vehicles, especially to understand the space. Excellent review Kelly…….I currently have a 4 runner and I was planning to get the Sequoia but the price has deterred me allll the way !!! Toyota is the most reliable….. but with the price I might as well get a Lexus! Thank you Kelly!
We waited for this one to be revealed hoping it would address the shortcomings of the previous generation (Styling, storage space and fuel economy). Unfortunately this is more of a 1 step forward and 2 steps backward. The 3rd row stadium seating, non-adjustable second row and non-fold flat 3rd row are all deal-killers for us. I realize it's a hybrid and the battery has to go somewhere, but the prior generation had comfortable seating for adults in all three rows. The older kids are not going to be comfortable in that 3rd row for long road trips.
all your car videos with car seats are very helpful! thank you for that. I hope you can do one with the 2024 Grand Highlander as well. I haven’t seen any videos on youtube yet of that vehicle with car seats..
Thanks so much for posting, been excited to see the inside and features. Also disappointed that they didn’t think better about car seat setup but hoping to get a model with the bench. Any thoughts if you think the bench style will be wide enough to accommodate 3 seats? Or too hard to know since you were only able to tour the Platinum with captain? Does it feel significantly roomier inside than the Highlander ? (That’s what we have now and I would expect it to be but it’s hard to tell ) thanks!
I have the a 2011 second gen and I’m so disappointed that they messed with the third row, there is ample space in the second gen and the seats fold flat in to the ground. I’m also disappointed that they did away with the rear window that rolled down. This doesn’t excite me about the new changes to the sequoia because they completely disregarded and changed some of the best features of the sequoia. Happy to keep my 2011 for as long as it will run well! Toyota definitely could have done better with upgrading what needed to be without downgrading what was appreciated in the second gen.
We love the exterior and hybrid but what are they thinking with the lack of car seat anchors?!? Just surprising that a vehicle targeting large families could fall so short. Great tour!
I like everything about it, but I'm never going back to a truck without a full time AWD option. I could overlook the decreased storage compared to the rivals, and I love the power the hybrid engine puts out, but I'm not selecting back and forth between RWD and 4 wheel drive while dealing with weather and shouting kids.

If you want to fold the 3rd row down the trunk space isn’t flat, is that right? That would never work for my dogs so that’s a deal breaker unfortunately.
This is a gorgeous sporty SUV but the cargo space is a huge dealbreaker. The third row looks pretty crunched in. Now I’m just learning about the tray between the seats which means you can’t easily utilize that space either. I’m not exactly sure who Toyota was marketing this SUV for but it’s not a very practical family vehicle. The expedition is still a win for me.
Sadly, it only has a maximum of 86.9 cubic feet of cargo space (the Highlander has a maximum of 84.3 for comparison’s sake). Also, the third row doesn’t fold into the floor, which is the real reason Toyota added that shelf. It is an attractive vehicle, though. I’ll give them that much.
I really enjoy all your videos - but please get better lighting for shooting in daylight! Especially with black interiors. It's often hard to see the details when everything is backlit

Third row is sacks on v8 big car. We have 3 v8 in my family, chevy Tahoe, Toyota sequoia and Infiniti qx80. All 3 are 2022. When it comes to inside room, Chevy is the master.
Love your videos! My husband and I are looking into the 2018-2022 sequoias (since they are so expensive might as well get a newer one with less miles instead of getting one older that has a TON of miles for the same price..) The new 2023s are neat, but seem smaller in person especially for the 3rd row. We would like to have a big family (about to give birth to our second baby soon), or have everyone carpool with us (husbands family is tall) and have the capability to go off road. We have seen in person the older and newer body style, but never with car seats. The limited, trd sport, and trd pro are the trims we prefer. Im looking for a 2022 or older review video from your channel about the sequoias, but can seem to find one. We also have the same car seats. I’d love to see a video from you reviewing the 2022 or older sequoias with car seats in the 2nd and 3rd row if possible! 😊 Thanks! Again your videos are awesome!
Honestly, you can't go wrong with a sequoia, they're work horses and will last forever. I have a 2019. It's great, we have 3 kids and two labs and we are Comfortable. Love it for taking all the kids plus friends.
Can someone help me understand - why is a rearview camera necessary if you have a back-up camera? Like there must be a reason but my brain can't comprehend it.
Great review! I think if they would’ve kept the second row on a track, it’d be better for bigger families. I have a ‘17 (in stl - if you want to tour) and I’ll confidently say I’m not upgrading. We’ve been on the waiting list for over a year, still haven’t seen it 😢 but definitely keeping the ‘17 if not going for a suburban or Yukon XL!
Regardless of how clever the rear storage tray is, lack of a fully flat folding rear seat makes this a no for me… same idea as what GM had in their 2007-2014 Yukon/Tahoe before they came to their senses. Not sure what was wrong with the old Sequoia design…
The old sequoia has a lot more usable cargo space, it’s amazing that for the sake of cost, they went with that rear axle. I can’t image what it feels like to sit back there while driving on a trip without the air suspension
As a sequoia fan and have owned multiple, this really doesn't work well with a family of more than 2 kids. There's just not enough room in the 3rd row and the rear cargo space is so bad. You can't add space with a little shelf. Factor in the massive battery making the floor higher, the lack of independent rear suspension for poor ride quality, and the really high price and it's just a miss for a larger family. Two kids and you should be good, but you can't remove or fold flat the 3rd row. So That removes even more functionality. The current Tahoe and Expedition are way ahead even with this new redesign.
Love love the styling! Really thought hard because I want the style and love Toyota reliability but the lack of third row and funky small trunk space made me pass. Just too small for my family of 5 plus dogs and all the gear under the sun. I also read the actual mpg is meh esp for a hybrid. Plus they are selling above MSRP. Otherwise it is a seriously beautiful SUV (esp the capstone-mwah)!
Toyota had a whole generation to fix the 3rd row not folding flat but didn't. For the price they want for these and the 3rd row not folding flat nor removable and 2nd row tumble forward is a miss. Sure they went backwards for the solid rear axle for higher tow capacity but most people buying these aren't towing. I rather have the cargo space.
I just want to say thank you so much for doing these videos. Women especially moms feel so disrespected in the car scene. We’re always having comments directed towards us about soccer mom cars, SUV’s with only one child, and car pool lane jokes as if we aren’t a huge legitimate consumer section. It’s nice to find somewhere that treats us like we’re just as important as other car consumers.
WAIT FOR THE TOYOTA GRAND HIGHLANDER. 😉😁 2023+ sequoia = 35 cubic feet smaller than the gen two sequoia (2008-2022). 2 cubic feet smaller than the current 4Runner behind the first row. (Yes. Smaller) Second row seats don’t slide. Third row now does. However….if you slide the third row forward, you lose room because the second row is stationary. The third row also lost knee room, elbow room, and head room. Third row isn’t removable because of hybrid batteries. Hybrid for power and towing. Not for gas. It’s a flop as a sequoia. It’s good for four or five people. But now the 2023 HONDA PILOT is bigger.
The Sequoia was discontinued. This is an afterthought rendition from the all new Tundra. The look is very nice but the engineering and design was for a Tundra pickup truck that do not carry over well for what the Sequoia is.

Third row is sacks on v8 big car. We have 3 v8 in my family, chevy Tahoe, Toyota sequoia and Infiniti qx80. All 3 are 2022. When it comes to inside room, Chevy is the master.
Starts at 79k CAD and called a few dealerships and all say 2 year wait LMFAO.... no one wants a vehicle 2 years later. Does this also come in 8 seats?
Great video thank you! wonder how its different with bench seat... Happy for you on your 3rd congratulations & god bless you. Birth vlog?? 😁
Would love to see review on the new Land Rover defender 130
We love the sequoia!
wow i am happy watch your video about sequioa i love it my favor, you pick right car for your baby future it is image...👍
Is this worth getting over the 4Runner ? Help
Love this. Would def get TRD Pro
Would love to see more plug in suv hybrids. Lincoln aviator?
It's great, we have 3 kids and two labs and we are
Comfortable. Love it for taking all the kids plus friends.
WHY won’t Toyota make a large family friendly SUV?!!!!
Can someone help me understand - why is a rearview camera necessary if you have a back-up camera? Like there must be a reason but my brain can't comprehend it.
Is that a 4 car attached garage?!?
I am hearing the ride is not great and what are your driving impressions ?
Toyota unbelievable Beautiful dependability & Safety is Amazing But I will Love Toyota to bring back the “Land cruiser” Back💯💯
I would love to see the 2023 Toyota Highlander Hybrid
Can you do one on a lx 570
Great review! I think if they would’ve kept the second row on a track, it’d be better for bigger families. I have a ‘17 (in stl - if you want to tour) and I’ll confidently say I’m not upgrading. We’ve been on the waiting list for over a year, still haven’t seen it 😢 but definitely keeping the ‘17 if not going for a suburban or Yukon XL!
Thanks for the review! I hate the third row! Little kids grow to big kids. My first grader is 4 feet tall! Prefer the expedition or the pathfinder!
Have you done a review of the 2020-2022 Sequoia? It’s SO much better than the 2023.
it is a nice suv i’d love one but it so expensive on top of it, dealer markup
Regardless of how clever the rear storage tray is, lack of a fully flat folding rear seat makes this a no for me… same idea as what GM had in their 2007-2014 Yukon/Tahoe before they came to their senses. Not sure what was wrong with the old Sequoia design…
The old sequoia has a lot more usable cargo space, it’s amazing that for the sake of cost, they went with that rear axle. I can’t image what it feels like to sit back there while driving on a trip without the air suspension
man would love to get it for my family but damm what r they 80k plus not even including tax and title.
99k. What are the jobs? I need some advice.
I hated my 15 Tahoe for that same reason, third row is very uncomfortable for travel, it's why I had to sell it. It's why I didn't get the 23 Sequoia
What did you get
Can you do an expedition WITH bucket seats tour?! 🚙
Very good review.
Loving the cargo space! Looking forward to this once my kiddos are forward facing!!
Very nice car 🚗 ❤
The new sequoia looks like a mix between toyota highlander xse and 4runner
79!!! Does it fly wow
Wish more room behind the third row seats
WAIT FOR THE TOYOTA GRAND HIGHLANDER. 😉😁
2023+ sequoia =
35 cubic feet smaller than the gen two sequoia (2008-2022).
2 cubic feet smaller than the current 4Runner behind the first row. (Yes. Smaller)
Second row seats don’t slide.
I feel like the third row car seat situation is that way simply so toyota doesn’t cannibalize the sales of their sienna minivan.
The Sequoia was discontinued. This is an afterthought rendition from the all new Tundra. The look is very nice but the engineering and design was for a Tundra pickup truck that do not carry over well for what the Sequoia is.
