This is an excellent start. You've managed to be concise and do not waste viewers time with well you know junk. It would be great if you would do another video on other aspects of precision X1 as well as something on afterburner. Assuming you have not already. Keep up the good work. It's refreshing to see useful concise tutorials on RUclips.
Really appreciate it, any thing you would like to see us review? Or something you think we could be doing better. We are trying to get to 1000 subscribers so youtube will make our channel a higher priority.
Hi my friend I just got a question for you I hope you’re still around this video is about four years old I just installed the precision next one and I noticed when I turn off the computer and start back to computer the settings they’re back on zero so I don’t know if that is something that is supposed to happen after I do my Settings which I did 100 on the GPU clock in 100 on the memory clock and I saved it I apply for saving it but still when I turn the computer back on It still goes back to zero can you please let me know if that something that is supposed to happen thank you
Thanks for the vid! I got the evga 3070 ftw and would like to get it overclocked, but not sure what to do for it exactly. I'm seeing that I have more of an issue with memory capacity than speed as I am a content creator and use a 4k monitor, so I think that pushes it. Any advice on improvement for that except on waiting for possible 16gb ti version :P :D Great video also, keep doing more!
Thanks for watching! Sounds like you have memory intensive work loads. Besides overclocking them as much as possible not much else you can really do besides hope for a Ti variant
On my FTW3 3070 RTX... I got 2160Mghz out of my GPU and 8400Mghz out of the Memory Stable because of the huge headroom of having 3080 size fans on it. Defaults are something like 1920 and 7000. The cost is a lot more heat inside your case... and GPU temps up from 40C to 60C. But it actually throttles down really well so for my purposes, 99% of the time it's at idle 400mghz unless I'm locally AI generating images and got it pegged at 100%, Gaming uses about half my GPU, and video rendering uses about 80%. I left my voltage setting at the lowest allt he way to the left, and my power target at 100, and my temperature target at 72C. fan curve is set at "Stealth" My Ryzen 7950x CPU I actua;ly run underclocked by about 8% with a throttle limit of 140watts and 85C tempeterature limit in bios. That easily solves all the overhyped Ryzen 7000 series overheating problems, setting your temperature limit in BIOS ot 85C. This keeps it at around 5.3mghz max as opposed to 5.7mghz stock which will go all the way up to 95C which I don't really feel comfortable with.
Can anyone help me? I used this guide and now I can’t boot my pc past bios. I get a black display. I’ve been trying to fix this in bios for hours, removed the battery from my mobo, no idea what to do now.
I know this is old but I have Evga 3080 FTW 3 Ultra and I'm trying to OC it. On Precision X1 the clock speed is constantly jumping MHz values (From 210 - 1800). Is that normal since it's idle?
Hey man, nice video! Have a question... I`ve been playing apex at 83 temp at default x1 precision settings, what do i need to move, to get lower temperatures?
The PC Pit: yes sometimes when i save like every then my GPU fans stop running so I have to check every time if they're spinning? so I have to open Precision again to get it going, I have an EVGA 2070 super 2 fan, and its great but its been so long I paid any attention to OC and OC my GPU which I have never done but why buy a card like mine if I don't utilize it yes? and I do like ur vids I'm a subber to ur Ch. but I need help like a handheld walk along cuz I really want to OC my PC and GPU , well TY Pit hopefully can Link me a guide to ur OC videos.
It really depends on how far you want to push the card. You shouldn't worry about fan stop unless its happening under load. If your just on the desktop and they stop they are all designed to do that now. I think it is far easier for a beginner to learn how to overclock using MSI afterburner or the Asus tool (doesn't matter what GPU you have) because they give you better values or its easier to understand. The first thing you want to do is max out your power limit and thermal limit. And save that profile. From there the easiest way to do it is increase the GPU clock by 25 and run like 3D mark time spy or play a game and make sure its stable and then do that until your stable anymore and the PC crashes. Once it crash you want to walk the GPU clock back to where its stable again. At this point you've maxed out or found a very high GPU clock thats stable(won't be the same as others every card is unique even the exact same model/brand will have different stability settings) from that stability you can start doing the same to the memory clocks until it starts crashing again. Once it starts crashing you either walk the memory overclock back until its stable and call it a day or you walk back your gpu clock a little and it'll become stable and you can try getting both to a happy medium. Its 100% trail and error. Next GPU we get i think we're going to do a overclocking live stream sometime end of February early March. I hope this helped!
Hey sir, is it better to use the precision x1 overclocking method or the geforce experience easy overclock method instead in today’s time? To me they both seem like great methods but it looks like the geforce experience ez clock adjusts the overclocking to what your specific card can handle...im very indecisive haha
I need serious help my evga prescison x1 is stuck at 10 percent to 30 percent power target at boost and it won’t go up this happened after I got blue screen by accidentally sliding MHz over
I have been using EVGA software for a while but can not remember how to keep the fan settings from resetting all the time any help would be appreciated
I hope you can answer my question. On alot of my games, my 3060 will turn on and off the fans. I don't like that. So i downloaded evga precision x1 to control the fans. I want my fan speed to still adjust automatically to the temperature as needed, but i do not want the fans to turn off while the PC is powered on. I think this precision x1 will lock my fan speed to 33 percent but will stay at that percentage while the gpu is under stress and getting hotter. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Voltage really depends on the card, some cards perform better undervolted. With memory it is much like the gpu but they work together. So moving the sliders together to get the most stable OC
@@Argentbuilds Okay so try and error :) While overclocking a cpu you have to be carfeul playing with the voltage.. is there a ,,too much" or is the software blocking at the max?
Its really just a trail and error thing. Max out power limit and thermals limit. Then move you GPU clock to around +50 or so and see how stable you are. +50 should be stable with an EVGA card.
Yeah the OSD through that application is very hit and miss. It works on some games not on others and im not sure exactly why. I really wanted to use it for a long time and researched it and never could get it figured out so i gave up lol
For the most part you want to 1. Max out the power limit. 2. Move the gpu clock to the right in small increments. 3. Test to see if its stable. 4. Move the memory clock to the right in small increments. 5. Test if its stable. Thats pretty much the jist of it, alot of trial and error to see what your card is stable at.
You cant fry your graphics card using one of those programs normally. What will happen is if the cards not stable the computer will crash and reboot with stock settings. Your only going to kill your card by either cooling it improperly or by using to much voltage.
