Here’s a fun idea. Give the rhamp and or thalasso an ability that deals damage when they fly into players, have it be like charge abilities, the higher you dive from the more damage you do, basically turning them into living missiles like that one video of a falcon obliterating another bird with a dive bomb
Plague carrier works. It does put the icon on the player. I got it yesterday when I was just questing on my eotriceratops and a rhamp kept following me, landing on me, yelling all the while. Everytime it landed, the plague icon came up, indicating it was debuffing me. I debating killing it, but since no one was around me and I was just trying to quest in peace and go back to home cave, I just left it there like a bird on a buffalo...or a mosquito. It eventually got bored of me and left after a few minutes of me just trotting around. Now, what I hate is rat out. Personally I don't believe it should work on solo players. Last thing I want to do is let the area know I'm there, when I'm just trying to add more growth.
Imo pycno and cerato shouldn’t have reflective damage lol, either reduce it to only headshots on the horned subspecies or make it an ability or both. I think pycno should have it only on the head for the horned subspecies, and cerato should just have it as an ability, pycnos should be there automatically but again only for horned subspecies on the head lol
The reason why they have reflect dmg is because they have large osteoderms. As for game balancing, pycno is a squishy hit-and-run character, so reflective damage makes it so it’s harder to simply chase down and kill with no repercussions (especially because pycno has bad turning speed while sprinting). And cerato is a brawler, so it’s natural tankiness plus the reflective dmg helps it fit into its role perfectly. Both characters also have access to armoured tail, which means they can make full use of the armour + reflect tactics.
I have a question, (if you see this) Can rhamps group with different animals other than themselves? If so- can they help attack the Dino’s that the people in their pack are fighting?
It used to be that Barrel Roll has knockback, so if you barrel roll into a Hatz you knock them out of their flying mode. You could then, if you were fast enough, latch onto the Hatz and it can't engage into flight while a Ramphy is latched onto it, making it just falling down to its doom
UPDATE: They just removed knockback on barrel roll...probably for the best

Luckily rat out can be cancelled by calling once yourself or laying down for a moment

Can confirm trying to barrel roll a thal out of the sky is hard. Had a ramph try it twice and give up earlier today.
Have one rhamp pounce the hatz then use another to knock it down. Then it cant fly >:)
you know what’s even better? if you barrel into them and latch as well then they can’t fly again so they just fall

They can group up with everything else and help out by giving buffs /debuffs. But they cant deal damage ~

Your default bite can kill critters out of burrows and you can catch fish in water. You can not deal damage to players though
