- The game is Path of Titans, It is an MMO dinosaur video game currently in active development for home computers and mobile devices fully compatible with cross platform play. nvGunn I I think you should play Dave dragons is an MRO game where you to play the dragon some dragons are called the flames stalker in the shadow stalker where as a full as a shadow stock, you can go invisible well-being, a baby and an adult flames dark you get highheat vision and I think you would like it very much. It is a very cool game and I want to try it out.

In my experience, realism servers are the best way to see the game for what it really is. Aside from the pvp, you really get a chance to slow it down and just live as a Dino. And once you start getting a consistent group to play with, engaging in the profiles with people and it’s just great.

Gunn, as a decently frequent player on this server since the day it was founded, I can’t thank you enough for actually talking it out with people who offered advice when most other PvP RUclipsrs would merely dismiss the rules as ‘stupid’
You’re off to a great start, man! Just remember to carefully read the rules a couple times over and make sure you know the profile of the dinosaur you’re on!! Do this and it’ll be some of the best PoT you’ll ever come across :)
Yeah man of course I’ll talk things out with people, I’d have to be an idiot to join someone’s server and dismiss their rules as stupid, it’s their server, either I respect their rules or I don’t play there. I’m really glad people are willing to talk to me and help out, it makes my learning much easier

I love realism servers and im happy you're getting to try em out, as for the concerns around death, in realism the rules and regulations are put in place as a means of preventing unfair deaths (ie mega packs), and if you die to something like a game crash then im pretty sure you can get a regrow for it. But generally speaking the reason the death penalty is so high is because it's meant to show the complete end of that creature, all lore and story after death is gone and it symbolizes your animal completing it's life cycle. Realism always prioritizes the animal immersion/experience over most other things including "entertainment value", this is because you're meant to feel like you're in a nature documentary versus a game and it's all built around that foundation.
As for why quests give you so much growth, its because it's a completely optional thing, and most realism players don't quest at all. The server as a whole focuses primarily on just passive growth and questing is only there for those who may be solo or don't have enough time to grow passively.
My biggest tip for learning how to roleplay on realism is taking advantage of the questions channel or skin channel and asking there if you're unsure about certain interactions or appearances (ie courting, or male and female dimorphism ). Other then that if you're still unsure make sure to fully read through your creatures profile, as debatably the profile is just as important if not more so than some of the general rules as they tell you the temperament of what your playing, the behaviors, interactions, etc.
Personally what I did when first starting is looking through each profile and seeing what I liked or didn't to determine what I wanted to play, as the profile makes a much much larger difference in gameplay than the combat or stats (and on realism most stats of creatures are edited anyways). The primary goal when choosing a playable is picking one that you can enjoy the profile experience of, not necessarily it's viability. (Also when first starting try picking just a handful of playables so that way you can get a more detailed understanding of how they play.)
Regardless I'll quit blabbering, for your first time you did great, and I really hope you get to have more fun and interesting experiences with realism!
(Last little tid bit, when your mate said to 2 call they meant friendly call, it's in reference to the isle, and most PoT realism players have had some experience with the game so they use Isle terminology.)

i feel like everyone makes the same mistake when they first join of typing in global for things unrelated to name giving😭 i did the same thing when i first joined this server. Realism isn’t for everyone but it’s 100% for me, makes this game so much more enjoyable and a whole other experience. I noticed it makes me a lot more careful of my actions and careful to not lose my dino (and its lore if it has any lol). I also swear i see imaginary things because i’m so cautious to not die. Also i totally get just doing ur best and how daunting the rules are, when i first joined i was very overwhelmed but would re read the rules everytime id play because i was so nervous 😭😭 Loved this video tho! would love to see more like it.

realism servers are suuuper fun imo the one im in gives insane growth on quests because it gives you a chance to play solo but if you play in a nest then you would grow over a few hours

As someone who mostly plays on realism servers this video was incredible fun to watch and see someone learning the rules, loved the story as well with the Sacro, little guy became the dude your girlfriend tells you not to worry about
Also some tips for realism, when hunting you basically just need to consider if your creature would risk the injury from said hunt and/or if it is worth the case, this will basically keep any rulebreaks from happening when hunting
Also for downtime what I like to do as a Sarco when I'm not basking or waiting in ambush is cleaning out the bottom of the water I'm in, it's not something in their profile but I just like think my Sarco is stirring up these clams and shells to see if any food is under them

As someone that is used to official, and semi-realism, I wasn't expecting to enjoy full realism. I applied to PTR (pretty sure diff server than one in video), got in, and have to say, it's SO much fun! I'm a bit socially-awkward, and not having to chat, or vc is amazing.
This was an incredible video, i really like this format youre doing now, i havent found many youtubers who play realism with commentary, its nice, makes it feel less daunting almost, you definetly should keep doing realism videos, maybe even a video where you get nested in and your end goal is to nest in other people too, that might be a fun video ngl.

Final comment! I highly, HIGHLY recommend Iggy, the courtship is easy to perform (harder to keep in check) there’s a information video on their channel. Which is server name, and they are the most popular dino on said server
Honestly it’s so refreshing to see a positive video on realism, most videos just laugh about the rules and go around doing whatever they want. I personally can’t take the pure chaos of officials and play pretend much only realism and I just wanted to say how much of a good job you did learning from your mistakes. 80% of the players in there are more than willing to teach new players to learn the ropes and there’s often a grace period for people new to the server so they can learn from their mistakes when rule breaking. I think you were really understanding the experience by the end of the video and never be afraid to ask questions if you’re not sure. Really great video!

@nvGunn while Realism is certainly a change of pace compared to the Anarchy of Official servers, the rules do help keep a good balance of fun, and what you do as your animal feels more important. Hunts actually mean something, as messing up might lead to you having to start ALL THE WAY OVER (depending on your server). Growing Apexes are a total chore, but some of the most rewarding on Realism servers, it's all about finding one you like, with profiles you like, and a ruleset you find fair and followable.
PTR is my main realism so that's for me. Chill and fights as a Sauropod main.
I think your sarco behavior to giga interaction might be a no no If admin finds out. Lol

Does PTR make you lose all your growth when you die?
@@Hehe-oz2ib from what i've heard it's "permadeath" in PTR - so when you die, you lose all your growth and if your dino had relations (parents, grandparents, offspring.. etc) it loses all those too

realism doesn't mean low marks. idno why ppl think that. also realism should always be passive growth as quest to grow is dumb #1 and #2 not realistic in anyway.

Alot of people are far too scared of rules. Majority of them are just basic common sense rules tbh. Additionally you'll learn rules as you go, no one plays realism and has not accidentally broken a rule a before. The server I'm in has people figure it out in Whispers chat before they make any reports because it could've just been an accident and alot of problems get solved by just correcting the rulebreaker with a reminder of said rule in whispers.
The more you play and the more dinos you try the more you'll understand anyways. The most important rules will be the general combat rules and your dinos rules. You can slowly learn the rest over time by either reading them every now and then, playing different dinos or observing other players interacting with other players.
At minimum before you play you should commit to reading the dino you're playing as rules. Also yeah alot of realism servers have boosted marks and passive growth. Learning in packs and herds is also very easy to do since you can ask the experienced players how it works.
I think the main criticism here would be to avoid getting in the space of most dinos, they typically have certain "personal bubbles" per species. Being friendly in their face isn't what animals do afterall lol. But being curious about other dinos is a playstyle, I think that Amarga you met earlier was a good example. A small interest in the little sarco walking around in front of it and you being wary of the larger dino was nice to see.
Preface by saying idm realism servers, I play on some (although usually semi-realism), but something I will always strongly dislike is arbitrary hunting timers. I dont see how they are in any way realistic, an opportunity is an opportunity.
Kudos for being willing to learn and respecting their ruleset tho.
I recommend trying WWD / Walking with Dinosaurs too! It’s my favourite hardcore realism server and I’ve met some amazing players who act out these animals so naturally and immerse themselves.

I've played on my fair share of realism servers over the years, and have even written some of the profiles for the WWD realism community. It's so nice to see new players dipping their toes into realism and genuinely enjoying it! I played nothing but official POT servers for the longest time before jumping straight into hardcore realism and I have to say it is genuinely the most rewarding type of gameplay for me.
My advice would be to make sure to review your profiles engagement guidelines thoroughly, especially when it comes to cannibalism! Some species need to meet certain criteria before eating other members of their species; Sarco for example can only eat Sarcos that are visibly smaller! The one you nabbed was equal size to you

Most Full Realism Servers will give you unlimited marks so you can be your Animal for who it is straight from the start, if they are born with a skin they want you to be able to immediately be able to have that so others can appropriately respond to your character.
Sexual dimorphism with bright colors whether you are an albino or not, etc. Or having the basic abilities in which you grow & mature into having. :)
These servers don't expect you to immediately know every single rule- but as long as you do your best effort to actually follow them. ^^
THIS IS SO COOL im so glad ur experience with this server has been good! I my self am newish to the realism server experience and honestly its the most fun i have in POT. It makes everything way more fun and interesting outside of just fighting each ither just fir the sake of it. I hope to see you around in the server!
Just make sure you rlly do a few once overs on tye profiles for the dino u r playing it seems daunting at first but the more u get used to it the easier it gets!

Also, it's great to put yourself in the mindset of your Animal. Would you be afraid? Would you be comfortable in a certain biome?
Babies/Juveniles are usually.... stupidly innocent or extremely skiddish.
Obviously that giga had it's fill, wasn't intimidated by a juvenile attempting to sneak a snack. Or just was asleep when you're otherwise interacting with it.
Outside the main rules, I think it's easier to read the profile rules in sections to not overwhem yourself.
The first bit; telling you when you are or aren't usually active/hunt; if there is dimorphism, what environments are my animal comfort in?
Then read just the hatchling/juvenile part for when you're that age, pop back up the rules to read more as you reach each growth stage until you're adult. If interested in courting or if you bump into others of your kind read up interactions/courting etc guideline rules. Taking the rules in peices can really help. Oooor-- rereading rules while your dino sleeps or having downtime.
Sarcos, especially lady sarco are a nice beginner friendly profile. I also think lavenatrix is a fantastic beginner one as They're soooo curious and intelligent that it can make unique personalities or behaviors.
That or silly ... less intelligent dinos... like Ano. Who is a living rock that doesn't care about anything unless it's attacked or scared which it just... hunkers like said rock. Or bumps into things blindly with it's poor eyesight. Lol
Reading different profiles to see which ones speaks most fun to you or your Play style can really help. Like metris on this server are just MEEEEAN BULLIES! You want to snap, fight, and have a otherwise aggressive playstyle? There you go. You want a stubborn but lazy time? Stegos are great. There is sooo many great ways to enjoy the full realism; all from a mindset that you are that animal.
realism is the only was i play this game bc getting jumped by a rex trike and flying rat mix packing is never fun

Realism servers are well intentioned but the end result is dealing with a bunch of whiney little kids who try and report you for anything and everything, anytime they die. Then you've got a wide range of admins from competent adults to completely dysfunctional wackjobs with zero consistency in how they handle tickets. Realism can be fun, but it's also very annoying and childish at times, to the point in which you're wondering why am I here and dealing with this highschool drama.

I only just got this game and I’ve been enjoying the public servers been running around as a T-Rex by myself and yes I’ve taken a few loses but I’ve also had a couple wins and I’m still not fully grown yet I’ve just gone adolescence
looks like u have to read more rules in PTR, as the global chat one is the "must", also i see many things in this vid that i wouldnt find realistic - as well as u RBed few times already. Admins at PTR aint giving any damn, be careful😬
Sarco is so fun to play. But can really suck when everything kos you. Fellow sarcs suchos spinos meg packs. Sarco life on officials is a hard life. Grow to adult on officials.
I've been too scared to dip my toe into realism servers, the rules are overwhelming since I'm usually solo (and stupid) i don't wanna make too many mistakes and get banned. But i'm usually trying to go for a realism play style whenever i play on officials (this doesn't go well usually LOL) so this video may make me give it a try. I pray for a little leniency if i screw up a bit //sob
You can do this! It’s scary at the start but let me tell you… giving it a shot was the best thing I’ve done in this game

Honestly man, I really love the video, but I can NEVER get myself to play a realism server, I barely play a lite realism, there's just too many rules.
I love to just be able to hunt whatever and do whatever I want, but I also don't like getting ganked, so it goes either way honestly, and I agree Deino is just a better Sarco I hate it when a good server has Deino, Sarco just becomes useless. I understand the body down rules and stuff, like really lite realism to keep away the bad stuff off the game like ganking, mix packing, and whatever, but full realism servers have too many rules, some are even unnecessary.
Yeah sadly Deino overshadows sarco completely, and yeah realism definitely isn’t for everyone, I’m glad you enjoyed the video

Some servers do take long to grow. Just lucky that this happened to be a decent growth rate.
one day ill try this servers... i play on semi-realissm and already do things realistic for myself, rarely talk in global, and play ssolo most of the time.

When you have been playing on the server long enough to play apexes please start with the rex and try to act like the profile its very cool

I was honestly nervous when sarco was the winner for realism, as It can be quite boring, but Im so happy to hear you had fun!! Glad to hear people talked through your rb instead of jumping straight into reports. That doesn't happen often on that server.
Definitely check out iggy, they have large herds and get hunted often, leading to a bunch of fights and fun interactions.
This actually isn’t true the only time most of us report is when we’ve had the same rulebreak happen countless times over and over. And with them allowing in around 6000 players in a few months that’s ALOT of rule breaks. I typically have the same rule break happen to me 3-6 times a session before I eventually start reporting cuz one does it then more think it’s ok to do and so on and it never stops until reports happen. There is way to many new players rn that keep giving wrong info to eachother and the only way to stop it cuz most don’t take info from the other camper in the engagement is to report

really hope you enjoy this server, ik the server is obviously rule heavy but honestly it can make the game more challenging and gives your gameplay a more sense of purpose imo. looking foward to more potential relasim vids in the future if you enjoy it
