    That is a beautiful design. The blue yarn is gorgeous and really shows off the cables. This is the first time I’m watching you. I really enjoy your podcast. The blue shirt is also fantastic. I do think you could make a size smaller just like you talked about that sweater that was a little large. You really did a fabulous job of sewing it.

    I love the texture and cables on your new kids sweater. I’ve knitted bottom up constructions for the first 45-50 years of my knitting so a bottom up sweater as interesting as your new one is no problem for me. In the old days most patterns for sweaters, cardigans etc were bottom up in panels and seamed. The bottom up construction methods of today have come a long way and are much more aligned with today’s aesthetic. I look forward to seeing the design develop. Congratulations also on your latest pattern release.

    so glad to hear you are feeling better. I showed the Amidala male version to my partner, and he gasped (that´s always a good sign eh!). Gorgeous new designs in the making. Always nice to knit with you in the background. Have a great weekend!

      Oh yay! I think it was a good call to make two versions as it looks completely different on a male body. And no modifications except longer sleeves and body! Thanks for the support dear. ❤️

    Thank you again for a lovely episode! Its so enjoyable to see everything you knit - and sews! Love the shirt! You asked about "our" opinion with knitting bottom up. Well, my favourite is top down, but its no problem what so ever to knit bottom up. As other already have been writing, its the way I also learned how to knit. The only "problem" I can have with it, is to know if I have enough yarn to finish it - it is always easier to modify that top down. 😅Otherwise, no problem! The little sweater you are working on is stunning! And I can´t wait until you realise the pattern for the blanket🎉 Stor kram! Lotte

      That you for chiming in! 🤗 I can see how that the biggest problem was in my head. It’s so trendy to knit top down that the more traditional way is often forgotten. For this design it’s the only way to go. Thanks for watching, Lotte! ❤️

      @@annijuutiknits It can also be a fun thing to learn for those who just know how to knit top down - I mean, it’s not hard💖It’s just one way to knit. You still don’t need to sew anything together(I guess 😅)

    As I don't mind bottom up knits, they are not my favourite, but for kids garments I don't mind at all :) I love to try all the time different methods and technics, so it's fine :) I'll knit it for sure!

    I have enjoyed top down sweater the most so far, because I find it easier to see how it is fitting as I go along. But I am learning new things all the time, so maybe I will come to like bottom up better as I go

    • @annijuutiknits
      @annijuutiknits  8 месяцев назад

      Top down are my favorites too, but there’s a place for bottom ups! It’s good to have the skill set to make note ways work. ☺️

    I have been knitting since childhood, so more than 50 years ! The only way I knitted was bottom up. I didn't know there was such techniques as top down in the round until I discovered the knitting community here on RUclips. After knitting a few Ranunculi , I have since done a colourwork sweater by Jennifer Steingass. I enjoy both techniques, and find the seaming at the end to be therapeutic, but I also enjoy sewing as a hobby, so perhaps thats why I don't mind seaming. I love the Linen shirt that you made. xxx

      That’s the thing, I think for more seasoned knitters it really doesn’t matter. The style nowadays seems to be too down only. But I stick with this idea because I love it so much. ☺️ thanks for tuning in. ❤️

    I have only knit a few bottom-up sweaters, but if it looks as beautiful as I am sure it will, I would be happy to knit bottom up! A Tankar in the soft silk is also jumping in my needles very soon!

    I knit only bottom up, can’t even understand how top down could ever fit properly. Sorry to say, the top down construction reminds me of me of making a doily with a big hole in the middle. But to be honest, I have never given it a try, so I have no right to make a judgement of this type of construction.
