    I only use containers , I don't have space. Do you have any suggestions for me being able to have a grapevine? I'm sure there are many people with limited space that would love to grow grapes

    Do you need to snip or score the top of the vine, to encourage it to grow?

      Joe's Reviews no. Just be patient. They will grow if you plant per their instructions and water. I am growing vines in Las Vegas Nevada and so far they are growing well. I will post some picture on my website (www.artisanwinesociety.com) so you can see how mine are doing. I love the10 vines that I bought at Grapevinesgalore. Service is also great. Very nice people.

    If the grape has been in soil too long and roots have begun to grow just under the graft union, is it alright to trim that root(s) off?

    Great video! Gorgeous yard too! Just wondering where you get that little fertilizer pack and where did you order those vine shelter cartons? Ive never seen any quite like those, i like that you can fold the top closed. Here in AZ believe it or not we can get some nasty late spring frosts. Also, are those a different type of head trained vine?? I dont have a lot of experience with head training but i like the look of almost head training the trunk!
    Thanks!

    How many days can you leave the vine in water before planting in the ground?

    • @wraypaul566
      @wraypaul566 2 месяца назад +1

      24 hours is the max. As I understand it, the roots need oxygen or they will “drown”. They also develop some “slime” on them that may be harmful. I have a commercial vineyard and it usually takes a few days to plant vines. So I soak the for 3 hours and the heel them in to 5 gal buckets filled with soil or potting mix. Holes in the bottom to allow drainage. I’ve kept them for a month that way, even after they have budded out. When I plant them, I give them a 3-6 hour soak and then plant & water

    Covering it with soil will cause roots to grow from the graft. Don’t do that!

      Emma Ayubi Hi friends. Vine shelters are to protect the vine form the wind and harsh weather when the vines is just starting out. I posted some pictures of the vines I bought from grapevinesgalore on my blog site so you can see how I’m using the shelters. We’re expecting some more wind this week so I’m going to leave them on. Typically blows around here until late May so I’ll leave them on for another week or so. The vines are growing well as you will see in my blog pics at artisanwinesociety.com

      Bryan Hahn Hi Brian, I posted an answer to Emma’s question about how I am using the vine shelters. You can see pics on my blog site artisanwinesociety.com. Good luck with your grape growing. This is my first time growing wine grapes and it is fun. GrapeVinesGalore people are awesome to work with. My 10 vines are doing great. So happy with the service and the product. Good luck on your vines!
