Painting the front sight is a huge improvement. I have taken to using either "white out", it's very brite and quick drying, or a shake-up type paint pen available at most home centers. The big orange box store sells an affordable Milwaukee paint pen that is bright yellow. Agreed, Piranhas are hit and miss unless used in a rifled barrel or a Daisy M35 smooth bore.
Well, I find it fascinating they work for you in the 35. I don't doubt it. But I bought the Piranhas (10.5 grains) for cheaper alternatives to the JSB Heavy. The JSBs work well in the 1100 and 760 AND my 35. Ironically, I'm saving the JSB Heavy ammo ONLY for smoothore now. But no biggie. I'm fine-tuning the Piranhas in my 880 Shadow that I'm using as an open sight hunter with lead balls in the magazine. The Piranhas demanded a jack on the elevation. 4 clicks UP from Wadcutters. They don't group as tight as wadcutters, about a solid inch at 15 yards, but make up for it with more shock delivered! 7 pumps. Piranhas are DEVASTATING ON IMPACT! 👊
Yeah, I try to make the point that getting the CHEAPEST pellets possible doesn't help the 760. Even well-liked ammo, like the Crosman Destroyers and Piranhas, can look bad. Sight in with 7.4 Crosman Wascutters and rhe Crosman pointed will look ok at 12 meters. The wadcutters look good up to 15 yards.
For front site white wash, here is another choice.

for the front sight next time just use the Dykem white paint pens. I have done it on a bunch of guns
