- We camped on Playa el Tecolote near La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico for two weeks. While there, we hiked in the surrounding hills, snorkeled from the beach, and relaxed on the beautiful white sand beach. This is a popular beach for both day trips from La Paz and camping as it is only 30 minutes out of town.
We were joined by friends Hannah & Andy (Instagram: hannah.and.andy.offgrid), Alejandra & Nico (RUclips: @sinrutinanidestino ), and Mike & Daina (RUclips: @LetsJustGoTravel ). The best part about our Baja adventure is meeting all of the wonderful people traveling and who call this place home.

It's a beautiful beach, but definitely has some tricky spots with loose sand. We helped over a dozen people get unstuck while there!

Thank you for sharing your experience traveling thru Baja. These are great videos and I am glad I stumbled on your channel. I am originally from La Paz but I’ve been living in the PNW for the past 22 years or so. I finally took my wife and kids to La Paz and Cabo in Nov of 2021 and it was great. My wife and I are going to Kauai this year but we are talking our friends into and overland trip down the Baja, so maybe next year. Thank you and happy exploring.

We have been to Tecolote twice now, love it there, and yes it was windy both times we were there so far.

Isn't it nice!? The wind turned out to be ok when it got hot. Helps cool things off, so we would step out onto the other side of the rig if the sun got too warm.

Another great experience with a pinch of ingenuity. Loved seeing the colorful fish you got on camera. Great job Jay for setting up a wind shield. You were thoughtful in your site selection too. A beautiful spot, although the tasty chicken was the star of the show :) Maybe you need 2 beach fences.
We are definitely considering getting a second beach fence now that we are happy with the first one.
