So the last time you did a video like this, you had Black Rain on there and WOW that movie is a hidden gem! It’s one of my favorite 80’s action movies now!
One thing in my life that I will always be thankful for is the fact that I got to experience growing up working in our local video store. I got to catch all the under-the-radar gems. Man, those were the best times.
I watched Blind Date at least 100 times as a kid cuz my parents had it on a tape with Die Hard. I honestly think it's funnier now as an adult since I get all the jokes. If Willis himself wasn't hilarious enough, every side-actor steals the show and I don't know who's funnier, Hartman, Laroquette, or William Daniels (the judge). This flick also introduced me to Stanley Jordan and made me realize from a very early age that I loved smooth jazz too. I'm not really into romantic comedies but this movie always gets a mention whenever I discuss movies with other film fans. Criminally underrated and hilarious from start to finish.
A true underated film with Bruce Willis that nobody ever talks about is Last Man Standing. It gets overshadowed by Bruce Willis bigger roles, and Christopher Walken is also great in it.
I really loved Roadhouse. But his portrayal as Bodi in Point Break was one of my favorites. He was NEVER a baddy in any movies. And this was a great change. And he was vicious and lived for the adrenaline!
Damn I really like your analysis and why things were why they were. Highlighted some big names in things I've never known they were in. Good list that is definitely intriguing, well done.
Oh, I'd forgotten about Blind Date! I had a great time watching that! I didn't really dig Silverado, but Next Of Kin was also terrific. Thanks: I'm now off to find these to re-watch.
If you are able to get folks to embrace farce in their 80s movie, I'd recommend revisiting Sylvester Stallone's 'Oscar'. It's a 20's mobster era farce, and Marisa Tomei, Tim Curry, and especially Stallone himself are hilarious, not to mention half the cast of Animal House, and Kirkwood Smith from that 70's show.
really would love a "#SILVERADO" Pt. 2 with all those actors at the ages they are now... like the level of skill, geeez... writing for the dialogue would have to be TOP NOTCH... that cast is beyond all-star... would love to watch that with my pops
Speaking of Underrated 80’s check out “Dead Bang” it’s basically a violent Miami Vice movie. It also stars Don Johnson. If you’re a fan of To live and die in La and Year of The Dragon with Mickey Rourke you’ll love it. It really is a hidden gem of an action movie.
Have seen Blind Date and thinking it was pretty good. Have Silverado and have usually heard good things about it. Need to check that one out soon. Need to check out Next of Kin too.
I haven't yet watched the video, but I'm a HUGE movie trivia buff, ESPECIALLY the 80's, so I am super curious to see how many of these I actually don't know, as the video title implies. I bet I'll know the vast majority, but let's watch it and found out. Update: Well that was a waste of time. I thought it would be a list, not just spending 30 minutes talking about only 3 movies. What a huge letdown. And yes, of course I knew Blind Date, Silverado, and Next of Kin. I thought you'd mention Russkies.
I enjoyed Blind Date when I saw it, but I can't really recall anything about it. Hudson Hawk had a LOT of problems, but being easily forgotten isn't one of them Silverado is one of my all time favorite westerns, passed only by Open Range and Pale Rider. I don't remember seeing any of the Swayze movies you mentioned - Red Dawn, Roadhouse, Ghost, Dirty Dancing -- that's all...
Silverado is literally one of my all time favorite westerns. I hope more people find it throw this video. IF you like any of the actors, including Jeff Goldblum (yep...he's in this), then you'll love this movie. It's one of the ONLY Kevin Costner roles that I like. He's not the "main" character. I think that's why so many people avoided this movie. It's why I avoided it at first but finally decided to rent (VHS in the 1980s) it for my dad and we watched it on a Sunday. When it was available to buy, we both bought it for each other. LOL. I upgrade it every chance I get.
Big trouble in little China and escapes from ny/LA were still pre ghost? Just putting in first thoughts as I could look up first before posting. Seems Swayze could've commanded the path he wanted?
I agree with Lawrence Kasdan. Luckily for us, back in the '80s the movie industry wasn't yet sequel crazy and many film makers were given opportunities to make a variety of films instead of producing the creatively bankrupt remakes and sequels that have since stifled the attention spans of generations. That said, I can understand why some would have hoped for a sequel to "Silverado" though I would have preferred spending more time with Kim Bassinger's character in a follow-up to "Blind Date". 😉
I was born in 1973 and when most of my friends were outside playing, I was watching TV. I will send him a guy I love this movie. It was great had a great cast. It was funny often the word you don’t hear these days. another Great Blake Edwards movie is SOB
Kevin Costner and John Cleese reunited in A Fish Called Wanda. Which had Michael Pauline as well from Monty Python. Ntm Jamie Lee Curtis being excellent and very sexy.
27:35 Cousin Hollis! lolol aka Rodney Hatfield, who is one of the best Harmonica players you will ever see. I used to see his band, The Metropolitan Blues All-Stars, in a little 75 seat venue called The Downhome Pickin' Parlor in Johnson City, TN during the 80's-90's. Awesome every time. Rodney on harmonica and Caroline Dahl on piano, have very few peers. Lonesome Pine Specials- Rodney Hatfield & The Metro Blues AllStars ruclips.net/video/_bbE5DX5Gx8/видео.html
well, whaddya know... i watched 2 out of 3 of those, thoroughly enjoyed them. not sure if i've watched Next of Kin. i remember the title and some of the scenes featured here. maybe i had seen it and found it to be meh.
Blake Edwards' style of comedy is not for a broad audience seriously I watched Blind Date before this video and had just a slight chuckle, I was curious more because of it's pedigree cast and hot Kim Basinger looking best in her prime but then you waste the talents of Phil Hartman and John Larroquette for this crap I'm not surprised more people don't know of it.
I really didn't like Next of Kin and it wasn't even Swayze at his best. And Silverado was a bit drawn and boring. It didn't have the edge that Eastwood's movies did. They were more like John Wayne movies which went out of style when John Wayne was gone. Dances With Wolves was a bit like it. However that story had a much better story and had much more edginess.
I have no idea why Silverado was not a hit, one of my favourite westerns.
Agree 100% - well loved here
same, have seen it so much but it still makes me chuckle, a gem of a movie
It is a fantastic movie.
I just made my wife watch it like a week ago- my favorite of the “neo-Western” movies from the 80s and 90s. What a cast!
It was a little cheesy with formulaic showdowns between multiple pairs of enemies, but that's the way I like my westerns.
Blind date is one of my all time favorites
To Live And Die in LA. Extremely underrated movie of the 80s
Manhunter also. William Petersen making back to back masterpieces. Do you see?
Absolutely love To Live and Die in LA.
So the last time you did a video like this, you had Black Rain on there and WOW that movie is a hidden gem! It’s one of my favorite 80’s action movies now!
Silverado is in an eternal battle with Tombstone for the title of my favorite western.
As a guy who was born in the 80.s have to say there was nothing like it 😆😎👍
the Burbs - surely you need to make a video about this 80's classic?!
Seen every one of these movies on original release. Loved them all.
Wow...Silverado AND Next of Kin mentioned in one video! Thank you! Love both of these flicks.
MIDNIGHT RUN. Saw the first shot tease there but you never got into it. "Now THAT'S living in denial". Best movie of the 80s.
One thing in my life that I will always be thankful for is the fact that I got to experience growing up working in our local video store. I got to catch all the under-the-radar gems. Man, those were the best times.

Blind Date was on HBO all the time and I watched it every time
A true underated film with Bruce Willis that nobody ever talks about is Last Man Standing. It gets overshadowed by Bruce Willis bigger roles, and Christopher Walken is also great in it.
I love Blind Date! A hidden gem.
Larroquette stole the show!!
Never saw ? Are you kidding? I own copies of these movies ! I love em !
Blind date was so good. It doesn’t get anywhere near the love it deserves.
Wow, never knew Blake Edwards was behind Blind Date with Bruce Willis, now I understand why I loved that movie so much.
What does it say about me that I have seen, watched, and loved these movies for decades?
Oh, I'd forgotten about Blind Date! I had a great time watching that! I didn't really dig Silverado, but Next Of Kin was also terrific.
Thanks: I'm now off to find these to re-watch.
Silverado had a great cast!
I LOVE 'Blind Date'! I've got it on video.
The rainy, muddy, farm scene in Black Rain is so well done that it felt like you were there.
The Awesomeness that is The 80s Continues! ✊😎👊 I Miss the 1980s😲😒🤔 lol 😁🍁♈
Next of Kin was more than just, "kind of fun". It was awesome! I think it had plenty of action. Definitely a spectacularly underrated classic.
Oscar is a good comedy with marvelous supporting cast, but it's 1991.
really would love a "#SILVERADO" Pt. 2 with all those actors at the ages they are now... like the level of skill, geeez... writing for the dialogue would have to be TOP NOTCH... that cast is beyond all-star... would love to watch that with my pops
Patick Swayze made so many underrated movie's
I saw 'Blind Date' in the cinema when it was released and all I remember was Graham Stark mooning!

This is my kind of batch of Commercials. I wonder if there were any TV edits for the film....
Great list😊
Black Dog has a great soundtrack. One of the best.
I haven't yet watched the video, but I'm a HUGE movie trivia buff, ESPECIALLY the 80's, so I am super curious to see how many of these I actually don't know, as the video title implies.

What a huge letdown. And yes, of course I knew Blind Date, Silverado, and Next of Kin. I thought you'd mention Russkies.
Several of these were a big success on rental VHS.
I enjoyed Blind Date when I saw it, but I can't really recall anything about it. Hudson Hawk had a LOT of problems, but being easily forgotten isn't one of them

I love Silverado, in my book it is one of the Top 5 Western movies ever made.
The littlest of research would reveal that The Cars “Magic” came out 2 years before “Blind Date” was filmed
I agree with Lawrence Kasdan. Luckily for us, back in the '80s the movie industry wasn't yet sequel crazy and many film makers were given opportunities to make a variety of films instead of producing the creatively bankrupt remakes and sequels that have since stifled the attention spans of generations.

I always liked Blind Date. It really is a funny movie and Willis is fantastic in it.
The Stallone bit got me good.
I have Silverado & Next of Kin on VHS. I have never seen Blind Date though.
Swayze was the prettiest dude on the planet for a lot of years, so how dare you!
Next of Kin was Awesome
My leg ran off to Hollywood to star in Next To Kin 2.
Squidbillies Bought Me Here
I liked Patrick in practically everything ❤
Love Hudson hawk
❤
Silverado another great cast great movie, and great western
Tbh, the worst 80s movie would be an Oscar contender nowadays
I still quote Silverado, people then look at me funny
Good choices here 🤩👍
silverado is awesoemsauce
Brian Dennehy!
Kevin Costner and John Cleese reunited in A Fish Called Wanda. Which had Michael Pauline as well from Monty Python. Ntm Jamie Lee Curtis being excellent and very sexy.
Kevin Cline not costner
Blind date was my first date with my now wife. Way back
Silverado is the second best western ever made behind Lonesome Dove. John Wayne and Clint Eastwood can fight for third place.
27:35 Cousin Hollis! lolol

Whatever happened to Kevin Kline??
This video spent over 5 minutes talking about one movie when you could have talked about more movies in this video
i was a kid in the 80s blind date was a big deal funny movie ,
👍👍👍🎥
well, whaddya know... i watched 2 out of 3 of those, thoroughly enjoyed them. not sure if i've watched Next of Kin. i remember the title and some of the scenes featured here. maybe i had seen it and found it to be meh.

Bealey Veera

Can you please stop having music in the background! It's fucking distracting!
Blind date sucked it needs to stay buried
Adam Baldwin is horribly miscast in every movie….
Seen all of them in 90s so not that special in my opinion
Seen silverado its rubbish especially kline with beard and overacting every scene
Kline with a beard. There's a valid reason for hating a movie. What a tool you are.
