MG astor if u are selling for 14.5 lakhs , its a luxury car , if you can listen every raise like tractor inside u r cabin and if u can feel every small bump on the road , i can hardly trust 1.5 ltrs power to overtake a small bus ...i poured 1000 Rs petrol for every 2 days ....showing moleage 7 and 9 km/ltr .....whats the point in having a namesake new luxury powerul car ...without luxury without mileage without power ...can we eat good interior and MG astor road presence ..... When i went to first service , i complianee about hard 4 th gear in long drive , loos hand break , irritating seat belt alarams when i am single driving , lound noises , lag in pickup ,low mileage ...service manager denier any issues just bcoz these issues are not reflected in diagnostic computer ..... What can i do ..i own the car...if some body want to hate car ...thes have many alterante option to pout hatred my friend ...be in reality ... My car no. is TN 0* Xx 8934 , my car is 6 months old ...done 2 services.. I will tell the good things ....MG astor ...Road presence is damn good ...outer body trim is so designed that i hardky get scratches in bumper to bumper traffic ...good interiors and paint quality ... Somewhere in the region of 10 kmpl in city conditions & around 14 kmpl on highways. How is the acceleration specially ? Is overtaking with four people inside at high speeds an issue ? Will the 1.5 ltr MT engine generate adequate power to overtake comfortably if one drops the gear or down shifts ? Moreover, the lower pick up will be evident to those who have driven or are used to driving lighter Japanese/ Korean cars. As I see it, this car is meant to cruise & not race. However, most people are happy with the after-sales service of MG.
I bought Astor sprint variant last month... In one word, it is value for money... As everyone says, power is low in lower RPM... But it is good in higher rpm....
The astor is a heavy car with thick side pillars. Safe for highway driving. I will stick with the NA 1.5 variant than the turbo due to turbo issues of carbon build-up and general unreliability of the turbos.
I have MG ZS 2021 1.5NA with CVT in Saudi Arabia. Its good comfortable and fuel efficient with Touchscreen and Panaromic Sunroof, Interior and exterior and alloy wheels identical as the car they are showinng in this review
I have test driven the MG Astor 1.5 MT variant. The power transmission seems to be lower @ lower RPM's, but at the same time is *quite adequate.* Secondly, I have gathered, that the fuel efficiency is quite low in city conditions. It could be so. However, one must understand, that it's peers like the seltos & creta too don't fare *very highly* in comparison with respect to mileage. They may be *slightly* overpowered than the Astor. That's it. Astor however is unbeatable in the following aspects. 1) Build Quality 2) Safety 3) Exterior looks & rich Interiors 4) Features 5) Panoramic sunroof 6) Value for money (especially MT variants)
We don't drive for fun all day. It's a car for relaxed driving with family. Basically is feels like chauffer driven. Interior is pleasant compared to other cars in the segment.
VW Polo is replaced by MG Astor in India by SAIC. The performance is equal to Polo performance. MG Astor boot opening is equal to VW Polo boot opening!!! 🙌🏼 This is a European 5 ⭐️ rated family safety car. Very heavy car so don’t expect mileage above 14 kmpl.
I got a Select Varient Last month... It only gives 6 tp 7.5 KMPL in city traffic.... But its awesome to drive in the Highways and if you want to enjoy with the family and friends in a safe and casual drive... Its the best option

I took it for a test drive. I am 5'11 and even after adjusting the seats, I couldn't see the Dash board ODO meeter properly. It was little steep and I couldn't see the drive mode properly. I had to come forward a little bit and do a little peep to look at the gear speed.

I have same car just week ago highway driving super, even in city also , miliga i got 16.2 in highway with 3 passangers around 100 speed with AC good car for family.
When I was on the market in 2022 looking for a mid size SUV both Astor and Kicks were top in my list. Both cars had similar pros and cons. Pros: -Build quality -Handling -Suspension -Value for money (Lower variants) - unique look Cons: - Underpowered NA engine (compared to competition) - Relatively low mileage - Limited dealer network and below par ASS I went with Kicks because didn't like 3 cylinder engine of Astor. Also kicks xv variant offered more features at the same price point. Happy to hear they have tuned Astors pickup in the lower end. Both cars are terrible to drive in b2b traffic.

For Indian road conditions much power is not required itself... That to now ce can see no of increase in Road Traffic and highway traffic.. So comfort and convince and safety is very much better than Power.... Mileage is an issue though can get the Turbo petrol varient... U will get bit higher power and mileage also
Power and mileage cannot come together. EV version of this car is simply superb. It's price is also reduced now. I will suggest EV over petrol any day.
Everything is fine, but the future of MG in India is unpredictable and is a big question mark as the sales figures are very very low. Off late lot of MG Hectors is lying with used car dealers. Looks like panic selling as you all know that this is sadly a Chinese product.......Therefore the future of MG looks very grim, as they have closed many showrooms in India. Resale value is also very low. Therefore make a detailed study of MG and go forward.
