Nice, will look forward to future video's on this. I bought my Facelift 52 plate D2 over 7 years ago for £1250, solid chassis. Here I am today and have spend over another 9 k on him, mostly on mods. The FL looks so much nice than the PFL. Good luck. Subbed

Nice. The facelift models look so much better. The main thing to look for is the cylinder head cracking on the No1 injector pocket. It's pretty common. Mine went, put 6 litres of diesel in the sump, and caused a runaway. Luckily, I managed to stall the engine. Melted No1 piston. I rebuilt the engine, which was fine apart from the piston and rod. Then fitted the AMC head. Much better than the factory one. Did another 20K miles and never had any issues. Keep the air suspension much better than coil springs.

Yeah, we had a cracked head on a previous one. We always small the oil for diesel and check the level.
      Thanks for watching.

11:46 it doesn't have the factory Diff-Lock reinstated. It must of been on the very last Series II models from September '04 ('54 Reg) I know the G4 editions had the CDL fitted.

Looks a bit of work on the suspension and a bit of welding, looking forward to watch the work in progress especially on removal of the headliner and also wheel refurbishment

Thanks for watching. New suspension bags ordered along with whell bearing and sheet steel as we have run out. Head liner will be a job towards the end but the wheel refurb will be done in the next few days as I just finished painting the rover.

This is the most reliable unreliable POS car I've ever owned. I love it, the engine is on its last legs but it just keeps trucking.

Good morning all. The oil in my 2003 TD5 is always clean between changes (1 year, but only 2 -3 K, now retired). Same when I was working. Have 277,000 km´s on the clock. The battery in mine fills the battery box. No rust under mine as we get very little rain in South Australia and no snow. Had it for 10 years now an wouldn´t be without it.

Definitely the wrong battery on this one.

It’s crazy what your Brittish roads do to the rear of these chassis’. I’ve had vehicles that I’ve purchased that lived at the beach and I’ve never seen any rot in the rear like this! Should make for good content, as it’s a car worth saving. Cheers Peter.

Ever changed the power steering box? Mine has a leak but looks a bit of a complicated job!

All the door locks and windows working as they should? I’ve got one almost identical and replaced 3 locks in last 6 months. Plus the little plastic wheels on the window mechanisms seem to disappear very easily…..

They all work as they should but the ones in our previous vids all needed something on windows or locks

Has this model got the center diff lock? Bonus if it has.

Another beauty in the making! Is it worth a new rear segment chassis? Might be less work. I'd change both suspension air bags too. Hopefully the compressor will be okay. Good Luck Lads!

Thanks. A new quarter chassis would be a good way to go but it is fixable and sheet steel costs less. Thanks for watching.
