How Victorian Ealing changed as seen by two maps

Ealing changed considerably in the late nineteenth century from being a large village to being a substantial town. A comparison of the ordnance survey maps showing Ealing’s town centre in 1865 and 1894 help indicate the changes which occurred. Principally there was a great deal of building, especially along the Uxbridge Road, but also to both the north and south of that road. New buildings included the town hall and several churches.
