My first MOJ questions

I had my first MOJ questions this week - and I was asked about serious Youth Court cases, such as malicious wounding and burglary, not falling under the unduly lenient sentencing scheme (in this scheme, a Crown Court sentence can be reviewed if it’s felt to be unduly lenient). Yes, it is true that a youth court can only sentence a child for up to two years detention. BUT where a child’s offence is serious, it must be passed on to the Crown Court, and this scheme does therefore apply.
