This week I ordered 2 pairs of Thursday Explorer Boots in Matte Black and Cedar which pretty much looks tan. I’m really hoping that Thursday made adjustments to the Explorer boot and gusseted the tongue. I’ll be doing an honest review and comparing the Explorer boots to my new Timberlands and Doc Martens which are all within the same price range and very similar style Boots.
They are not gusseted still but we just had a blizzard and I've been shoveling snow with them on and had snow all over me. Socks stayed dry. Hope you like them though they are comfy.
If I were going for a nice looking boot I'd go with the corcoran 10" field boot because it has a real toe cap and holds up well, 360 Goodyear welt. Explorers could probably do it and be more comfortable and probably deal with water better. I assume you may benifit from the toe cap of the corcorans if you are assisting someone on the ground and bumping around in a vehicle. I wear a size 10 in both and a size 10.5 in vans and most other shoes if that helps.
These boots are more comfortable lighter and has stormguard welt around the soul making it more durable and water proof can also be resoled. these are my favorite boot
