I’m in the USA and we recently got ecosoya. We have one candle supplier that gets it. I wanted to try the CB-135 (because of mother naked and her TY channel) but it was sold out. Only the Advanced was available.
I…hate it. I want to love it so bad, but it’s been impossible to wick AND, I rarely get a hot throw. Mine also smells funny. There’s a smell to it and it doesn’t go away even after I add fragrance oil. I’m going to reach out to my supplier about that.
The glass adhesion is wonderful. I ALWAYS have smooth tops, and continue to have smooth tops, burn after burn. This wax only does well with STRONG fragrance oils. Even then the HT is “meh” at best. CT is impossible, but again, mine also smells weird.
I will readily admit I’m a new candle maker so maybe blame that. But I bought a small bag of 464 recently just for personal use because it’s affordable and I didn’t want to use my advanced because I’m do tinkering to test. holy crap, I got CT for my 464 candles and an amazing HT after a day of curing. You hear all these horror stories about 464 (the lumpiness is real), but at least I could smell it and I wasn’t blaming the FO’s all the time thinking they were too light.
Ugh. I wanted to love advanced. But it sucks (for me) and expensive. A very sad pass. :( thank you for making this video though!!! Very hard to get any info out here about the advanced wax!

Heeey! We all have different experiences with waxes & I am happy that you tried the 464 & I agree the reputation of 464 is not the best ahah but its going to be my next video actually! I am so glad that you got better results and your happy with it! Definitely keep trying to see what wax works best for you & yes 100% contact the supplier for the weird smell! Maybe they can refund you or do something about it.
Its all a process , trust the process and have fun with it! I get frustrated sometimes if I get a good CT and a bad HT and wicks are not working but its all part of the process!
Thank you so much for your support & for your comment! It was so nice to hear your experience 🤍

I have used both and the biggest challenge I have found is that CB-Advance will pull out under lower temperatures. It probably will show if you put both candles in the fridge for 15min. I used to live in a very cold house and all my advance candles were pulling out. Now the same candles at 23°C and over are back to normal. Is quite interesting. I think Advance for summer and cb-135 for winter and clear jars are better.
Those wicks look perfect to me btw, that little side wall will fall after the 15th hour and will ensure it doesn't overheat the jar. The stabilos tend to lean towards a side and can go over the T limit if wicking up in tall jars like the Karen ones. I really liked the TB10 I have never tried it but I really want to know! Thanks for the video

Yes , I definitely agree about the CB advanced! When I did a few cb candles during winter , It did pull away from the jar after a few days even though I heated up my jar! I loved the TB10 , it actually burnt beautifully and evenly too and I only got mushrooming at the very end of the candle! I loved it!

Hey, did you notice any sweating with the 135? I tried the advanced and it was sweating FO on the top after a 48-hour cure.

Not in my experience it hasn’t but I can give you two reasons: It’s either the weather is too hot so the candle starts to sweat OR your candle is over loaded with Fragrance oil.

how do you work out how many grams % the fragrance oil is?

Firstly, you need to know how much wax your jar holds then watch this video for the fragrance calculation. ruclips.net/video/0hj_mwI9QSw/видео.html
