Anders Gulowsen Oh Norway.... Uh no I think it might actually be an American thing.... I've never thought about it. They're very common in Southern U.S
@@Bintimrembo-y1v Nah, they might not slap like this one but I think some of the Catholic songs are good when you are looking for a quiet meditation. And let's not forget Elwood is Catholic , so these movies really show how both faiths can get along.
I wish all churches were this funky. it will change the way we think and act. it just does it, the way the music is played. And this is the only country where its done like this. USA . fantastic blues + church
The Blues Lives thanks in part to the great Dan Akroyd and John Landis who brought us 2 fantastic entertaining movies. Those movies rekindled blues for a while and at different times and had a knock on effect in some other musical genres. In fact some blues men found they could earn a wage again after the phone had stopped ringing. In my view great Movies
now ive never seen blues brothers 2000 but i kept hearing this song on my dads phone in the car since we were on our way to blues brothers con so i looked for this video and tis pretty good
Man makes me wanna get back in cherch! I hated going to church as a kid. Having a middle aged white man scream at you for 1,2 maybe three hours. I could get that shit at school or my grandads house. But dad being a blues musician and having roots in the black communities wed hit some black gospel churches. Hed play at different ones and thats where God reaches in down into your chest and squeezes the hell out of you. Aint no sleepin in there. That powerful music gets your blood flowing. Everybodys amped up. You want to hear the words. You want that uplifting feeling to stay forever. Unfortunately for most its like a drug that wears off. Its about time i get a fix. Id like to take this time to thank God for Sam Moore and the other like him that can touch the human spirit with their music and energy.
What A Voice!!!! Wish I could hear Sam Moore do the whole song (without scene from movie interrupting); but can't find it on RUclips. Anybody know if it's on the WWW?
The lady from 00:27 to 00:30 always kills me with the way she rolls her eyes.. Daaaamn! The head roll from 00:39 - 00:40 also really kills it - superb extras
Bless you children who are atheist. And, I have no problem with your choice. I just wish you could believe in our Creator. And, although I have experienced so many different faiths in my life and I don't fully accept any of them fully. We're all God's children, or whatever you choose to call "it". I believe in God, I believe that we do live again, I believe that we may even reincarnate. Bless your precious hearts.
God wouldn't allow people to die in wars, famine, disease, or disaster. He put people on this gift of a planet to enjoy. If he loved his children, he would ACTIVELY save them from pain no matter what. I dare you to not help your kid crying for help in a burning building only for you to say "it's ok, have faith I will see you again" only for the kid to die. I'll take my anti-god and anti religious stance. Thanks.
I wonder if one of the women in the church choir was the same one clapping in the street to John Lee Hooker performing "Boom Boom" in the first movie, one of them kind of looks like her all grown up
You can’t help but be moved by this wonderful rendition of John the Revelator... one of the best sequences in Blues Bros 2000!
This is my favorite scene of the entire movie. 😎✌🏾

I am a Jew and I think this is one of the greatest moments in music history.
What does this have anything to do with your being Jew? I don’t get it.

Even haters would have to agree that this is the best scene in the whole film. If churches were like this...I would attend
They're called Baptist Churches... They're pretty much like this
Anders Gulowsen Oh Norway.... Uh no I think it might actually be an American thing.... I've never thought about it. They're very common in Southern U.S
Anders Gulowsen the good news is God believes in you
danver39 Yes, a bronze age metaphor for the unknown "loves you"
GavinJ37 Churches like this really exist, so it's not impossible. But, are there some in the place where you live? that's the question
I love this song!!!! It makes you want to stand up and dance!!!!
The great Blind Willie Johnson. The fathe of rock.
June 2020 Covid 19 Edition. Who is here getting anointed by the music? Come on people let your soul speak...

I love the blues brothers and 2000
I stumbled across one thing the best scenes just made my miserable day
I love this movie so much
I'm Catholic, but I think this is an example of authentic gospel music and worship!
this is a perfect example of old Mississippi Delta Blues.
Agreed. Am Catholic and our music sucks big time.
Hangaya it’s about venerating and worshipping Christ, not singing songs. Go to a cathedral with a proper choir and rethink this comment.
I love gospel music and I love the BB not the same without John Belushi though

This is what a Baptist church is like. Y’all should go sometime.
Attending means nothing if you dont have the desire to find god.
Since when does an Illinois cop have jurisdiction in Mississippi?
youve obviously never seen smokey and the bandit
I have Buford T Justice didn't make an arrest he was only on a goose chase.
ya it's hollyweird land
Technically he doesn't. The FBI were involved at this point because of Buster being kidnapped so the cops were just consulting I think.
What's a Texas sheriff doing in Arkansas

A law to sing well? In a house of god?

The fact that there are more concerts in churches than you think. There is a Serbian church in Zrenjanin that has many concerts.

How could the filmmakers allow the cops interrupt something of this quality? They should have given the scene several more minutes first.
idk like you guys but this and when that police man changed to blues brothers , those 2 was best of this movie (+ funky nassau)
