My doctor prescribed corticosteroids (Predinosolona) and it made me feel better in a few days
Thanks so much for your kind words. Really helps. Will keep trying to do vestibular exercises every day. Dont feel making any difference but wont give up. Bless you both and hope you get as well as you can too xx
A year later after your comment... have the exercises made any difference? I'm in the same boat - lots of exercises, no sign that they are improving anything.
Well presented . Thank you 🙏
I have this today and I feel terrible. The dizziness is so debilitating.
where do you put vestibular migraine in terms of how common it is?
Is it possible to get hot flushes with this condition?
I get these too!
I was diagnosed with sudden sensory loss in my left ear....just heard loud humming...ringing. a specialist ran hearing tests, gave me prednisone and then i developed vertigo bad. My hearing started coming back but its real sensitive in my left ear and i still hear the humming and ringing. I was diagnosed with bppv later. Can this all be connected. I know its not prolly connected but about a week before i got neck adjusted three days in a row at chiro for the first time. I was treated for ear infection over a month prior.
in the first few seconds you say, what you discussed in the previous video, it begins with hyperfunction and ends with hypofunction.. What is the disease you are refering to, I cannot make it out auditorily? Thanks
I did ct scan and mri. And it says prominent high riding jugular bulb dehiscence. Is that related?
Vestibular migraine, what do you know about that? And you can have mild ringing in ear with vestibular neuritis. My daughter has suffered over two months she needs help. Ent is Thursday I’m worried he won’t know how to help her.
I had serve vertigo 3 months ago was in the hospital for 5 days and I couldn’t walk. I’m in my 40s so this was very scary. It slowly got better but, I have been doing vestibular pt. It has greatly helped. I finally got my VNG test and my left vestibular nerve is still greatly impaired. I’m going to get an mri but, I’m concerned this is not vestibular neuritis but, something else. My hearing was good but, there just seems to be more going on.
The number of variations of symptoms seems to equal the number of people with the condition. I.E. everyone seems to be slightly different. Do you have any tinnitus? Do you recall what triggered the vertigo? It must have been really bad to end up in hospital. My acute vertigo was not as bad, but 8 months later I'm dizzy all the time. Most debilitating.
Been almost two years now. Still suffering. Some days better than others. Bad days are bad.
Wow really that long? Sorry to hear. I'm one month in and scared it won't go away. Did you get it after a vaccination?
@@jessemaxi I have been suffering for 9 months, at first it was due to vaccination, then I got sick with corona, and since then my condition has gotten worse
Same here no cure for this
@@saousseniris7247 Sorry to hear, I'm un vaccinated and never had covid. Still got it with no explanation. 3 months for me now comes and goes during the day. Staying positive and looking at treatments around diet/nutrition and physical therapy
@@jessemaxi I did not get the jab
What if you have BPPV and had a most your life and now you’re having visual vertigo is it possible that you could have another issue going on with the inner ear is it possible to have two different vertigo issues like BPPV and the neuritis or something
Yes
Had this 6 months now ... some days just want to end it all. Came from nowhere. Feel so sorry for anyone who gets this.
Had it too from 2/22 to about july…..but still have mild dizziness here and there …..try to do the vestibular therapy every day hang in there
Iv had this now for 2 half years..
80% recovery, but I have chronic nerve damage in the inner ear nerve.
So this is the best I'll get..
Some days are hell... Headaches, tiredness and balance issues..
Be positive
@@bradglawson4395 I have it for 5 years am 90% recovered with no medication but lots of Nuro physio exercises . Had to begin by waking and moving in a pool to get balance back, would get tied easily had good and bad days but now only bad days if I get a virus. I no it’s traumatic to life but try not stress you will improve to get good quality of life again , i was a extremely bad case so if I improve anyone will . No medication if possible, no vaccine, eat well and do physio balance exercise an the hard one… no alcohol lol.
@@elliottelliott6876 I don’t drink alcohol
Slowly getting there but now iv developed vestibular migraine
😢
Does vestibular neuritis cause heavy head?
Yes
Seems to - you feel like your head flops to the side and you actively have to tension the neck muscles to control the movement (a bit like you see a baby's head sometimes).
Yes but that will stop with time passing. Eat healthy practice balance movements. A good neurologist physiotherapists will help
Does vestibular neuritis cause loss of balance and equilibrium?
Yes - that's what my ENT said. Probably worse when you move your head.
This is my second time with a gap of 2 months. This time it is more severe. Is Vestibular Neuritis usually recurrent?
Yes
Everything I have read indicates that it’s extremely rare to get it a second time
Now I m feeling better, only some impaired balance if so much physically or mentally stressed. Wished this is my last🙏
@@wrakesh1192did you have tinnitus? Ringing in the ears ?
Can you get this from a head injury
Yes - some sources say it's possible after head injury - but also check for neck injury because neck issues can cause dizziness (from what I've read).
I can’t do MRI’s.. severe claustrophobia.
Drugs help. I got premeds and it helped me get thru!
@@Portia620 how are u now
Dr can write u an anxiety med to take pre scan. Most of the time it relaxes you and puts u to sleep and u don’t even notice you’re in there. I did this a couple times and then I was able to do MRI without them. As long as it’s not one u have to be in for an hour.
My doctor orders sleep meds for mri's
You forgot cortisone! the most important treatment in neuritis vestibularis!
