- This month's installment of "The Music Playground Presents" features The Hot Sardines, a band that has gained a reputation for putting on unforgettably wild live shows all around New York City - and soon, the world. In fact, they have been invited to represent New York in front of 25,000 people during a nighttime set at the 2012 Festival d'Île de France in Paris. The Hot Sardines' uniqueness lies in the fact that they get people both young and old dancing their asses off, by playing pop music that was written a century ago. Their concerts consist of all-out renditions of hot jazz numbers, New Orleans jazz standards, fever-paced tap dancing, and foot-stomping mayhem.

This is great! Perfect rhythm and well done by all musicians and vocalist plus the added attraction of a tap routine. Not an easy number to perform, but they pulled up this oldie made popular in the mid 40's by the Andrew sisters. BRAVO!
This awesome band sailed on a Disney cruise I just returned from. They played every day and just blew me away. They are fantastic LIVE! Their leader and founder, Bibs Palazzo (at the piano) is quite a character on stage. Nice guy, too. I chatted with him and found him to be articulate and personable. This is a very imaginative arrangement of the Andrews Sisters' classic. It really cooks in the second half. And dig their resident tap dancer who literally is part of the rhythm section.
I watched the other version of the Hot Sardines doing this song in a subway. It was fantastic. Then I found this version - unbelievable. The instrument (and foot) solos were out of this world. Thanks!

These guys are unreal! Truly awesome music. Jason Prover is my current trumpeting hero, and that clarinet- I've never heard anything like it!!
It's such a shame this type of music doesn't receive much recognition. Only trash popular music these days.
