my dad owns a 997.1 carrera 2s manual, dark blue, same interior as you, and turbo S wheels from factory.. we have had the oportunity to drive a ton of great sport/supercars over the years... but there is something about the beauty and elegance in perfect contrast to the raw sound and driving experience its unmatched... no car has ever felt and looked so good... I feel the 997 was really the last generation where it was more a car than a computer, insanely light, NA 3.8L flat six with just the right amount of power.. honestly think for driving expirience it was the generation of the 911
Love this build - very well done and look forward to following along. 997 is so underrated and almost too cheap compared to a manual 991.
I have a 997.1 4s convertible absolutely love it. Like you I bought with my heart which a year of ownership so far all seems ok. Problem we have in Ireland is that there is not a huge amount for sale so beggars can’t be choosers 😂 love the centre exhaust and the aero kit. Really stands out. Keep on loving the car. Sold my mk 7 golf r had that 8 years from new which I did modify over the years.
Sold it back in July & now have my first 6 year old Porsche 718 Boxster S in larva Orange..luv it.
Nice vlog and I like how you mentioned the mods and how much work was needed and how much you paid for. So this gives us an idea for potential buyers out there looking for a 997 Porsche. I think your car looks perfect and will even look better if you install some 19's or 20 inch BBS wheels. Looking forward to more content on this beauty!!
The dream would be to get a set of BBS. I've always loved those wheels.
I had a manual 997.1 C4S in black . Great cars . Took it to Germany, Track days, and obviously plenty of meets . Like the aerokit and centre exhaust 👍🏻
The aero kit really transforms the 997.
How long did you have yours for?
Same car history as me - and i own a 997 now- daily a mk4 r32 still today as you say they are seriously well built cars , also have a mk2 golf 16v tucked away for winter. Do miss the corrado though. I can understand why you purchased it as the aero kit is great.
Mk4s are like gold dust. I wish I grabbed one while they were cheap. I've been thinking about a audi TT 3.2 project car.

Still have the Saab, BMW, Mazda and Tesla. Currently looking for a 997.2 4S which I would be selling the Mazda and Saab to acquire.
You must have a car park outside your house to park all those cars.
Great review. My Turbo alloys have been refurbished in Porsche platinum satin which really works with a black car.

Im definitely lookinv to buy a 997.1 in 24. Thd gt3 reaf bumper and exhaust finishes the aero kit off perfectly. Can i ask what the cost was...i too wanted to change the stock resf bumpers but originally thougjt turbo rear bumper to avoid doing exhaust?
The stance is what I am loooking for on my 997.2. Which Bilstein setup did you use? Did 911SBD fit it for you?
I think mine are B16. It works with the sports mode button as well. I took it out on track and it was amazing. Soon as you switch it on you can feel it all firm up.

Retrofit the X51 package! Very tasteful car. I had a g60 corrado too.
