    I would love to be fluent in Japanese! It's amazing how similar the high mountain woods and waters of Japan are to Oregon here in the US! Those trout coming out of a pristine mountain stream have such beautiful color, in part, due to the healthy natural diet they enjoy. The method used to cook them looks fantastic as well. Very well done!

    Reminds me of the smaller streams and rivers here in Coastal Washington State. Mostly use spinners or bait for sea run cutts and the occasional steelhead. Great vid,please post more

    I grew up fishing similar places in Ireland as a boy. My imagination would run wild that I would catch a wild brown trout or even a big silver salmon. Great video thank you for sharing.

      When I work I can expect £13:50 an hour, i doubt if this guy was out less than two or three hours, to me that's near £40 for three little fish, I think I'll just stick with the fish mongers.

      I live in Texas and those fish he was catching would be considered under sized and actually should have been released so that they could grow bigger. I think that's why so many "Dislikes". Beautiful fish, I would have released them. Just my two cents on the matter........

      На Сахалине это рыба называется подкаменка. Это не малёк симы, а
      карликовая форма самцов симы.
      Зачем куда-то уплывать, ведь самки всё-равно придут к ним. Это шутка.
      Подкаменки только самцы. Достигают до 30 см.

      @@saber2th77 neither. I believe they are cherry salmon, or atleast that's the name given to the two non char trout native to Japan. Real name is yamame or something. Although that could be their char

      lol Yes cherry salmon. I saw one caught that was very close to a speck but not quite. I had to go find the answer myself. They don't have any true trout. They sure are as cute as a speck though.

      @@saber2th77 ive never seen a brown trout with those oval patterns. They look closest to a young rainbow/steelhead than any other other north american species. Aside from the small red spots, these look nothing like a small brown trout.

      I've been on holiday in Japan, stayed six weeks with friends in Kanazawa.
      Fished quite a bit with their son " Toki" had a great time. Hope you can go there some day, you'd enjoy it.

    Beautiful stream. Reminds me of one time in my youth when I was fishing such a stream. I cast out, got a strike, set the hook and jerked that young cutthroat trout over my head into the briar patch behind me. 🤗

    Hello Americans. Yes, Japanese trout. Amago & Yamame trout inhabit japanese waters but not usually in the same streams together. Beautiful fish for sure.

      It is Ponzu sauce(ポン酢). Sauce containing soy sauce and vinegar or citrus juice

      L B every country is homogeneous. There is only one species of human left. However their are many nationalities that do call Japan home too.

    I want to come to Japan for the first time, once this pandemic come easy. Fishing, and to enjoy the culture. Any local people speak English could give some ideas of where I should to start. Tokyo I think should be my last stop

      im not Japanese, but theres this city in japan where koi fish is everywhere. they havre massive koi like 1m long. start there could be a good choice i think

    Now I'm homesick for Japan. Lived in Tokushima for a couple of years in the mid 90's. Did a lot of fishing. The trout are delicious.

    What kind of fish are those? They look like they're in the trout/salmon family. Reminds me of mountain creeks in Colorado. So relaxing, energizing. The prepared fish looks delish!
