Yes, that's what I was saying. Maybe I didn't express it properly. But I didn't like that I needed to add more flavor to everything. I felt that they could've done a better job with flavoring the meals. I definitely think they could've added more seasoning or herbs at little additional expense. It could also be that I feel that way because I tried hello fresh first and everything was jam packed with flavor... But it's just my personal opinion. Take it with a grain of salt.
I’ve done hellofresh & Dinnerly - Dinnerly is very similar to everyplate in that all the ingredients are thrown in. I think I might go back to hellofresh simply because they package the meals individually and that makes it so much easier and worth the money difference 🤣
As far as meals packaged individually...when we get our Every Plate box and go thru to make sure we got everything we separate everything right then and put each meals ingredients in a large zip lock and write the recipe name on a post it and staple to it. You can reuse your large ziplocks each week when your new box of ingredients arrive. 😊
I have tried Hello Fresh, Dinnerly, Home Chef, Every Plate and Green Chef. I had trouble with poor quality/missing ingredients from Dinnerly so I only gave them a couple of tries before canceling. Hello Fresh was good but rather expensive, and I often couldn't find enough meals that I wanted to fill the minimum requirements. Dropped them also. Green Chef is all organic and almost all of the prep is done for you...very little waste, which I appreciate. I have discovered some new flavors that I hadn't previously tried. Green Chef turned me on to Barramundi, a VERY good and versatile fish. Green Chef is a bit more on the expensive side so I don't have it every week, but every single meal I have gotten from them has been outstanding. I have been using Every Plate for more than a year now, and I love them. Ingredients are always great quality and everything arrives nice and cold. It is nice too that they mark on the recipe cards which items need refrigeration. Like someone else commented, when the box arrives I take large Ziploc bags and sort the items for each recipe into a bag and label it...that also lets me check for missing ingredients. I enjoy the range of flavors and ease of preparation and cooking. I am curious as to why you thought the chicken had a "weird texture" since I have fixed the Tuscan Chicken several times (as well as other dishes that had chicken) and have never once noticed an odd texture and it was very flavorful with the Tuscan Heat Spice..and I do believe that just about everything will ask for added salt. I appreciate that so I can adjust the amount of salt that is added. They do also show you when you order the meals what items you need to provide (such as the ketchup for the meatloaves) so you can obtain it ahead of time. Home Chef is my newest meal kit provider and I really like it. One thing I really like is that their minimum order is for 2 meals for 2 people (most others require at least 3 meals). I live alone and many weeks I only have 2 days off so it is a bit of a challenge to find time to fix 3 meals (12 hour shifts plus an hour commute each way takes up a big chunk of your time). They also have quick prep meals, ready to cook meals (just add the ingredients to the included pan and fix in the microwave or oven) as well as the traditional meal kits. They also have extras that you can include, like breads, desserts, breakfast items etc. They also charge a different price for each meal (and/or extra) so it is a little more a la carte than a fixed box price. Some of the Home Chef meals are also available in stores (mainly Krogers and Jay C since Kroger owns the company). Both they and to a lesser extent Every Plate allow you to customize the meal by switching protein and/or veggies.
Hello fresh seems to offer more convenience along with more complex meal options..but that also comes with a higher price. I personally prefer every plate, I don’t mind organizing the ingredients, it’s also significantly cheaper AND I noticed the portion sizes are *very* generous. Sure, Every Plate might lack elaborate recipes and ingredients but I don’t really mind, I prefer the simplicity Every Plate has to offer. It all boils down to the individual consumer and their preferences honestly. Great review by the way!
So I have been doing every plate for awhile now and got the pork burgers because you raved about them so much. They were so good! The best meal I had from every plate. I posted a video in case you wanted to see my reaction.
Thank you for your unbiased video. Was very thorough and I feel the way you do, the meals are pretty basic and simple. Though the meals look like they can be delicious, I definitely am going to have to pass and invest a little more into hellofresh for creative and nutritious meals.
You're welcome! But I actually ordered it again and it was much better. The key is seasoning as you normally would. Don't stop at their suggestions for seasoning. Lol
I love every plate they have tons of options I go for the quick and easy ones. Which you can tailor your preferences to what you like and it’s pretty cheap compared to the other food subscription boxes. I’ve tried a ton of boxes and came back to this one.
@@DanielleLaShawn I will definitely let you know. Freshly is good a lot more expensive and I like the idea of cooking my meals vs a prepared meal that might have too much sodium.
I agree i would want more than them meals. I would get a meal kit to learn to cook better or try different meals that i normally would not have all the ingredients in the house.
I ordered every plate and the delivery went elsewhere so I never got it. I called and they said wait until tomorrow again didn’t get it called again and it was delivered to wrong address and so I decided to cancel since I don’t have the time to call and track every week. Asked them to credit my card on file but they credited my account that I closed. Told them to credit my card on file and I was told ok and again I had to call to find that it was given me as a credit on my account that is deactivated. He changed it and sent the credit to the card. It’s been 10 days and still no credit of 90+. Finally had to call my bank to dispute. Be careful with this company. They aren’t so quick to right a company wrong and give back your money.
Dang. I'm sorry you had such a terrible experience. I didn't have any of those issues but I know people have vastly different experiences with the same company.
@@DanielleLaShawn sadly it had nothing to do with the food. I just can’t get my money back from them after trying three times. Finally had to go through my bank to get it. It’s been almost a month.
@@karlahartson4074 I would definitely be pissed if that happened to me too and I would not be looking to use them again either, so I completely understand. The reality is most companies only get one chance to make a good impression and you gave them more than that so I think you did your part. Lol! It's sad that they lost what would probably have been a loyal customer.
Every plate is meant to be more plain and budget friendly. Hello fresh is for people who want more advanced meals.

@@DanielleLaShawn Hello, so is this only dinner? No breakfast or lunch?
@@oddfellow8366 I think u can get add-ons but I don't know if they have breakfast options. You can definitely make the meals for lunch though.
@@DanielleLaShawn I ABSOLUTELY AGREE! Hello Fresh comes out with a Thumbs up 👍 for these Every Meal dishes!
The peeling, chopping and multitasking took too much time for me!
EveryPlate is owned by the HelloFresh Group as are Chefs Plate, Green Chef and Factor_.
That makes a lot of sense.

Lol, that's hilarious. Hello fresh has the most flavor from my experience so far.

I've never tried Dinnerly but I know hello fresh and every plate are the same company. I might check out Dinnerly.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
You did a great job editing this! I actually got my first box of every plate today and will be doing a review soon!
Thank you so much!
EveryPlate is actually owned by hellofresh. If you weren’t aware (: that’s why they are extremely similar
Yes, I figured that out when some of the things in my box said hello fresh on them. Lol

I agree. It's going to come down to what's most important to you, and toggling between them may be best for some people.

thank you so much for this video! very helpful and i love that you included the actual cooking
Glad it was helpful!

I found that when I added more seasoning the Every Plate meals were much better so I'd still recommend them, but I do like hello fresh better.
This video solidified my decision to go with a different meal service. Thank you for sharing!

At first I thought it didn't have enough flavor but now I know I just need to season it like I would even if it weren't a kit. I love it now!
Trying this week so I will find out if I like it better than Green Chef/Freshly. Thanks for the review.
I've not tried green chef or freshly. Let me know what u think of every plate.
