Bad analogy. Maybe if Seth was using a 60 card starter pack from like 4th edition against a powered vintage deck and actually won. Throwing gravel at a tank does nothing.
One of my favorite parts was that even though Thraben Inspector is replacing esper sentinel, the fact that it has 2 toughness was instrumental in winning in game 3 vs creativity.
You know Magic is at least in some sort of healthy place if Seth can manage 5-0 on a budget magic video. Seth continues to be one of the great pillars of our community. Love it.
This really has always been the case with magic. I know its all the rage to shit on wizards but there was never a time you couldn't win with a budget deck and they always ban problematic stuff. Unlike say Konami which literally only bans ftks immediately and then anything else needs to wait for months if not years
Holy shit this deck got there, somehow. Love to see it! The mana tithe mind game is real. You never see a white deck the same way after getting mana tithe'd out of a clear victory.
This deck gets a big boost from the meta. No one is playing board wipes, so opponents spend 1 for 1 removal spells on tokens; Force of Virtue stands in well for the more expensive MH2 free spells; And the sideboard cards do a lot of work. And all the utility lands really do give the deck reach. It's a solid brew!
Drawing the Force of Virtue at 33:19 guaranteed the win even if they had double removal since the attack flipped landing letting you hard cast the virtue
The thing I love about this kind of deck is that you literally do not care about creature removal. It must've felt REALLY bad to spend an Unholy Hit on a 1/1 token. :p I'm actually not surprised that you did well with this pile of cards - the meta is currently focused around either making singular huge plays OR answering those huge plays, so going really wide is something that most decks aren't really equipped to deal with.
Hi Seth, First of congratulations to the 5-0 with that beautiful archetype! I see you have found the list I brought to the Grand Open Qualifier in Amsterdam last week, and did a better job at piloting it than I did there (4-5-0 followed by a 3-2-1). It is interesting to hear your opinion on Honor of the Pure, since Intangible Virtue had been an unmovable 4-off for a long time on the tokens discord. Only the printings of Resolute Reinforcements and the addition of a hate bear heavy sideboard made me consider to swap to Honor of the Pure. I even had to buy them on the venue 30minutes before the start of the tournament. Absolutely worth it, Honor was better than Intangible in most cases. A single Intangible Virtue still has its place as long as the deck has Loxodons. Vigilance allows the tokens to attack first, then pay for a Loxodon with convoke. You are lucky not to have met any living ends, the cascade is the scourge of tokens, since it wipes our board at every living end… If anyone has questions, been playing the deck since 2019 :) The deck is definitely worth a try if one has a rental account on MTGO. May the Tokens be with you, always!
33:50 double removal would not have been enough, you'd flip Landing anyway and be able to hard cast a second Force, making the two unblocked creatures still lethal.
Legions landing felt like the mvp in so many of those games. I know ixalan gets a bad rap for being under power set but those some of those flip enchantments are pretty good
Congradulations, Seth, on the *SECOND* 5-0 _Budget Magic_ Victory of 2022! And folks, learn the lesson from the first one: Scoop up this deck *NOW* before demand puts it out of "budget range"!!
PSA: If you think your opponent has Dress Down, cast your Resolute Reinforcements during their postcombat main phase! They can still fizzle the token, but at least they don't have it during your turn.
Spent 100 dollars, Got 5-0, Instantly gets back 50 dollars from Fury/FoN. Budget magic returning back to $50 dollars in spirit one last time. Honestly best video I've seen in budget magic in awhile. Absolutely crushed it!! BUDGET MAGIC FTW!
Hey man this is the deck I always wanted ever since I was a kid I liked Mana tithe and spectral procession and, to mix it in with these new cards is just great I love it! I'm going to try the deck at a tournament in Rochester New York... with esper Sentinels lol
I have tried Mono white, Selesnya, Abzan, Esper, mono green, and bant tokens and bant has been my absolute best brew utilizing Protect The Negotiatiors that cards absurd it scales really well and has won me so many games.
@@nasogard nah I don't mind this is what I've currently been trying. The sideboard is still a work in progress but it's pretty straightforward. RUclips doesn't allow for links so had to do it in text form. mono white tokens was a semi good thing a couple of years ago, it always has the possibility of winning. fury hurts it as well as boardwipes but overall its a good budget deck.
I'm gonna be stealing half this list so I can build Tokens Ramp. Imagine attacking with, say, three creatures, and then post combat damage but before combat ends cast Settle the Wreckage. Ramp into stuff like Elesh Norn and Iona!
Can I start a petition to change the name of this deck to the Spanish Inquisition deck? Cos no one expects half the things in the deck, let alone the MANA TITHE!!! Love it!!!!!!!!
Also for a one mana token maker I've had success with beckon apparition. It's relevant against graveyard decks and makes a one mana flier. Although it's better with fetch lands.
Thank you. I can’t figure out what I was doing wrong. It was never quite fast enough to establish a board before the opponent was already about to win.
Seth Can you make a non budget token modern deck with the colors of Simic or selesyna (green and white) with token doublers like doubling season for example? And try to get a 5-0 in a modern league? Or do a modern deck that's a mix of soul sisters and tokens with some life gain?
I can't understand that nobody plays sweepers in modern. In my local meta, we all play some. It is so effective in so many cases ! This deck would be very bad
Yeah, the do work pretty well together for sure. Intangible Virtue is slightly awkward in this build just because we have some non-token creatures, but it's still probably good enough. Loxodon does get way better if our tokens have Vigilance, gets around the downside of having to take a turn off of attacking to convoke it into play.
Seth I want you see you playing rat tribal in modern or the new tribe necron or do mono black necron tron or can you do modern eldrazi re-animator with the biggest boys like pathrazer of ulamog, emrakul, ulamog, kozliek, bane of bala ged and crusher of ulamog and it that betrays and a few others
Rat Tribal sounds sweet! We played a Rat Lock deck a long time ago, but it's probably time to bring it back.www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/against-the-odds-rat-lock-modern
My absolute favorite part about playing mana tithe is that you can just sideboard them out game two and your opponent still plays around it!
And people say blue is the color of mind games.
Mana tithe has people paranoid for weeks around white decks.
Mana tithe is more salt and fear inducing than any other counter
Watching the creativity player making every move a turn later to dodge tithe was a thing of beauty.
Watching a token deck wreck some powerful decks is always fun. It's like you're destroying a tank by throwing gravel at it.
Ha, yeah, you're right.
That Containment Priest double snag was so satisfying.
It feels really good to get Creativity once and a while. Usually I just lost to the Archons lol.

Thanks :)

Incredible work Seth. I've tried so hard to make this deck work some leagues and so happy to see you get that 5-0
That last opponent getting tithed 2 for 1md and then playing the shame land is the mother of all punts.
Holy shit this deck got there, somehow. Love to see it!
The mana tithe mind game is real. You never see a white deck the same way after getting mana tithe'd out of a clear victory.
Love the content ❣️ to me you're one of the core faces of online magic keep up the great work love your personality
I remember Seth's 34 rhinos video, that's what got me into watching magic on youtube. He's a legend :D
Thanks :)
@@MTGGoldfish hey, it's Avihu.
Let's talk about you cracking the collector boxes on stream!

13:46 “If we get rhino’d it’s pretty bad” he says while there’s a w6 on the board lmao
This is one of those videos I'll revisit on a rough day. I love seeing you have so much fun, Seth. :)
The thing I love about this kind of deck is that you literally do not care about creature removal. It must've felt REALLY bad to spend an Unholy Hit on a 1/1 token. :p

Yeah, not really caring about 1-for-1 removal is a huge upside for sure.
That was an enjoyable one Seth! Love your enthusiasm and absolutely LOVE watching people getting dunked on by Mana Tithe!
13:01 Virtue piss.
you've heard of virtue signalling. now, let me introduce to you...
Virtue piss.
Epic! Way to close it out Seth, had me on the edge of my seat throughout!
I am curious if the vigilance from Intangible virtue makes the venerated loxodon a better card in the mainboard. Great brew and great plays.
Loved it! Also, thanks for not spoiling the result in the title!
What a ride! Congrats on the result. I was on the edge of my seat during last match.
Hi Seth,

Very nice! Tokens is my favorite archetype, and this is basically exactly how I'd build a budget version. Fantastic!
Thraben inspector is one of my favorite cards ever. Love playing it in pauper and cube. Super sweet deck!
33:50 double removal would not have been enough, you'd flip Landing anyway and be able to hard cast a second Force, making the two unblocked creatures still lethal.
The prizes paid full ticket price for the deck
Downright awesome!
Wow, that was awesome. Love your videos Seth, keep up the amazing work!
Absolutely great to watch! Congratz!
Another excellent brew Seth. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work! 😊
Dragon range Chandler and it's turned on, getting frisky.
Phrasing?! Lol
That containment priest blow out game 2... good god that had to feel so good.
this deck is awesome... between the instant speed threats and countermagic its like mono white draw go
Everyone who plays against Seth should expect a playset of Mana Tithe. I am a little surprised he only ran three.
Legions landing felt like the mvp in so many of those games. I know ixalan gets a bad rap for being under power set but those some of those flip enchantments are pretty good
Yeah, the best of the flip into land enchantments are actually really good.
Mana tithe puts the fear of God in everyone
that creativity player was prob like wtf jank is this
Amazing playing, Seth! You could likely win with this deck in a small Japanese tournament.
Congradulations, Seth, on the *SECOND* 5-0 _Budget Magic_ Victory of 2022!
And folks, learn the lesson from the first one: Scoop up this deck *NOW* before demand puts it out of "budget range"!!
I would have liked to see what that 4th mardu opponent was trying to do. Seems like Mardu midrange?
Always stoked when a budget deck 5-0's. Mana tithe is the icing on the cake.
What a creative deck! Thank you for budget series videos!
PSA: If you think your opponent has Dress Down, cast your Resolute Reinforcements during their postcombat main phase! They can still fizzle the token, but at least they don't have it during your turn.
If Castle Ardenvale makes a single token this video y'all gotta apologize to Crimm on Commander Clash 😂
I just want to see a Force of Virtue+Speaker of the Heavens+Providence list.
This was sweet, love seeing budget decks filled with nonsense trounce the thousand dollar piles

I hope the last opponent watches this video and knows Seth got the 5-0 with this deck. That guy seemed nice too.
What's a non budget version of this?
That was spectacular.
game 2 against creativity is nuts

Not that the deck ain’t perfect, but any thought to Battle Screech? Last time you played tokens that card did work.
This video will make me smile and feel happy for weeks. Lol
More vids of this deck please!

What about including wedding announcement?

Seth would be an amasing Pro tour commentator :D
Seems like venerated loxodon was never quite where you wanted to be. Might be better to play benalish marshal in that slot
I feel like this deck could use 1-2 4 mana Gideon in the sideboard for decks that run sweepers
The budget may have been a concern but yeah it's good against that. Wandering Emperor might also be a good card for non budget options
Maybe escape Elsbeth.
I just took a modified version of this to my lgs modern night and went 2-1. I was able to tithe an ugin and a teferi it felt so good
How'd you modify it? Also does it counter boardwipes and spells like Fury and Prismatic Ending?
And now mono white tokens is no longer budget. Thanks Seth 😊
Great run !!!
“We beat creativity with tokens!”
No you beat creativity with a containment priest lol
I actually screamed when you beat creativity in round 2 😂
I still can't believe we won that match.
@@MTGGoldfish You are a legend mate!
Why not adding green and the new lord for tokens?
Amazing performance Seth 🎉
Anytime a deck goes 5-0, it wins a trip to Hawaii
this makes me want a much abrew with current day soul sisters
You piloted that deck quite well
Thanks!
I love your joy!
Seth I was thinking if you can a persist combo modern deck if you have time
What would be a more useful replacement for the loxadons?
I'd probably just play more Honor of the Pures.
Leyline of the meek.
Also for a one mana token maker I've had success with beckon apparition. It's relevant against graveyard decks and makes a one mana flier. Although it's better with fetch lands.
Please do Modern Saprolings

How can you get tokens from CARDkindom. Tokens aren't cards. Check the rules xD

A deck with a 1 of intangible virtue? Time to use my timeshifted foil I pulled lol
i am very disappointed in you seth. no springjack shepherd? for shame lol
Yes. Maybe.. sometimes..
Not playing RIP against Izzet to deny delirium seems like a misplay.
i love this deck, i play with Signal Pest and Vindicate (Generous Gift)
Sticking with budget, the loxodon and intangible virtue are a combo, not sure why there aren’t many copies, cos they don’t work as well apart
Yeah, the do work pretty well together for sure. Intangible Virtue is slightly awkward in this build just because we have some non-token creatures, but it's still probably good enough. F for our Boy Yorion.
So good!!
Why would a 1/1 token chump against Ragavan Seth!
Epic games!🤗
Still more expensive than 2 of tomer's commander decks combined
Modern!!!! Gotta get a much a brew in modern.
The title alone made me click.
Budget magic 5-0, wild
I honestly don't think this was that strong of a deck. I think you just played it flawlessly.
No one expectes the Spanish inquisition or a mana tithe.
Kabria =/= Kabira
