One of the most appealing things about the new LS2 Rapid Helmet is its price-tag. It’s a hair under $80 bucks for a standard Matte Black, and only five bucks more for graphics. It’s one of the most affordable DOT and ECE approved helmets around.
Starting with the shell, it’s made from the same High Pressure Thermoplastic as used on other models like the Strobe, Stream and Spitfire. There are two shell sizes utilized and the head shape is intermediate oval.
You get a 3D optically correct Class A polycarbonate visor, the same material used across LS2’s range of helmets. It’s scratch resistant and UV resistant. It’s also easy to remove thanks to LS2’s quick release side-plate design. There’s even mounts built-in for a Pinlock insert too.
An intake vent on the chin bar is textured to make opening and closing easier. The same goes for the contoured top vents. Out back is an always open exhaust vent, giving air an escape through the channeled ports in the multi-density EPS liner inside.
Other touches that elevate the Rapid beyond its price point include subtle detailing around the vents, a well-sealing gasket around the eye port, a chin curtain and breath guard along with a nice red mesh and black comfort liner color scheme inside. The liner is hypoallergenic and breathable and is both removable and washable.
The chin strap is LS2’s DOT-approved quick-release design, a breeze to use when wearing gloves.

8 years since i got LS2 wolf and i bought this rapid now im very happy
Nice review dude
best helmet I've ever had! Waiting for available iridium lens for this matte black rapid!
Glad it's working out for you! We'll be sure to pass the word on to LS2 also. Thanks for sharing!
Bed Buffer it's your first helmet for sure.
Bought this and it's a terrible helmet. More if compared to the old rookie, which this came to replace.
It's my 6th helmet. Here are some of the helmets I had.
1. Spyder Sierra - heavy and visor gets scratched so easily
2. Lev3 - cheap plastic and sh*tty strap
3. Yamaha - heavy and visor gets off easily (poor locks on the sides)
4. Ryo - modular screws get loose over time.
5. Rookie - dirt comes in easily from the chin and you can't easily move the visor up and down.
Bed Buffer You said it all.
I wouldn't burn you better.
Must not have had many good helmets then
are you sure its intermediate oval? can you show us a video wearing your head?
Are medium and large the same shell size?
Never said how many shell sizes there are
There's two, mentioned 'round 0:46-0:47 mark. Thanks for watching!
Riders Domain cool - missed it 😎
Riders Domain , are small and Xsmall under the same shell size?
Of course they are.
BWX, so just out of curiosity, would this head to shellsize diagram be correct?...
Xl
L
M
........
S
Xs
Etc.
What's the weight indicated at back? Because I'm seeing 1250±50, 1300±50, and 1400±50. I don't want to buy a fake ls2 rapid.
Depends on the size, size L weighs 1300 , XL weighs 1400
Here in Philippines LS2 cost only 60 bucks or 2600 phpesos
Could be Chinese copied version
@@kaushalshrestha9487 that is why I did not plan to buy 🤣
cool intro bro
big bang for your buck.... nice!
Are small and Xsmall the same shell size?
Yep!
i wont wear one untill they remove 90% of the brand name....... LS2 shouldnt stamp the name LS2 5 times in big bold lettering on there helmets and for that no thank you....
Dreadful helmet. Do not waste your money on it
Please people, stop saying it's a great helmet.
IT IS NOT A GOOD HELMET.
Good things it has is low weight and not that noisy. (And price, but that's arguable)
Bad things... Everything else.
Visor mechanism is horrible. One can't open the visor just slightly. No.
Comfort! What? The padding inside is too thin to be comfortable. Poorly finished and bad quality materials.
Most pictures, including online shops, lead you to believe it's all black, it isn't. It's red and black as shown on this video.
You will be touching the deflector with your nose all the time. Comfortable once again.
The interior it's not removable as advertised.
Yesterday I compared the rapid and the rookie side by side. The rookie is a decent helmet for the price, the rapid is rubbish compared to the rookie, which by itself is not a fantastic helmet.
Will never recommend or buy LS2 again. No matter the price.
Clavius Magnus I own the rapid myself and IT IS A GREAT HELMET. Your head probably doesn't like it. I ride on Missouri highways so it can get pretty so windy, but honestly it doesn't bother me. Only thing I miss because I use to ride with a module helmet is the shades add on. The sun can be a problem.
Isaiah A great helmet compared to what?
Clavius Magnus compared to my Harley module Helmet, it can be used as a full face or 3/4.
Isaiah If you're happy, good for you.
Read my first comment.
Mine just arrived. It’s a shit helmet. It’s getting sent back lol
