Boxing workout. Round 1. Warming up using the jab.

  • 1st round should always start with the jab. This way you can get you’re timing, speed and footwork down as you begin to build momentum into the next round. I like to start my boxers with a simple jab head, jab body combination.
    You can also double your jab, and always remember to keep your hands up and move your head. Try to get in rhythm and flow with the bag.
    In, out, side to side. Control the bag with your jab. Start with moderate punches and as your shoulder warms up start popping a stiffer and faster job.
    When double your jab head, or head to body, shorten the second jab. Meaning don’t pull it all the way back to you. Jab your initial jab, then pull it only slightly and stab with it again.
