    Everything in this video is so accurate. I am an intuitive eater, and I think a big part of mindful eating is simply slowing down. People rush through a meal so fast that their bodies don't even have time to send the full signal. Slow down and enjoy the flavor of food. Chew it properly. You actually get more nutrients out of properly chewed fruits and vegetables. Use spices and herbs when cooking. They bring a whole new element to foods you only eat one way. I love adding dill to my poultry and fish. Eating intuitively allows you to communicate with your body, so you eat when you need to and stop when you are full. I do not avoid anything. I still eat whatever I want. But in moderation. I savor the taste and eat everything slower. Food should be enjoyable fuel for your body. Increasing exercise can be as simple as walking three times a week. It doesn't need to be every day. There are small things you can do throughout daily life that helps too. Like she said, take the stairs, park farther away, do your cleaning with music, and your house will be cleaned, and you burn a few more calories while doing it.

    Advice to mothers - start your children off in the right way - habits learned young stay for a lifetime. Also , in the horrible, cold British winter, I find that it is easier to drink hot water than cold .

    I'm glad you addressed this, because there are a lot of people who are always concerned about weight loss and they're going to do it one way or another. So now, they have a very practical and sustainable set of tips they can use to guide them. Thank you for sharing those and being authentic about how the weight loss journey really goes. ❤️

    This was really great advice..
    I think it is important to learn how to eat out healthy, going out to eat with friends is kind of very important & healthy eating doesn't have to stop just because your eating out!
    One thing I do is try to scan the menu on line if you know where your going, if I'm eating lower carbs, I try to find lower carb options, like a steak with butter or with a bernaise, grilled fish,grilled chicken ect.. if going to a cafe I might order the eggs benedict ask for extra smoked salmon, halloumi & avocado (extra good fats keep you fuller for longer) ect.. when it comes I just don't eat the bread underneath it, but sometimes I splurge & if the bread is sour dough bread I will eat it, but only one slice if there are two slices!
    Choose a entree & main or a main & dessert.
    Pizza choose a healthy topping with good proteins, thin crust & get a salad... eat a couple of slices with the salad... no dressing on salad or ask if they have olive oil & lemon, skip garlic bread, or have one piece.
    Choosing a yoghurt berry smoothie as a treat over a milk shake or thick shake ect...
    Also a little trick my french nan taught me if you want a dessert like a mousse ect.. eat it in a small dish with a teaspoon & really enjoy it!
    If cutting back on sugar & carbs... my go to is berries & cream :) I love this, you can even soak your berries, esp. strawberries in champagne (Low carb) or in balsamic with basil really super delicious (little more higher in sugar, but super healthy)
    Champagne is my go to special drink, or one of those older cocktails not too heavy in spirits, they tend to have more liquors that are not too high in alcohols.
    skip the bread, or if ordered by others & your tempted... just have a slice.
    When a the movies, I actually splurge & just enjoy myself :) I love ice-cream so choctop is my go to special treat at the cinemas
    Out for a latte ... get almond milk (it has a little sugar in it, no lactose & sweet enough without added sweetener's or sugars)
    And lastly bottled water, either sparkling or spring is my best friend.
    Ps: eating protein's & healthy fats first help to slow down digestion & keeps glucose spikes more steady & even

      Ok, that is information inspired by "Glucose Goddess", who is just another fad diet person. Some of her information is valuable, but it mostly enforces a very eating disordered mindset for people to see food and their bodies. She exaggerates a lot of things/facts and denies things that we actually know to be true, like "cholesterol has no influence on heart disease". Any influencer who says something so opposite of the actual science is instantly discrediting themselves.

    This is super helpful, but I'm wondering if you can make a video about changing your mindset and the psychology of changed behaviors. Let me explain...
    I'm in my 40s and not overweight, but it is a struggle to stay where I am. It always has been a struggle. I grew up not hearing messages about mindful eating - that was not discussed when I was young (it was all diets and deprivation). I have since learned about intuitive eating and totally see the benefit. When I go on vacation, I eat very mindfully so that I don't come home five pounds heavier. It works - I know it does. But after I get home, I slip back into old behaviors - eating at certain times rather than when I'm hungry, not paying attention to when I'm full.
    So my question is this - how do I change my mindset after so many years of certain behaviors? Why is it so hard to change when I KNOW what to do and how to do it?
    Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Lucie!

    What's your opinion on the rule of not mixing fats and carbs together? Is that true or is it just a myth??

    • @dafinyan4075
      @dafinyan4075 2 года назад +3

      I don’t understand why you shouldn’t mix them. No food is just carbs or just fats (except of plain sugar and oils), so you will always have some fat and some carbs in your meals. I think those rules are just there to confuse us and make us more uncertain and anxious about nutrition….

    • @daysoftheboo
      @daysoftheboo 2 года назад +1

      @@dafinyan4075 it is very confusing I've been learning as much as I can about nutrition and I stumbled into the "Randall cycle" and "food combination rules" claim that mixing the two macros will cause weight gain and health problems, I looked into RUclipsrs like Bart Kay but I don't understand anything he says, according to him you can eat as many calories as you want and not gain weight as long as you're not mixing the macros, calories in calories out doesn't matter according to him, I myself don't eat this way I do mix my carbs and my fats together it helps with my blood sugar balance but I have to admit I do have moments where I feel paranoid and anxious and wonder am I doing the right thing for my health? But this is the way we've been eating for many years, when I was a child I never heard anyone say "don't mix carbs with fats" it's definitely triggering even if I don't follow these rules it's still affects my orthorexia that I'm trying to heal from, that's why I'm looking for RUclipsrs who have more of a realistic approach to nutrition I don't want to be so dogmatic and strict with myself anymore that only cost me health problems

    • @Edukalebylucie
      @Edukalebylucie  2 года назад +6

      Don't worry about it, it's not science-based, just a myth☺

    • @daysoftheboo
      @daysoftheboo 2 года назад +1

      @@Edukalebylucie 😄 I want it to be just a myth! Mixing carbs and fat is a delicious combination and I think it's healthy when you take a healthy carb and a healthy fat and put it together it becomes a healthy meal, I wonder how that myth started but I definitely want to let go of that fear 🙏🏻
