Fun project! I have a small shunting/switching layout for N scale too, however it's contained in a pair of shoeboxes and therefore I can take it virtually anywhere and run it.

Hey Will, great to know that you havent given up on railway modelling. Just to let you know that a couple of my recent purchases include the awesome Dapol DRS livery class 68 and the new Bachmann GBRf class 66 named 'Evening Star', both are absolutely awesome models. When you can you must purchase the Dapol 68, you will be blown away by how brilliant it is.
Back when I was in university, I attended a course on AI and one project involved a train shunting wagons from one end of a yard to another only the locomotive couldn't go under a bridge and so had to go the long way around, pushing and pulling the wagons. I was the only one in a class of 20 to solve it and I couldn't have don't it without my model trains haha
Watched u will for almost 7 years I love trains and I have my own layout being built and have a ton of trains both hornby and Bachmann. You’ve inspired me to make this dream of having all these things a reality. Your reviews made me go out and buy the same train because of the passion you have for them. But these breaks suck and I know the situation and it’s terrible. I’m done waiting for months at a time for a new vid and I will continue constructing my layout without you peace.
Hi Will..... Interesting idea, now that I've moved into an apartment, I have been thinking of a simple shelf layout. Using n gauge is a good idea. No idea of the cost of any n gauge stuff here in the USA but it will be fun planning it out. I'm looking forward to part 2
Hey will/ic82. If you are ever in Somerset I would love it if you ever came to the east Somerset railway and maybe you could do a meet up. It is a lovely stretch of preserved line and they have a couple of old steam locos ( couldn't say specifically which). Obviously not saying you have to but it makes a great day out and they have a small model shop there as well so win win. It would be lovely to see you there one day.

Hi, you can use the full depth of the window sill by cutting a bevel on the underside of the board, thus getting the edge of the board to the window frame. Also why not go around the side bits and have a building or something wrapping around the wall. By the way - many congrats on the adoption. kids are absolutely cosmic.
At the end of this can you do another minecraft series? Maybe building lots of locomotives (instead of just Thomas the Tank) in a survival minecraft world. Of course Lisa will have to be involved too!

Ic82 go to the south devon railway, its about seven miles long, lots of fun stuff there other than a train ride aswell, i suggest you look at the model shop, its like the best one in the uk.

N, 00-9, 00 and 0 gauge is there along with many train sets and things from airfix as well as other modelling companies.

A good idea for the fiddle yard is to use one of the odd sections on the window sill and then have the fiddle yard off of the end of the odd sections
