Nice vid Will shame about the weather 08 shunters are one of my favourites. If I did a N gauge project I would use a pair of class 20s with different hopper wagons or use a stanier black 5 with mineral wagons or something more modern like a class 66 EWS with 8 wheeled wagons.
So, my trains are in the loft, nailed to a table. But there are also Wasps and stuff up there, I want to work on my model railway, but don't want to get stung. What should I do?
Here is a random one for you Will or any others with 'N' experience will Graham Farish train set track work with the Peco set track? Dont really fancy a £55 mistake. Thank you
Make no mistake n gauge is the way to go for a home setup if you want realistic running length, they have also come a long way from what they were years ago, brilliantly detailed trains and a massive variety now. I think farish have the better motors than dapol, dapol seem to be very hard to maintain internally. And that rain on the roof adds to the effect! Good Video!
Nice review you have done there, considering that its an N Gauge loco that you are looking at it has a wealth full of detail. It does look like a scaled down version of the Bachmann OO Gauge, & Bachmann have done an excellent job to do this in a smaller scale, there is not much in compromises on the detail to. Happy Modelling, Phil
Nice to see some N gauge, IC82! Great little loco. Will you be bothering with the new welsh/british Narrow Gauge locos bachmann will put out soon? By the way, nice 262 and Westland Whirlwind.
Nice vid Will! I'd quite like to see a review of Tornado or Blue Peter by Graham Farish, perhaps with some Maroon or Blood and Custard Mk1s. If I did a similar thing to you with the N gauge project, when I'm not transporting sweets, I'd have something like a passenger train, just to run for fun and to have something running on the layout to satisfy my love of trains.
InterCity82 Sounds like a plan! My layout will, for now, remain thoroughly DC, as many of my locos are not DCC ready and while they can be fitted, it is too much of a faff, especially with split-chassis locos which require complete dismantling to do, and even my experienced modelling friends find a daunting prospect. I may get some vids up of the layout and my locos when it is in a presentable state, but that may take a while :) Have you seen the RHDR vids I've uploaded yet? Cheers for the reply and keep up the good work ;)
hey ,if anyone else wants to learn about how to build a model railway layout try Megarno Railroad Membership Magician (just google it ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my partner got cool success with it.
N gauge is half the size of OO ! Nay nay , 1/2 as long , 1/2 as wide and 1/2 tall . That's 1/8 the size/volume/mass etc . 1/2 the scale yes but in a 3D world 1/8 size. Great video , keep 'em coming .
Hi Will (InterCity82 ) How's it going? When are you going to do a video on your proper layout? Also when are you going to the Churnet Valley Railway? If you end up going, tell me as I could probably get you a cab ride if I am working there that day!!! Nice videos. Keep them up!!!
I have a British Intercity 125. The motor was so horrendously bad that I ended up taking it out and replacing it with a Tomytec one. Far from good looking but the original motor was just too awful to use. I have an Intercity Class 47 as well, but I am not sure if it's British or Chinese made.
Hey, I have a question, how do you cope with the power on such a large layout? I'm asking because currently I've heard I need a power booster and that's seems too complicated
Nice Review Will :)) I also have 2 N Gauge Class 08's (One in BR Blue and in BR Green) They are lovely little locos LOL! How Dou you make custom Thumbnails on your channel? They are very nice :))
I have several early British made GF stock, and I have to disagree with your comment that it's 'rubbish'. I have not only found that they run exceptionally well if properly maintained, but actually they run far smoother and far more reliably than the modern Chinese made stuff. This is a common experience with the 5 British made lcoos I have; Pannier tank, Castle, Black 5, Spam can, and 4F. They all run remarkably well, and although their detail is not comparable with the modern stuff, they are much more sturdy.
To fully enjoy N scale railroad modeling it is best to use Kadee couplers, especially for shunting. Some of the producers today sell their product with Kadee couplers. In the past not so long ago all of the producers used the awful Rapido knuckle couplers whose springs became shot quickly, All of the Rapido couplers on locos and rolling stock can be replaced with Kadee couplers. Tedious watch work it is, but worth every second which pays back in spades. Rapido couplers suck. Why did the manufacturers produce them for so long, the few decades?
N scale is great with the usage of Kadee couplers. Product is being produced by many of the manufacturers today with Kadee. If you are starting out with N scale, figure in your calculations the expense in changing all of the Rapido couplers to Kadee. Rapido couplers suck, period. Please do a video with N scale changing Rapido couplers to Kadee for all the folks to see how it is done IC82. Doing so will reveal why all serious N scale modelers do so.
SeaToby11 I do hate the couplers that come as standard - so I will do a special video in the future on swapping them all for Kadee couplers - definitely! Thanks for the comment.
The Reverend W. Awdry had one of their rubbish OO models, a Black 5 that he purchased used to represent Henry. It worked okayish when he converted it to 3-rail, but it was still a Graham Farish and additionally had been filthy and full of fluff when he bought it. After getting converted back to 2-rail it eventually got worse and worse and was junked.
DAPOL still make there own models here in the UK. Backmann models are terrible 😔 they never stay on the tracks. Pieces always fall off. I only shop at DAPOL now.
Great video I'm looking forward to getting on very soon love the British rail blue gives it character and I love the detail great model 😊
Very enjoyable and helpful review. Recommend joining the Bachmann Collector's club. The magazine alone is worth the "price of admission".
tardisbob I'll definitely do it in the new year!
I have 400 locos from farish and I would say almost 200 of them are made in Britain and all of mine run fantastic
Good for you
Great review. This loco is truly great! I have a limited edition version which also performs superbly
***** Nice!
Can't wait to see the review of that loco that looked a lot like a 14 in part ten!
Nice vid Will shame about the weather 08 shunters are one of my favourites. If I did a N gauge project I would use a pair of class 20s with different hopper wagons or use a stanier black 5 with mineral wagons or something more modern like a class 66 EWS with 8 wheeled wagons.
Conrad Bennett Nice, very nice! Yeah a Black Five in N gauge would look great, as would a pair of Class 20s and even some modern 66s.
Good job Craig wasn't around, cant imagine all the hoppers making it back full :)
Cracking video and very informative as usual. Great job mate.
Marten Hall Thanks for the feedback!
So, my trains are in the loft, nailed to a table. But there are also Wasps and stuff up there, I want to work on my model railway, but don't want to get stung. What should I do?
Ask the council to get the wasp infestation treated.
Here is a random one for you Will or any others with 'N' experience will Graham Farish train set track work with the Peco set track? Dont really fancy a £55 mistake.
Thank you
OH now i want an Ngauge Model train with fully car that carry my smarties around my table :)
Why not ey 🤣
@@theautolad9507 :D i dont remember this ahahah
@@Hackanhacker 😂
Will you lie! You did the Graham Farish class150? set. Lol it was the review that made me buy one. :D
ListerDavid Haha, yup. I had completely forgotten about the 150 set! But it's never used. And can't transport anything so won't ever be used.
:( I thought you liked that set as it was one you yourself travelled on?
ListerDavid I do like it - it's just never used.
I have a Graham Farish Pannier tank engine. Very nice little model to run.
hello
Hi What couplings are on this model please as I here they are not compatible with dapol magnet couplings
Great video , i have same model ( my only loco ) and would agree on everything apart from the fact it has no dcc socket.
Excellent review. Does she have sprung buffers?
Jacob Porrett Haha, no! We're lucky she has buffers at all lol
Great video here Remember these in the 1980s When I was a boy.
that day shall never be spoken of in english history again!
Wow!The fineness of this train can be comparable to that of HO
In Eastleigh Southampton we have an RSS class 08 runs everyday and is a great workhorse
woot!! more trains!! :D
Great video!
I bought one of these the very first week it was released.... 1979? The cost then? I paid £9! Wish I still had it :(
Does it have any problems going over insulfrog points ?
Great vid!! That class was tiny although it was n scale it was really good
hey, i have a model eurostar but it has no lights. do u think u can put some in ? im rubbish at that stuff
Good Video!
do you think theres enough room in this model to convert to dcc?
Nice review you have done there, considering that its an N Gauge loco that you are looking at it has a wealth full of detail.
It does look like a scaled down version of the Bachmann OO Gauge, & Bachmann have done an excellent job to do this in a smaller scale, there is not much in compromises on the detail to.
Happy Modelling,
Phil
my layout is n gauge partly because I don't have the space for a 00 but I have 3 class 08 because I love them so much
this can be used for the N Scale Candy Track
Are you going to get the class 52. I loved your vid I wish you could carry on the N gauge series.
How did you build the whole bridge
Nice to see some N gauge, IC82! Great little loco. Will you be bothering with the new welsh/british Narrow Gauge locos bachmann will put out soon?
By the way, nice 262 and Westland Whirlwind.
***** I sure will! I think they'll have quite a bit of a following, so I'll be sure to check them out.
Haven't you done one of their Class 150s, ergo making this not the first time the brand's been mentioned?
***** You're right! I had completely forgotten about the 150 set. But it's never used. And it can't transport anything so it won't ever be used.
..
InterCity82 at 8:35 ive got that train
Nice vid Will! I'd quite like to see a review of Tornado or Blue Peter by Graham Farish, perhaps with some Maroon or Blood and Custard Mk1s. GWR178 Haha, a very nice idea, indeed! Maybe a good future project would be to DCC the layout and control multiple trains at once!
InterCity82 Sounds like a plan! My layout will, for now, remain thoroughly DC, as many of my locos are not DCC ready and while they can be fitted, it is too much of a faff, especially with split-chassis locos which require complete dismantling to do, and even my experienced modelling friends find a daunting prospect. is this compatible with fleischmann or minitrix?
nice review Will :-D will there be a N gauge black 5 pulling a non stop M&M freight :-D
foxcell Haha, a Black Five would be ideal.
hey ,if anyone else wants to learn about how to build a model railway layout try Megarno Railroad Membership Magician (just google it ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my partner got cool success with it.
Very nice video, I enjoy seeing your British locomotives. Here in America, our smarties aren't shaped like that. They are shaped like a hockey puck
***** Thanks for the comment!
Yeah, I do agree dude
N gauge is half the size of OO !

When are you going to do battle of the shunters?
Maki Gallagher Part 2 goes up tonight.
You're right with this all the way!!! Badgers Green (My layout check, it out) has one and this little 08 by farish is fantastic!!!
Looks like a great little model! Are you going to review the other N gauge shunters covered up in your N gauge project part 10?
Montagueduck48 A rather special video on those is coming up!
How is n gauge compared to ho scale?
Tiny.
A little smaller than half the size.
I have a British engine. It's a GWR tank (forget what one) but it's one from the local lines. It is so temperamental to run >.
Hey how much was the loco
I have a British Intercity 125. The motor was so horrendously bad that I ended up taking it out and replacing it with a Tomytec one. Far from good looking but the original motor was just too awful to use.
I have an Intercity Class 47 as well, but I am not sure if it's British or Chinese made.
When is building a model railway part 2 coming
would love to do a O gauge project similar to your N gauge project I could carry heap loads of M&Ms and Millions

Hey, I have a question, how do you cope with the power on such a large layout? I'm asking because currently I've heard I need a power booster and that's seems too complicated
I have the EWS Version with DCC I installed
Justin Gilmore Nice!

SteamDreamProductions There's SO many of them to do that an entire week will be dedicated to them.
Can you do a class 42 warship by bachmann any livery or a class 156 northern rail by hornby p.s I really like your vids keep it going
Hahe, the British stuff that isn't made in Britain, classic :P
JintySteam - just like Triumph motorbikes that sell as British & are made in Thailand 😏
BR green for me will. graham farish steel worker with a class 08.
Nice Review Will :)) I also have 2 N Gauge Class 08's (One in BR Blue and in BR Green) They are lovely little locos LOL! How Dou you make custom Thumbnails on your channel? They are very nice :))
olivertj47 Thanks for the comment! The thumbnails are put together in Photoshop.
Smart train
i like the class 03 and 04
13:34 thingy,
will trade the rain for 118F/47.7c degree weather

Why is it that anytime someone says "Bachmann" it sounds like they're saying "Batman" ?
(pretends to be an N scale person) Mmmmmmm, giant smarties 8D
Hi will please check out my review of the steel worker i would love you to see it
I heard that you love class 37. Butt I like class o8.
You should review some more American trains that would be cool
Yay :D
its not a zoom its macro :)

ZeldaTheSwordsman Interesting!
InterCity82
He was quite the railway modeller, the Reverend.
I have two new train videos on my page brad shaw
DAPOL still make there own models here in the UK. Backmann models are terrible 😔 they never stay on the tracks. Pieces always fall off. I only shop at DAPOL now.
Is every guy in England that collects model trains a little funny? They seem so prissy and a bit strange.
First 7 minutes is irrelevant banal waffle.
Skip to 7:00 if you want to see the actual unboxing.
seems you do like trains since your spending your own time watching model railway reviews
Great vid!! That class was tiny although it was n scale it was really good
