Marc Hunter was a god, and Dragon was the greatest thing to ever come out of New Zealand. No other band from there comes close, and he’s up there with the greatest frontmen in the history of music
I still remember getting to see Dragon and the Choirboys one night at the Jubilee hotel in Brisbane…. It was just a random thing I saw in Time off magazine and it ended up being one the best nights haha. It was actually raining when they sung Rain.
I'm in my kitchen at 2am in the morning I've listened to all my favourite dragon tracks I've had a good time listening to these great songs thank you Mark hunter your a legend
I remember it so well.our local flat radio station played all their hits as a tribute while my bro and I drank beers the tray of a f100 we just painted....end of a huge part of most young ANZAC music lovers...Dragon rock on
I heard this on the radio today and I turned up and was singing and my 5 year old son was just looking at me! Lol! 🤣 Trip down memory lane and I have played it about 10 times now.....it's pumping right now! Love it!!!! Thank you for the wonderful memories ❤❤❤❤
this music vid was filmed/recorded at a warehouse in Matraville, I was nearby working and heard the music, which was a great distraction from normal work. The cemetery location was Botany Cemetery. The girl, Lisa Hensley, was later in Brides of Christ and many Aussie productions, she was also with Naomi Watts.
@@Yeowiepower Ahh same thing, both NZ and AU had awesome bands up until about 2000 when that was all abolished, and they began promoting music from the US, which was mostly rnb
I agree that's the third dragon song I've heard which the other two were young years and rain. this song still sounds great as it would've done thirty years ago. great stuff!
What a amazing band to have hit after hit your a legend marc hunter you are sadly missed all these years so much dragon will never die like marc amazing
Thank you Daisy! If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have had the chance to listen to this golden song! If you ever see this text me. I lost all the means to contact you.
just love all the songs, such a shame that Dragon never got the exposure that they deserved....all the songs are top 10 songs....I love Marcs voice...:-)
Ants Bull Technically they were BOTH. They FORMED in New Zealand in 1972, and the 4 ORIGINAL members are from NZ, but after the move to Sydney in 1975 they were based there for the remainder of their career. Of the 40 strong past and present members of Dragon, only 8-10 of those 40 were Kiwi's, the rest were from Australia or England.
Sorry to correct, but this is indeed Todd Rundgren playing on this one. Tommy played on most of the album but this track and "midnight sun" from the same album are virtually all Todd - even the BVs. TR has a very distinctive vibrato which can be clearly heard here.
Wow!! Really? Thanks for that Tony, I always presumed that it was Tommy having never seen them live. Thought it was quite different to Tommy's playing (even though he sure can rock when he wants to), but had no idea that Todd Rundgren was on the album, cheers ;)
The guitar solo is Todd. I worked for Tommy as front of house engineer for a number of years. Tony Featherstone is right. Tom doesn't play like that. Different vibrato, different note choices. It was one of the songs from that album that was principally a Todd creation.
I think Dragon could have got to the heights of bands like Def Leppard. Get out of that aussie pub rock scene. They had the potential to be a classic rock band on the world stage imo.
I used to have this on vinyl. The sound was so much better than this. I’ve read that vinyl sounds better than digital, but I didn’t realize the difference would be so stark.
I'm glad your uaed the original audio rather than the video clip audio which completly ruined the song with the stupid actor rambling on throughout. I have no doubt this song would'vw been bigger if not for the "actors voices" all the way through. BTW, is your VN Atlas Grey? Stick shift or auto?
I will never understand how Dragon never achieved world domination. They were a phenomenal band.
They did for 2 Days
You need to pay or that, they are not going to promote you if you dont provide the funds to the media.

My fav DRAGON song 🐲🐉💚🤍💚
34 years later this song still gives me goosebumps, this band is world class....RIP Marc
I loved this song when I was 15 now I'm 51 hearing it for the 1st time since around then. Ordinary men keep living the dream
🎧😎
Lol, I was 13, now 50. Dreams.. was the very first CD I ever bought in Jan '87. Still have it, still play it!
Such an iconic 80s song.
I grew up with Dragon. Mark Hunter passed away a while ago. I will always remember him.

Already 20 years since Marc Hunter sadly passed away... but the music lives on

That’s so cool 😎
Dragon was so very underrated...They had an awesome sound !
One of the best ever
20 Years ago today (17/7/1998) we lost a great singer
Another stellar Todd Rundgren production and his solo is a stunner
This song gives me the chills... I still remember the audio cassette in my father's car playing this song, back then.. GREAT!
Fantastic!
Marks vocals are awesome!😊
Absolutely epic song. Such a fantastic band...
I miss this type of music it kills the music of today
Thank you Dragon for so many terrific songs. I still enjoy them all these years later!
Who's here in 2022 ...it's like a freedom song ! We need now
One of the best songs , definately my top 10
This has always been my song👍
Probably the greatest of our aussie brothers/singers.Great voice matched by some top songs.Died too young like many others.
Our Marc was the Best Frontman of ALL TIME! Great song....Miss you madly Marc! ❤
Still miss Marc too x
Listening whilst in lockdown and putting a smile on my face 😀👌
Unbelievable song and harmony. WOW....Australian product!!
They’re kiwi! But they were based in Australia. Coming from an Aussie proud of our brothers across the ditch coming out with amazing bands
@@Yeowiepower Ahh same thing, both NZ and AU had awesome bands up until about 2000 when that was all abolished, and they began promoting music from the US, which was mostly rnb
Tommy Emmanuel plays brilliantly on this!
Kiwi.
You could wake up to this song everyday.
I think I did. 😆
Love this band - sad we missed out on this in the Northern Hemisphere
Whenever I hear songs from this time I immediately correlate them to the year I was in school.
Bring the 80s back
I agree that's the third dragon song I've heard which the other two were young years and rain. this song still sounds great as it would've done thirty years ago. great stuff!
They were so good .......
Still are.

Everybody loves the 80s style keyboard

Thanks very much mate...my youth suddenly comes flashing back!!!!
Quality upload! My favourite Dragon song. Thanks.

Such an awesome band.
yep a true classic....
Aaaaah man....widdly widdly widdly go the guitars!!!! Thank you a thousand times for posting.
Great song sounds so 80s without looking at the mullets. Classic Rundgren bastardized guitar solo. Makes me miss the 80s!
These guys should have been big in the states.....:)
Hear Todd Rundgren's influence in here BIG TIME!!
at 0:16 an old Dairy Farmers milk carton haha. Great Aussie rock.
they were a Kiwi band - but same difference

10/10 hands down , do not pass go do not collect $200 🤗

Underrated

Nothin' wrong with that solo!

I'm not sure but I think it was specially made for this song, looks like Bruce Spence playing the giro-copter pilot in Mad Max 2.
It is indeed Bruce Spence. He is such a great character actor
I got Marc Hunter's Biography for Christmas 2011, looks like an interesting read.
Go Stork. he pops up everywhere.
I believe it was a post-apocalyptic inspired film clip and that is indeed Bruce Spence but the scene is not from any movie as far as I know
Produced by Todd Rundgren
@The18Angus This is the CD you're looking for, has all the good ones.. ;]
DRAGON: Snake Eyes On The Paradise - Greatest Hits 1976-1989
I think Dragon could have got to the heights of bands like Def Leppard. Get out of that aussie pub rock scene. They had the potential to be a classic rock band on the world stage imo.
AMEN!!
You hear the Todd influence
That are going to darwin.👋10/8/2017.👍💯
They're a missed group. It would be great if Marc and Paul were still with us.
I was at JB-HI-FI the other day and picked up The Essential Dragon cd and realised that this song wasmt on their..wtf is up wit that,
This song has an uncanny resemblance to Hey St Peter by Flash N The Pan.
I used to have this on vinyl. The sound was so much better than this. I’ve read that vinyl sounds better than digital, but I didn’t realize the difference would be so stark.
@calmindon25 Glad you liked it... Enjoy!
Australian band produced by Todd Rundgren
@bon3rox
I have that CD. It is brilliant, and I recommend it to all Dragon fans. It has all their great hits on it!
dont mess with bruce spence
Wow how did u get rid of all the talking /acting in this clip? Amazing work, must have took you hours to edit? 😮
Dear 80's,
Trade songs?
Only one Marc Hunter.
Dragon was him.
What movie was this scene from??...
The film clip was a bit vague couldn't find the meaning .
Great song anyways
and their mate Tommy Emmanuel doing the guitar solo honours on this track
nah...that is Todd. His sound is unmistakable. Tommy on most of the album, but not this track
170,419 XO
gtr solo has 2 be todd
just saw Bruce Spence in the clip, is Tommy Emmanuel playing in this?
yes
thanks

Tommy Emmanuel Guitar!!
Killer. KILLER!! Ultimately probably too American slick for Dragon and their Aussie fans but who cares. Rungren and Hunter gold. Gold Jerry!
Very disappointed that i cant find this particular song for karaoke at all.... it's like they vanished!! :(
scary song .
@The18Angus I dont think any of the 80s Dragon hits on that compliation which is disappointing
