OH THE 70's... what music we were privileged too Australia has some really awesome bands.. Ted Mulry, AC/DC, Skyhooks and so much more.... I really feel for the kid of today and the shit they are subjected to listening too...
Yes, it was a very carefree time in the 70's, 90% of people were cool. Ted Mulry was an awesome guy, he'd always give you 15 seconds of his time to say G'day mate or Did you enjoy the gig? As a teenager who loved their music and their heroes, Ted was certainly one of mine. I saw Steve Mulry and the Gang recently and they opened the gig with " My Little Girl" and that blew my mind with excitement and exhilaration.
Great Aussie band and song. Loved this song when I was little back then. I just turned 59 and I play this song often at the pub where I work, the young ones aren't familiar with it but the old-timers love it. 🇦🇺
I was lucky enough to see the Ted Mulry Gang on 3 occasions back in the 70s at our high school dances, along with Hush, Dragon, the Angels and Rose Tattoo. Great Times.👍🏻👍🏻
@@Elitist20 Yep Those 'immigrants' all arrived, worked their collective arses off to help weave the fabric of what has become a paradise. For each name you've mentioned there are literally 100's of Aussie born stars too. Ted, Vanda & Young, AC/DC, JPY, Doc Neeson, Barnesy... all might have arrived from somewhere else, but them staying because they wanted to made them 'Aussies'.
You gotta be kidding me. You are obviously not Australian of my vintage. You got me curious though. Now I gotta go look for this. Hasselhoff indeed. The best thing he ever did was save sponge bob square pants for my grand daughters. He could not even drive a car it drove itself. I was born in the eighties but feel like I was born 20 or 30 years too late. From what I've been told and from witness accounts the 70s were a great time to be alive. If I had a time machine Australia in the 1970s would be my first destination. I must agree that the PC babies and the divide by left and right politics have ruined our once great nation. Much respect to my parents and anyone else who grew up during this great era of freedom.
I was there that day under the harbour bridge. My first ever concert. Ted Mulry, AC/DC, Dark Tan, Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs and John Paul Young. So cool.
Does anyone remember the concerts in Victoria Park in Sydney where not only TMG but other great bands such as LRB performed free - Take us back to those days thank goodness for You Tube and great times
I saw Steve and the boys at The Bridge Hotel in Rozelle a couple of years ago. They opened the gig with " My Little Girl " TMG don't play LIVE enough though. I would go and see them on a monthly basis if I could. I love the band and the memory of the Ted.
I had TMG written all over my school stuff. Among Sherbet, Hush, Sweet, BCRollers and more! Such a great time to carry around your mini CASSETTE deck on your school bag. Damn those batteries!
Classic song ! Nowadays who would hitch-hike hey particularly in #victoria #Australia where there is a 5km radius of travel ! Bring on the 80s #gold1043 😆😆😆😆🙏🙌🙏🙌🙏

my bestie who at the time was only like 16yrs old would follow the band and even slept in bus shelters. She was sooo crushed on Les. Gawd I remember when a new album came out after school she was jumping up and down on her bed. She had them plastered all over her bedroom .lol
Wow I still remember all the words after 48 years 🥴😊
When she said "You told me that you were a really nice guy" and he said "Well I ain't" is one of the best and funniest lines in pop music.
My mum used to sing the beginning of this song when she picked me up from school, gotta love a 'Strayan childhood. Good memories :)
My pop still does that
Bloody Oath mate
Ha Ha! Not really appropriate from a Mum or Dad, but good Aussie fun.
That's brilliant
One of the most underrated songs in history

Reminds me of The Waitress on Always Sunny.😁

Seems like there was a decent crowd there. Were there other bands playing that day?
wish I had been there, great song and a great band.
aussieboy77 John Paul Young band is another i remember
What year was it ??
Thorpie and the Aztecs played and ??????
I snuck out to see them while working at Luna Park.
Back when Aussie music was distinctly Aussie.
There were so many great Aussie pub bands back then in the 70's especially from Melbourne - great memories.
Sung by a Brit
