    As a local, happen to see something on Facebook about it and said the same thing about why wasn’t it better advertised?! Had such a good time, and now I’m actually looking up things about the sport and debating if I want to reach out to Palmetto Knights about coming to a practice to se what that is all about. Fantastic event and can’t wait to go again next year!

    We are hoping to do some changes to food next year but we are pretty severely limited with the venue, but we will put up more signage for sure next year! (I run the vendor aspect which we added this year.)
    Also, that PA system has been that way for 30 years, but I will also see if anything can be adjusted.

      Also, as the newest addition to the planning, working on the vendor and festival side, we have a whole new marketing strategy for next year; I am a Clemson alumnus and have a background in sports media so I am going to be hitting the local area hard, and we plan to do some monthly videos, would love to talk and see how we can work together!

    If I recall, neck shots are only called to the back of the neck in BI - sides are fair game. It's banned all around in IMCF.

      I think banning all around should be the standard but even back of the neck had some scary shots that I saw. I think it's just something that needs to be kept an eye on. Overall I liked how little the refs called things or sat people and let the fighters fight. Just that one issue I think could use more attention.

      That was updated to "Permitted strike zone excludes feet, groin, back of the knee, back and front of the neck, the base of the skull." for 2024.
      There were some questionable strikes but it's a hard job for the marshals to see everything

    • @woodchuckknight7820
      @woodchuckknight7820  6 месяцев назад

      Oh yeah. Being a marshal is definitely hard. I'll just continue to challenge them to improve as I do fighters. @@chasetheninjasniper

      @@woodchuckknight7820 I completely agree. I’m a marshal too and I understand both side of the coin. There will always be room for improvement

      I think that there should be a better way to land solidly on these rules AND communicate them succintly to fighters before the matches. At current, the fact that different leagues have slightly varying distinctions in their rulesets can be very confusing (especially for new fighters) and we can definitely improve upon the communication there. In this case, it was communicated to me that all shots to the lower third of the helm should be avoided entirely. Now this might have been an abundance of caution being conveyed, but regardless of that, I think the rules could take being a LOT more accessible to the entire population of individual fighters.

    As one of the armorers at this event, I could not ask for kinder clients needing repairs

    I had a blast. My first tournament so it really spoiled me. The weapon checks were kind of a bummer for silly reasons. Maybe some tedious calls by the Marshalls. Overall a fantastic time.

      The good news is fighting all over the country just keeps getting better and better. More tournaments and more events.

      Thank you! I appreciate the comment. No I haven't fought on the Sentinels, just against them many times. I try and support teams by buying their shirts and I really like the design and fit of this shirt.

    Buhurt International - Buhurt Rules 2024
    3.1 Permitted strike zone excludes feet, groin, back of the knee, back and front of the neck, the base of the skull.
    I think the confusion comes from weapon STRIKES to the SIDE are allowed. IDK if that's the best rule, but where it is ATM.
    I think this this often confused with the rules on weapon pressure on the neck in grapples.
    4.8 Any grips, clamps, suffocation techniques with direct pressure of any part of the body, equipment and weapons on the neck.
    This in itself is also important to know that the weapon must be under the lower lip of the skull of the helm to be in illegal position.

    • @woodchuckknight7820
      @woodchuckknight7820  6 месяцев назад

      I actually saw very little issue with grapples around the neck. Those seemed pretty clean. Even excluding side of the neck I saw some definite back of the neck shots that had me worried.

    The Marshalls fixed the weapons issues mid event I believe
