I have not kept up with politics very long as I am young. I don’t know much about state politics. However, I see the changes that have been made in Minnesota, especially in the education department, and it’s been wonderful. It’s a good time to live in Minnesota and I’m happy to see someone who aided that become VP

I am very happy V.P. Harris chose Gov. Walz! When he was a young boy his Dad died. He went to college. Became a high school teacher and coach. Served in the National Guard for 20 years. Served as U.S. Representative for 12 years. Chaired the Veterans Committee. A 2 term Governor. Hunts, fishes, and believes in individual privacy, growing families, and neighbors helping neighbors. A plain talker, good-hearted guy.

The home the press keeps showing is the governors mansion not his personal home. The 20 room English Tudor house has nine bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and nine fireplaces. Minnesota has always had its finger on the pulse of the people. ALL people. We were lucky to have Mark Dayton as a governor and when he left for the Senate, I worried about who would be our next governor. And then we got Tim Walz. As a Black Minnesotan I learned he was cut from the same cloth as Dayton. Like Dayton, he proved he would show up in the spaces where Black folks were to talk about our concerns. I am sooo proud Kamala Harris chose him!! I'm just worried about who our new governor will be. 😊

Why would CBS show Tim Walz' home? That has nothing to do with his selection. These are not times to expose where a politician should be able to exhale and reflect.
Certain states (including Minnesota) require governors to live in the Governor's Mansion, which is akin to the White House in that it's an official government building as well as a home, not just someone's own private property. I'm certain there is good security there.
