Tip for when you guys get to play the game: Kill these things first. They can pretty seriously mess you up if you allow them to throw their hacking around for too long.
The Galactica and her class were. The earlier ones weren't, before the Cylon's developed these hacking capabilities they had no need to defend against them.
Hamblin Approved how early in the war is this? Weren't the first Jupiter Battlestars launched 52 BTF. I wonder why the Colonials Haven't "Retro" fitted the older Warships (Similar to how Gaeta was able to downgrade the Mk VII Viper Computer) I also got the impression that the Cylons started off the war by Disabling everything Colonial that was networked enabling the Cylons to murder millions (Possibly Billions) on their first day of Revolution before the Colonials were able to push the Cylons out of the system beginning the War.
+RichardChed as far as i am aware deadlock takes place mid to late phases of the first cylon war. ") I also got the impression that the Cylons started off the war by Disabling everything Colonial that was networked enabling the Cylons to murder millions (Possibly Billions) on their first day of Revolution before the Colonials were able to push the Cylons out of the system beginning the War."
+Draconis The Wyvern I got this info from an antiquated Galactica Character Dossier written before the Miniseries first aired and was meant to be a general "Guide" for the producers and writers to follow. It described that everything including Gameboy style portable consoles were hacked by the Cylons and that it contributed greatly to the Cylon revolution. But its not definite canon as they changed Baltar's Homeworld from what the Dossiers said so... Deadlock is great and its canon.
I love how this space frame is the first step towards the second Cylon war raiders. Same swept forward "wings", two main drive clusters at the rear with a prominent forward "neck". The real connection is in the role the craft plays in combat. Heavy significance placed on cyber warfare and missiles with limited armor.
Have you ever considered talking about the super weapons within the ace combat universe? Like Stonehenge, Chandler, and the super planes throughout the franchise?
I would like a show covering the "Toaster" Cylons after they went their own way after dropping off the Humans/Human looking Cylons on Earth. Maybe something taking place 200k years later (Present Day).
By kill them first he means to say IGNORE EVERYTHING (other then attacking cylon small craft which can be almost as bad in they are not countered ) and kill them as fast as you can. And yes, I have inside info on this! :-)
Sidonia itself was literally built largely from the materials from that mass of rock and those where just the leftovers that they decided to keep so that they would always have spare materials to help repair the Sidonia with in the journey.
Do you do stuff from books? "Nostalgia For Infinity" will be cool to see. Ultra Light Hugger with Conjoiner engines. Quite slow relative to Sci-Fantasy ships that do multiple c but still cool.
So disabling a battlestar through electronic warfare was a cylon tactic going back to the first war. They really should have seen it coming in the second
I like the difference to the Manticore, the same forward weapons but with a serious sting if they keep the hacking up. I'm really interested to see if the early cylon carriers will be featured in this series, they look like modified cargo ships, wonder if there's a story there.
The first few Cylon ships are in fact repurposed colonial military ships, according to the gameplay videos so far. And later models do start to look a lot like the ships from the main series, including the classic, double saucered baseship. ^^ Spacedock even has a video of one of them out.
The Nemesis has the ability to fire 6 instead of 4 missiles, a third more than it's Colonial counterpart, the Manticore, if you fully overclock the weapons systems. It pays for that by having absolutely no rear defense, so it's totally helpless against Vipers and Raptors carrying rockets, while a Manticore can still defend itself with the rear light guns.
Blood and Chrome is indeed still canon. And many of the designs in Deadlock were intended to foreshadow refits across the war, culminating in what we see in Blood and Chrome. The alterations to the Jupiter class for example. (i.e. the Jupiter has tons of weapons in B&C cos they just got desperate in the late war and ditched all finesse and mission-specific equipment in favor of having a mountain of guns)
So if the Colonies knew these things existed and encountered them in the First Cylon War... How the HELL did Battlestar Galactica EVER happen? Once again, a canon prequel renders its source material down to no fucking sense
You're well within your rights to dislike the designs, but whether or not they are canon is not a matter of opinion. This is a licensed game, commissioned by the IP-Holders. The events of it's story and the ships therein are unequivocally canon.

Spacedock I thought a Battlestar was made to resist hacking by having primitive computers.
The Galactica and her class were. The earlier ones weren't, before the Cylon's developed these hacking capabilities they had no need to defend against them.

dude yes
I wish they would make another BSG show. Definitely one of my favorite sci fi shows. Love the videos, keep them coming!
I would like a show covering the "Toaster" Cylons after they went their own way after dropping off the Humans/Human looking Cylons on Earth. Maybe something taking place 200k years later (Present Day).
If it's broadcasting, it is findable.
If it is findable then it is dead.

I didn't know about some of the designs at first but your descriptions and videos helped wean me into loving everything in Deadlock.
It looks like weird mashup of Mass Effect Turian style pylons and a B5 Hyperion Class Heavy Cruiser central hull...thingy.
The Turian thing hadn't occurred to me but there really are some similarities there.
Sidonia - Knights of Sidonia. I've always been curious of what the mass of rock on the ship was for.
Sidonia itself was literally built largely from the materials from that mass of rock and those where just the leftovers that they decided to keep so that they would always have spare materials to help repair the Sidonia with in the journey.
Cool vid, your breakdowns have piqued my interest in this game. On an unrelated note I'm looking forward to any more Bab5 content coming in the future
The First Cylon War was the eye opener for mankind.
Do you do stuff from books? "Nostalgia For Infinity" will be cool to see. Ultra Light Hugger with Conjoiner engines. Quite slow relative to Sci-Fantasy ships that do multiple c but still cool.
Fantastic video as always! I love the design just as much as I love this kind of promotional material!

Am really looking forward to this game :D
Colina Fleet: HAX!!! FUCKIN' HAX!!!
Great video can you please do any ships from Space Above and Beyond.

More!
Like its counterpart the Manticore, big for a 'corvette' and undergunned for its size.
These little things never ceased to be an annoyance. If you don't kill them quick they'll leave you dead in the water.
Do the Avenger from XCOM 2! :D
Starship troopers ships next!
I wonder if Blood and Chrome is still canon.
Dear god I hope not. CYBER-SNAKE, nooooooo!
Blood and Chrome is indeed still canon. And many of the designs in Deadlock were intended to foreshadow refits across the war, culminating in what we see in Blood and Chrome. Do the pride of hiigara
Ships! ships! ships!
Extremely Ludicrous Ships!
Keep your crummy magics fantasy nerds!!
Preach it, Brother
Ill perchess it!
Wont beet blood an chrom unless more is added. Those bigger adds tho
Can out turn Colonial Vipers??
Just fit ECCM-s to your ship. Oh wait this is not New Eden.
Do space ball 1/mega maid or the eagle 5 from space balls
sighs still havent gotten a reply from them for beta testing :/ been waiting 3 weeks
So if the Colonies knew these things existed and encountered them in the First Cylon War...
How the HELL did Battlestar Galactica EVER happen?

i love your videos and bsg, i just don't like the designs of these new ships and calling them 'canon' is a big no no.
You're well within your rights to dislike the designs, but whether or not they are canon is not a matter of opinion. This is a licensed game, commissioned by the IP-Holders. The events of it's story and the ships therein are unequivocally canon.
I didn't know you were a CBS or Slitherin Games Represenative, Dboydev.
Oh wait.
Spacedock That's why we have "Headcanon" or "Fanon". In this case Canon only means "Official content"
This comment aged like yogurt, lol.
