Did you test the Rotation feature? Rotation is useful if cameras must be mounted upside down on the aircraft. The early EV809D goggles had Rotation as an option in menu, but it didn't work & this option was removed in later shipments. I think this is an important feature if it doesn't slow the capture rate or cause dropped frames. Very anxious for your testing of Rotation. Thanks.
It really needs to be Fat32 not exFat. I had to reformat my 64 gb sd card to be 32 for this. Use diskpart on command line, ask chatgpt what exactly to do. This is the only thing that made it work for me
You said the internal battery is a lipo. Does this mean I have to take „normal“ lipo precautions like drain / load the battery to 3.8v/cell for storage? How would that work on an internal battery pack? Does the goggle come with a „storage mode“ to restore the proper voltage? Just bought one, and now I’m kinda scared to test it without knowing.
Yes it's a lipo, technically you could treat it like any other Lithium Polymer battery and follow the normal guidelines but in reality there's really not much you're going to end up doing with this there's so many other lipos in your daily life that you don't think about you know storage charge or anything like that like take your cell phone for example nobody really cares just use it till it doesn't work and replace the battery once it's bad
@@TweetFPV that’s somewhat of a relief. But your example of cell phones sounds weird, aren’t those Li-Ion batteries and don’t apply for things like storage voltage?
The same maintenance principals apply for lithium based batteries. Certin characteristics of each battery make them more or less susceptible to damage from poor maintance practices. There's a lot of information out there on what is right and some of it contradicts it's self. I either case in regard to your goggles just use them and if the battery life gets unaccepably short just replace the battery. There's nothing special about it. Any battery with the same specs can be used when it comes time for replacement.
Thanks for the review, appreciated the tear down, you're the first I've seen do this and the first I've seen talk about the antennas. Question: Which cheap/value antennas do you recommend? Thanks
Received my pair this week (my first goggles). Haven't flown yet but they hooked up really easily. I wear contacts and think I'll have to wear reading glasses to have a clear view. I haven't tried without contacts/no glasses yet. Was the DVR at the end of the video with stock antennas?
@@TweetFPV So far in the office...for me because my reading vision is going and I need reading glasses...the text is pretty blurry with just my contacts. I will keep you posted as to how I end up using the goggles. I'm kind of thinking I might be able to get away with no glasses/contacts. (just finished building first quad and now have to work up the nerve to fly it...)
Well fit is the other thing the 800d didn't fit very well and were very heavy on my nose. The ev800dm felt lighter and were more comfortable for me. Either way you'll need better antennas too
Yea, with how inexpensive this technology is why not make it 16:9 and 4:3. I'm sure it's a marketing decision to not compete with another product in thier line up.
Thanks for the teardown! One very important detail was left behind though. It's the display model. Was there any part number printed on it, maybe at the back side? In this review displayed appeared to be of different specs from stated in the other goggle. ruclips.net/video/eRvNAv6xAD8/видео.html
Great review. I really liked the teardown. Sometimes you never really know what inside until someone looks.
Haha yea. I've always torn everything apart even as a kid.

Awesome looking goggles, dude! 😃

Great channel! Keep it up.
Thank you!
Hi, great review. Were you able to confirm the stated resolution when you opened it. Maybe a product code of the lcd?
No I didn't see any markings. I trust that the mfg didn't make up numbers on a spec like that. But you never know.
Can you remove the display cable from the Mainboard or is it soldered on?
Does the screen blur when doing fast movements? Thanks for review. Subscribed
No more than any other lcd screen.
Cool. I’m actually going to use the screen and electronics for a little project I’m working on. Been looking for a 3 inch screen.
@@jeffro1005 oh cool.. Probably easier to gut a goggle than to source all the parts separately

whats the pink blob on the dvr playback?
It's a red cover over a Hornaday lnl ap

The axii antennas are great. I linked one of my preferred patch and omni antennas in the video description.
@@TweetFPV Does it take sma or rpsma antennas?
Sma
Hi. My battery on my EV800DM has done its time. Just want to know if I can use a 2sell lipo on this EV800DM GOGGLES.
You need to keep the cell voltage the same as the original. Capasity doesn't matter.
@@TweetFPV so I can use a 1s 3000mah. Can I ask do you know the dimensions of the battery in the EV800DM GOGGLES
Sorry thanks for replying so quickly I really appreciate it 😊
Sorry, I don't remember the dimensions of the battery and I no longer have the goggles.
@@TweetFPV no problem thanks for info.

I'm very curious how they work for people that need corrective lenses.

I hope they work well for you. I would greatly appreciate an update if they work or not for you.
What will you recomend for first pair of goggles? This or Eachine 800D?
Probably the ev800dm. But if you can afford them get the aomway commanders m.banggood.com/beelink/fmrho1
