    Just ordered the 37 key MK3! I bought the 49 MK2 when I first started learning music production, life happened, didn't get to learning more about it until very recently. Now that I see (literally!) the difference between the two models, the MK3 looks WAY more promising for me now. Thank you so much for the video! Glad I stumbled upon it a couple years later :)

    Chord mode are the sole reason I'm looking at these keyboards, initially I was looking at the KeyStep but I don't really need the onboard sequencer, the MK3 looks like a really good price/features and the scale/chord options are even better than Arturia's, for someone that plays with a tracker like Renoise, chords are very difficult, specially if you're a novice, I mainly like to play major and minor chords, this keyboard would surely help in trying new chords that I would never think of.

      I just got this keyboard and it's insane how fast you can move between chords without thinking about it. It really speeds up the creation process since you can change scales, chords, and progressions within seconds. It feels like a cheat god mode almost haha. They did a great job making it so intuitive and fluid.

    Do your computer setups auto map to the new one eventhough the layout is different? Great video! Thanks!

    Great video and thanks for taking the time of producing a so clear comparison.
    I have a MK2 49 like yours and because I find it too big for my needs, I was considering getting the MK3 37.
    As explained in your video, there are lots of new features and better integration in the MK3, however I would have no faders with the 37…
    Since I am new to ableton, I am not sure how much am I going to miss the faders of the 49 MK2 (currently, i use them with the iPad only for volume control). Can I get a smooth workflow without them ?
    Any advice is appreciated!

    an amazing video.. saved me from getting now the mk2 as the mk3 is now available..but I have some questions.
    When the mk3 keyboard is in custom incontrol mode can you still use the transport buttons?
    and can you map the faders to midi cc?

    • @musicproductionforwomen
      @musicproductionforwomen  4 года назад

      Glad it was useful! The MK3 doesn't have a specific "InControl Mode" like the MK2 but essentially has pages of custom/programmable modes for the pads, the faders and the pots. Yep Faders can be mapped to midi cc and transport functions will not change in the custom modes. Hope that helps :)

    Is the Transpose option available in the MK3 version or not?

  • @FaisalGholam
    @FaisalGholam Год назад

    Regarding the pressure of the transbus under the pressure of the octave, it is in the second version, but it is not available in the third version or the term has been changed, please use as soon as possible.

    Hi, I'm wondering about the UNDO button. Does this work exactly like hitting CTRL-Z (undo) on my computer keyboard at all times when working with Ableton Live? Or do you have to be in a special mode for it to work? I see you used it once in the dot dot dot mode, and again after using midi capture. Just want to know if it works regardless of what you want to undo. I play live and always wanted a dedicated UNDO button on one of my controllers

    • @musicproductionforwomen
      @musicproductionforwomen  4 года назад

      Yep works exactly like Ctrl-Z so you don't need to be on a specific scene or anything :)

    • @musicproductionforwomen
      @musicproductionforwomen  4 года назад +1

      Hey! Depends on your needs really. I'm an Ableton user so strong integration with Ableton is a big plus for me which I know the Novation products have. As I understand it's cheaper than the AKAI series and I liked the quality more than the M-Audio series, but this has a new XY pad thing which looks interesting :) anyway hope that helps!

    Could you please tell me how to use the Pad's Polyphonic Aftertouch of the Novation Launchkey Mk3? Channel aftertouch is working with Ableton Live but could you please tell me how to use the Pad's Polyphonic Aftertouch? I'm using Novation Launchkey 61 MK3.

    • @garretthartshorn5473
      @garretthartshorn5473 3 года назад

      Ableton Live 10 may not support polyphonic aftertouch (through MIDI), however Live 11 likely will. Ableton Live 10 and every DAW before has not had support for Polyphonic Expression in MIDI. Polyphonic aftertouch may be Polyphonic equivalent of Monophonic aftertouch (or channel aftertouch). Live 11 will support full polyphonic expression, so grab a trial of live 11 and test it out :)
