This is awesome. Their story resonates with me. My dad was a kid in the '50s and always said he wanted to be a pilot. No one except his father thought he could do it. He did it! He retired from United as a captain of 777. My dad's my hero. He did what he wanted despite all of the odds. Congrats, Cal and Thomas.
Cal only stayed retired for 6 months and then became a simulator instructor for Delta. I had the honor of being taught by him just a few days ago. He hasn't skipped a beat.

this brought tears to my eyes. i always wanted to be a pilot. delta was my favorite because we always took delta to georgia for family reunions. i started flyimg lessons 13 years ago and still working on my license but 2 friends i made along the way are flying as delta pilots. i hope to join them soon.

I’m a commercial pilot today, preparing for my instructor certificate and I’m 41 years old. I should’ve never waited so long to do this. Anyhow, for all you youngsters out there, don’t wait to get started. You can do this!
Thank you for the inspiration…I have about 69 flight hours and basically hit a financial snag…I’m currently a school bus operator in Pennsylvania…once I recover I plan to resume at the same age of 41

And this is why I was a proud Delta employee! I’m enjoying retirement but I do miss the people that I worked with though I’m sure a lot of them are retired now! Delta is a very good company to work for!!

Cal's a great guy. He gave me a couple of check rides, and I flew with him to JNB once. Cal is someone who experienced real prejudice in his life time, but Cal was not the type whho would accept the victim psychology that the woke far-left would want him to have. Great job Cal!
I don’t know if anyone will answer but does anyone know what plane you’ll start out flying at delta if you have already been in the military?? If you already a good pilot with lots of flight hours would you start out on something like the B-737 or can you start out on something like the B-767??
Yes you can do it if you are given a Opportunity to do so...as long as you have a brain that GOD gave you and the Interest you can learn just about anything & do it . Good Luck youngster Pilot & Go Delta Airlines.

Great video. When I started working at Delta as a young man in 1998, I met and worked for Billy Tyler. Mr. Tyler continues to be the most influencential person in my life today. While my time at Delta ended many years ago and I have moved on to a different industry, not a day goes by that I don't think of Mr. Tyler and the things he taught and shared with me that has made me a better person. God bless him.
