Ive never played Iracing but i find not engaging the ABS in ACC is faster.....Yes you can slam on the brake but many people are using 1 or 2 ABS settings which will allow you to lock up the tires. Especially if they are cold.
The biggest thing in ACC is "CORE" tire temperature.. You can have your PSI perfect but if the "CORE" tire temperature is too low you're losing a ton of grip and braking performance!
When you get that CORE tire temperature perfect in ACC the cars drive amazingly! Most people dont realize their tires core temps are too cold this costing them lap times!
Having the core temperature just right can make a full second per lap difference using identical inputs!
Hungaring, Valencia, Barcelona, Spa, and Weather tech are prime examples!
I used to struggle at Weather Tech on the first half of the track. Once i got my core temps right i was down in the low 1:22's. But if the core temperature isnt right its easy to drop to the 1:23.5-1:24
Both Barcelona and Hungaring are the same way. Tire temps Right 1:43's comfortablely. Wrong 1:44's
Valencia is another one. So much relies on corner exit. In order to do 1:30 consistently the tires must be in the window...Outside the window and its 1:31-1:31.8. that extra tire slip kills lap times.. Paul Richard 3rd sector is like that too! If you wanna get down to the 1:53's or better the core temperatures much be right.
Even with the broken Physics model the ACC tire model is pretty good! Especially when the track is greasy or green!
Thats another thing no one really seems to take advantage of! Starting races at green for free practice into Qualifying and working up to optimal. Green and optimal can easily be two seconds different per lap..

  • @DCFHazardRebornChannel
    @DCFHazardRebornChannel 3 месяца назад

Yeah this is the conclusion I came to as well, ACC was modelled using much more sophisticated ABS system and I would argue has an earlier cutoff one could say to the breaking maximum.
However I don't know how true the whole breaking 100% even into a turn is with ACC. I hear this a lot, and playing extensively ACC (I like iracing but I downright disagree with their monetization practice) breaking that much in ACC will definitely cause understeer. Maybe depends on the car? But even most track guides explicitly tell you to only break 100% in a straight line and then trail break through the turn.
Again probably depends on car but from my experience 100% breaking into turning in ACC is a big no no and a great way to damage your lap times. Was just doing a few online races yesterday again on Red Bull ring.... can't recall a single turn where breaking 100% is ok. I think this notion is well exaggerated by mostly people that don't play ACC as much.
But yeah, it is definitely modelled after very sophisticated ABS systems. You can barely lock the wheels even when trying to.
The result is that turning with your feet in iRacing is much more sensitive and I would argue at times satisfying in a different way. You can really see how much the car turns with slight wheel inputs and pressing the break in iRacing much more which is awesome.
Both are very satisfying in their own way. And end of the day, what a time to be alive. Best we had back in the day was Gran Turismo 2. Now we have such great simracing options we are sitting here analysing the difference between details such as this. This is a huge win for sim racing all around.

the real main diference between the two is that ACC is newer and is easily more enjoyable in casual scenario with a smaller competitive scene where iracing demands a lot of time and comitment to learn its UI, rules, ranking system, and specially the races wich are time locked by the hour, wich makes it a much better competitive game IMO, but if you just want to enter a lobby and race for 20 min or so without any comitments with some randoms its not that great, its a awesome competitive simulator, but its not meant for everyone, i myself can only play the actual races once a week because of time constraints wich make it a bit harder on me since the tracks changes every week, while acc i can play online basically everyday since it takes much less time and i can leave when i want. both are extremely enjoyable simulators, but time is a big deterrance for iracing.
its obvious that if you want a competitive game where you can improve and battle the best drivers in the world with a ranking system them iracing is the best, but it does not make acc a bad simulator, both have their pros and cons, its just that iracing has by far the best matchmaking, tournaments, and servers for any "pro level" simulator.

Professional GT3 drivers do no mash the brake and rely on ABS. They threshold brake. The fast ones do anyway. Any winning GT3 driver will tell you even with how good the abs systems are, you will always be faster if you learn to threshold and never allow tires to reach the point if lockup. ACC is fun to play. But is absolutely not realistic in that sense at all. And even in acc, if you turn abs way down or off, and threshold brake, you can be faster.
