@@T1mischiefhe missed a lot of things. He says this is the most major difference. When for me it’s slip physics. In ACC you can lock up or blow a corner and keep racing. In iRacing you slide on ice for 10 miles before you lose any speed by slamming into a wall or spin like a top. It’s a good sim when you have grip. But one of the WORST sims when you lose it. Accept on open wheel
Yeah that's what I was thinking as well, slamming the brake pedals with the ABS at like 1-2 or 3 makes you lock up sometimes It's way better to just trailbrake and don't rely too much on ABS (or maybe I'm doing something wrong but it works better for me)
I personally enjoy IRacing. It’s the best simulator in my opinon and if you have a job then I have no complaints about it. It shouldn’t spark a argument between sim racers globally. I don’t understand why can’t we just all enjoy our sims and get on with life. 😂😭
Having gone from ACC to a Ferrari challenge, my driving style and adaptation were fine IRL. I do think that knowing about threshold braking rounds out any issues the sim doesn’t cover though.
Ive never played Iracing but i find not engaging the ABS in ACC is faster.....Yes you can slam on the brake but many people are using 1 or 2 ABS settings which will allow you to lock up the tires. Especially if they are cold. The biggest thing in ACC is "CORE" tire temperature.. You can have your PSI perfect but if the "CORE" tire temperature is too low you're losing a ton of grip and braking performance! When you get that CORE tire temperature perfect in ACC the cars drive amazingly! Most people dont realize their tires core temps are too cold this costing them lap times! Having the core temperature just right can make a full second per lap difference using identical inputs! Hungaring, Valencia, Barcelona, Spa, and Weather tech are prime examples! I used to struggle at Weather Tech on the first half of the track. Once i got my core temps right i was down in the low 1:22's. But if the core temperature isnt right its easy to drop to the 1:23.5-1:24 Both Barcelona and Hungaring are the same way. Tire temps Right 1:43's comfortablely. Wrong 1:44's Valencia is another one. So much relies on corner exit. In order to do 1:30 consistently the tires must be in the window...Outside the window and its 1:31-1:31.8. that extra tire slip kills lap times.. Paul Richard 3rd sector is like that too! If you wanna get down to the 1:53's or better the core temperatures much be right. Even with the broken Physics model the ACC tire model is pretty good! Especially when the track is greasy or green! Thats another thing no one really seems to take advantage of! Starting races at green for free practice into Qualifying and working up to optimal. Green and optimal can easily be two seconds different per lap..
VERY good points except that if you want to get better ar driving... you SHOULD try to brake hard without ABS now and then, and especially with different vehicle configurations
It makes sense cause ACC got GT3's. Iracing I love too but that monthly sub kinda annoyed me. Not forgetting that you have to buy the tracks and cars you want.
I always drive with tc and abs turned off anyway. Sure abs will allow you to 100% brake without lockup but its slower than just braking at the correct threshold. Abs also makes it difficult to learn what that threshold is.
Fact is, good abs is always faster if you drive it properly, electronics here is better than the best human by far + allows for unequal braking force left and right tyres which is impossible without the abs -> more grip available for braking. So it's modelled in AC the way it's supposed to be. Fun factor and learning-wise of course no aids is the best.
@@daggerfighter ahem... First i completely agree with what you stated but one thing i need to say You can have unequal brake force without ABS and thats called 2 brake pedals and I know it exists, some Hillclimb cars here in Germany have such crazy things
GT7 isn’t meant to be a super realistic simulator. They have to make it somewhat accessible for “bad drivers” so it can sell. It’s Sony’s flagship racing title
gt7 is meant to be more accesible the original physics model for when gt first came out was made with years of researsch and was too realistic so since then they have been toning the realism down to make it easeier for controller players and just bad drivers
For real. . . It's so annoying how stiff the cars are and how they don't turn under deceleration. You're supposed to get MORE steering when you free up the tyres from braking and accelerating, not understeer off the F'in track.
I have both and play ACC more because the physics are more realistic in GT racing to real life racing. IRacing hasn’t quite hit that sweet spot for me though in a huge nascar guy on IRacing. When AC Evo drops, I’m hoping it shuts all competition down.
This is whats definitely making me slow in iracing, with most of my hours in ACC. Im not used to the not 100% breaking. Causing me to look up,starting out, and now just overall slower now that im getting used to it.
I love your videos and have learned and watched a lot, but when I play Assetto Corsa the wheels lock up very easily if you do 100%. Is it because I’m not doing competicione? I have had to learn trail breaking and brake pressure especially in the Tattus because it will lock up like expected.
ACC and AC are completely different games. ACC has different physics and is based almost exclusively on GT cars. AC has all types of cars, especially when modded. AC also has older cars that don't have ABS or only very light ABS. Smashing the brake can and will lock up your brakes in AC or lead to understeer if done improperly
There is no such thing as "100% braking" in a real system. so I wouldn't really look at pedal inputs too much unless you know what line pressures and wheel torques the sim is outputting.
Thank YOU! That's exactly what I noticed right away when ACC was released years back. Now ACC is the only sim I take seriously and spent most of my simracing hours.
@hamzterix but its not realistic. Irl you go into abs then come out instantly and fine tune the last bit of pressure. Your just used to playing a game not a real sim so it have game traits. Take the training wheels off and come over to IR

Is this a new thing with the modeling? I started on iracing back in 2010/2011 and i would hit 100% in the old Star Mazda and then trail it off effectively. No lock ups.
you can still do that on some cars, its just that if you hit that ABS threshold (80%+), you are gonna massively overheat the tires and will be very slow for that corner even if you don't lock up the tires.
You guys brake at 100% without trailbraking in ACC ? I thought you were suppose to avoid triggering the ABS as much as you can I mean, I honestly don't know and I'm far from being fast but I always brake way faster by doing this than slamming the brake pedal without gauging anything
I've found out that braking 100% in ACC is not really the best way, when you hit the abs you increase the braking distance by around 10-20m, but when you modulate and don't activate the abs you can brake a lot later
Even in the older AC i notice that if Im more aggressive with my breaking in GT3 cars its not the same and I always lock up my rears. Similar setups Ive chocked it up to poor ABS in the old games because once I stopped slamming down to 100% it stops

Not one acc video or my personal experience reflects what is said in this video at all, if you don’t trail brake you don’t go fast….period. Try that 100 -0 and you spin in acc
That's why Iracing is so challenging and really a pain in the butt to drive on the limit, because 99% of people drive real sport cars or cars with ABS that do not act in this manner. Probably why AMS2 and ACC is so popular over Iracing.
I watched the replay of a guy who passed me easily in ACC and asked him how he was able to brake this late. He told me dont trigger the ABS, so in a sense ACC is the same as IRacing in this regard.
Yeah this is the conclusion I came to as well, ACC was modelled using much more sophisticated ABS system and I would argue has an earlier cutoff one could say to the breaking maximum. However I don't know how true the whole breaking 100% even into a turn is with ACC. I hear this a lot, and playing extensively ACC (I like iracing but I downright disagree with their monetization practice) breaking that much in ACC will definitely cause understeer. Maybe depends on the car? But even most track guides explicitly tell you to only break 100% in a straight line and then trail break through the turn. Again probably depends on car but from my experience 100% breaking into turning in ACC is a big no no and a great way to damage your lap times. Was just doing a few online races yesterday again on Red Bull ring.... can't recall a single turn where breaking 100% is ok. I think this notion is well exaggerated by mostly people that don't play ACC as much. But yeah, it is definitely modelled after very sophisticated ABS systems. You can barely lock the wheels even when trying to. The result is that turning with your feet in iRacing is much more sensitive and I would argue at times satisfying in a different way. You can really see how much the car turns with slight wheel inputs and pressing the break in iRacing much more which is awesome. Both are very satisfying in their own way. And end of the day, what a time to be alive. Best we had back in the day was Gran Turismo 2. Now we have such great simracing options we are sitting here analysing the difference between details such as this. This is a huge win for sim racing all around.
Assetto should really come out with a free roam map that you can drive any car on while also having their racing sim mode, it’s a little hassle having to download all these mods, but I mean it’s still fun
So what you are saying is that acc, which is a gt3 simulator and only a gt3 simulator (to my knowledge), simulates modern gt3 cars the way that they are irl and is closer than iracing for modern gt3 cars, and that iracing, which is a motorsport simulator for pretty much all kinds of motorsport, is realistic but not always perfectly accurate to the specific car
Suellio, I tried to outbreak someone off the straight in MX5 this week Virginia North turn 1. I had to purchase some stopping power by downshiftiwoth my breaking just before lockup. It was all too much and I blew my engine lol.. I didn't know I could do that lol
Well.. since gt3 cars use abs it's kinda normal to have it, on assetto corsa there are cars without it. +You can set abs 0 and you will block if you brake too hard
Normal assetto corsa has like a grand total of 10 US servers with active players in them, and 90% of them are drift maps/cars, and the other 2 or 3 servers are mazda mx5 cup cars full of racing arcade drivers that think the entire point of racing is to ram every single other car off the track at any and every chance they get. It's an amazing game that would be infinitely better if there was actually some legit racing going on. It seems like the only servers with serious drivers are in Europe and have 200+ ping. I'm about to have to give in to iracing cause AC is unplayable
Hopefull when AC2 comes out they'll have some sort of ranked multiplayer system that will compete with iracing. We need more competition to iracing so maybe they'll stop charging an arm and a leg
then theres me that never wants to brake 100%... i love to keep it 30-80% and always try to not lock it up. but im having to very much push myself beyond my comfy limit to even get good at driving these cars in general. (i suck at competitive racing)
the real main diference between the two is that ACC is newer and is easily more enjoyable in casual scenario with a smaller competitive scene where iracing demands a lot of time and comitment to learn its UI, rules, ranking system, and specially the races wich are time locked by the hour, wich makes it a much better competitive game IMO, but if you just want to enter a lobby and race for 20 min or so without any comitments with some randoms its not that great, its a awesome competitive simulator, but its not meant for everyone, i myself can only play the actual races once a week because of time constraints wich make it a bit harder on me since the tracks changes every week, while acc i can play online basically everyday since it takes much less time and i can leave when i want. both are extremely enjoyable simulators, but time is a big deterrance for iracing. its obvious that if you want a competitive game where you can improve and battle the best drivers in the world with a ranking system them iracing is the best, but it does not make acc a bad simulator, both have their pros and cons, its just that iracing has by far the best matchmaking, tournaments, and servers for any "pro level" simulator.

What is 100% in real life if theres any? I see this as pressure applied to brakes(how much muscle) are pushing instead of looking at the telemetry. Both sims you can push same force(kilos) but interpreted in different way(telemetry). 80% brake in iracing is 100% in acc but same kilo(kg) applied in the pedals. Eg myself 55kg of pressure for both sims.
Professional GT3 drivers do no mash the brake and rely on ABS. They threshold brake. The fast ones do anyway. Any winning GT3 driver will tell you even with how good the abs systems are, you will always be faster if you learn to threshold and never allow tires to reach the point if lockup. ACC is fun to play. But is absolutely not realistic in that sense at all. And even in acc, if you turn abs way down or off, and threshold brake, you can be faster.
Iracing was on a scheduled downtime so I tried ACC. I literally felt I was at the kids table. My 4 corner system, and pedal feedback system were a complete mess, my simucube pro felt like a Logitech wheel and the ACC VR graphics were so bad in comparison to iRacing VR. Not according with that. Acc wants you to brake at 100% but if you're playing it realistically, you will always lock up your wheels when braking in acc. And, you are more efficient in acc braking like in I racing.
@@T1mischief true but its too hard.
Not to mention you'll cause a flatspot in ACC by locking the wheels and not hard to do with ABS off.
You had to give it away didn't you?
Yeah that's what I was thinking as well, slamming the brake pedals with the ABS at like 1-2 or 3 makes you lock up sometimes
It's way better to just trailbrake and don't rely too much on ABS (or maybe I'm doing something wrong but it works better for me)
I personally enjoy IRacing. It’s the best simulator in my opinon and if you have a job then I have no complaints about it. It shouldn’t spark a argument between sim racers globally. I don’t understand why can’t we just all enjoy our sims and get on with life. 😂😭
100% agree, I prefer iracing too
GT3 cars want you to make full use of the ABS system in order to go faster that's why it's realistic
But if the core temperature isnt right its easy to drop to the 1:23.5-1:24
Both Barcelona and Hungaring are the same way. Tire temps Right 1:43's comfortablely. Wrong 1:44's
Valencia is another one.
Acc is also a game based on said gt3 cars with amazing abs systems
It makes sense cause ACC got GT3's.
Iracing I love too but that monthly sub kinda annoyed me. Not forgetting that you have to buy the tracks and cars you want.
I always drive with tc and abs turned off anyway. Sure abs will allow you to 100% brake without lockup but its slower than just braking at the correct threshold. Abs also makes it difficult to learn what that threshold is.
yes, i neva use ABS or TC either. i hate it
Fact is, good abs is always faster if you drive it properly, electronics here is better than the best human by far + allows for unequal braking force left and right tyres which is impossible without the abs -> more grip available for braking. So it's modelled in AC the way it's supposed to be. Fun factor and learning-wise of course no aids is the best.
@@daggerfighter it maybe 'faster', not always, + u need to know n 'always' check da performance without it, cuz if u dont, u missing mo
@@daggerfighter ahem...
First i completely agree with what you stated but one thing i need to say
You can have unequal brake force without ABS and thats called 2 brake pedals and I know it exists, some Hillclimb cars here in Germany have such crazy things
Yeah, talking about normal cars of course@@supmo68
Someone needs to show gt7 creator about balancing with weight transfer.
Gt7 dont enter this world, they are for boys
Gt7 is arcade
GT saga realism died in GT6
Okay this clears a lot up, i thought putting full pressure in acc would slow you down, good to know i can still do it and keep going fast.
@brummiedeano7703 You must be a Pro. I've been a member of iRacing (ice-Racing) since 2009. I also own the original AC, ACC, rF2, Automobilista2 , RaceRoom, etc... Every sim has couple flaws, it's up to people to choose which one they wanna tolerate.
@Simlife101 lmaoooooooooo this is funny. Telling him to take the training wheels off and come over to a real sim. How is that rain going over in Iracing? Such a realistic simulator without one major pattern of weather
@@Simlife101 Here comes the snob elitist, ACC allows you to change the brake pressure, allowing one to brake at 100% without hitting the 100% brake pressure or, if you want, even without hitting the ABS system, the reason why iRacing won´t release another updated engine that can do way more is cause of elitists like you that can´t criticize what they buy and justify it with insults to the competition while selling a kidney to buy all the content...i bet the next insult is that ppl that don´t play it are all poor and don´t have the means.
@@connorhind8907
That's because you don't race in the rain. . . at best, you'll race if the rain is light, if it's any more than that, you're not racing unless you like crashing.
And also a kidney for iracing 😂😂
@layerballoonswe so your kidneys sell for less than $1500 thats what the content costs for everything amd thats without the 20% over a certain amount of content. Ive been driving iracing for 6 years and only spent about £500 on content.
@@Simlife101”only £500”😂😂
@@jameswhiting3543much cheaper than a real weekend of even practice. And after putting tons of hours into all the different Sims. Iracing is the most competitive especially when u get through the lower splits. It becomes amazingly competitive compared to others. League racing is the only way to play ACC or AC with that type of fun which is fine too 😊
wont reach 100$ even if you buy all the dlc.
@@Simlife101 no one can afford that much for a game
Is this a new thing with the modeling? I started on iracing back in 2010/2011 and i would hit 100% in the old Star Mazda and then trail it off effectively. No lock ups.
you can still do that on some cars, its just that if you hit that ABS threshold (80%+), you are gonna massively overheat the tires and will be very slow for that corner even if you don't lock up the tires.
How about braking in Raceroom compared to ACC and iRacing?
Wait so a sim for modern gt car has exactly what modern gt cars have?
If you turn off ABS or have low settings in ACC and break 100% into a corner you won’t be fast. Another big difference is the tyre model..
It's spelled tire.
@@JTheraos not in British English
So is acc more realistic on braking for gt3 cars? And then iracing is more focused on it’s braking physics for downforce and cup cars with no abs?
what is more realistic with ABS? ACC or iR braking?
So does it mean that I should turn off ABS in ACC if I want to grow a more realistic approach for breaking?
Noooo!! Gt3 cars have abs and tracion control, it is normal to use it
You guys brake at 100% without trailbraking in ACC ? I thought you were suppose to avoid triggering the ABS as much as you can
I mean, I honestly don't know and I'm far from being fast but I always brake way faster by doing this than slamming the brake pedal without gauging anything
Instructions unclear, going to hospital
And what about GT4 and GT2 in ACC? there are other physics to look at
@SuellioAlmeida Question then: how does braking in ACC without ABS compare to iRacing?
I've found out that braking 100% in ACC is not really the best way, when you hit the abs you increase the braking distance by around 10-20m, but when you modulate and don't activate the abs you can brake a lot later
So which one is realistic in terms of GT3? I would say its ACC from in regards of you clip.
Acc is a gt3 Sim so why wouldn't they brake like gt3 abs systems?
Hahahaha that’s exactly what I say. 100% brake pressure every corner is not realistic at all
Even in the older AC i notice that if Im more aggressive with my breaking in GT3 cars its not the same and I always lock up my rears. Similar setups Ive chocked it up to poor ABS in the old games because once I stopped slamming down to 100% it stops
I mean doesnt gt3 and gt4 series have abs and traction control? If so, i mean thats the cars spec. Makes sense. With iracing you have varieties of many different racing series that doesnt use assists like abs and traction control
Some dude really said: "Well, iRacing is expensive, but if you think about it it's way cheaper than if you owned a real race car and took it out for track days."💀yeah nice logic
Yeah, because it is 😂
@@trevor4533 yeah but that still doesnt take away the fact that Iracing takes away your kidney for some league Racing and racing some "cars" on a screen
@@supmo68 Sure, if you want to race literally every single car and track, it is obviously quite expensive compared to ACC. Buy the yearly black Friday renewal deal(which by the way is live right now), cars and tracks in bundles for a discount, and get your participation credits, and it can be quite manageable for anyone with a job.
Try braking like you would do in a GT3 but do it in a BMW M2 CS in ACC. And you will find out that the braking is different depending on what car type you are driving.
Not one acc video or my personal experience reflects what is said in this video at all, if you don’t trail brake you don’t go fast….period. Try that 100 -0 and you spin in acc
I lock up in abs, and im 0.5 from aliens
Is there a big physic difference between AC and AC competizione ?
Yes
Its almost like ACC is simulating a modern gr3 😮
So that leads me to ask, which one more realistic? Or they both equal in opposite direction?
They definately both have strengths and weaknesses, but iRacing has much more variety and better physics overall.
So, Iceracing GT3 cars are not real simulate?
Assetto should really come out with a free roam map that you can drive any car on while also having their racing sim mode, it’s a little hassle having to download all these mods, but I mean it’s still fun
acc : 15$
iRacing : your whole life savings
Acc is not ac. Ac is 10-15 dollars. Acc is 40.
Bought ACC, play it with mouse and keyboard is my new way to training endurance for pain
Is this comparing the same cars though? If ACC's ABS for GT3 is accurate then does that mean iRacing's is not?? I've only played ACC so I cant compare
Difference between Iracing and Rfactor2?
Hey Man, i really enjoy ur content, may u give us a bit of tips for the upcoming nordschleife 24 hours to get a better laptime
Cheers
Well.. since gt3 cars use abs it's kinda normal to have it, on assetto corsa there are cars without it. +You can set abs 0 and you will block if you brake too hard
Biggest difference is the price.
So it’s better to turn abs to 12 or change the break pressure to 50%
Assetto corsa (the normal one) feels like its more popular than acc
How shoudl you breka in normal assetto corsa
Acc vs IR vs Gt7 wich simulates driving nearest to reallife driving and wich one makes most fun for just driving. Lets stay on gt cars
Whag about threshold braking 🤔 I use it in ACC which isn't always optimal but its very consistent.
What about GT7? Because that has an ABS setting on/off
The one thing I've noticed is the cars look far slower on iRacing than ACC. You can coast into corners and still be fast
But you also can't feel the abs system in your brake pedal like you can in real life cars so why would acc makes it better for ease of use
so what is the issue? acc is focused on gt3? so what is your point??
He never said there was an issue.. the title is literally "acc and Iracing MAIN DIFFERENCE". Differences aren't inherently a bad thing.
Gt3 cars use ABS as a tyre managment tool. So this is very accurate to real life
iracing is superior in most levels, but ACC has it's gems. Even RaceRoom kills it with their shifts (you feel it in the wheel)
then theres me that never wants to brake 100%... i love to keep it 30-80% and always try to not lock it up. but im having to very much push myself beyond my comfy limit to even get good at driving these cars in general. (i suck at competitive racing)
However, high Downforce cars do allow very heavy initial brake application but you have to bleed off the pressure as the grip/DF reduces.
Does asseto corsa standard work the same as acc?
But which one do you think is better Suellio?
That's what we all want to know 😉
the real main diference between the two is that ACC is newer and is easily more enjoyable in casual scenario with a smaller competitive scene where iracing demands a lot of time and comitment to learn its UI, rules, ranking system, and specially the races wich are time locked by the hour, wich makes it a much better competitive game IMO, but if you just want to enter a lobby and race for 20 min or so without any comitments with some randoms its not that great, its a awesome competitive simulator, but its not meant for everyone, i myself can only play the actual races once a week because of time constraints wich make it a bit harder on me since the tracks changes every week, while acc i can play online basically everyday since it takes much less time and i can leave when i want. both are extremely enjoyable simulators, but time is a big deterrance for iracing.
its obvious that if you want a competitive game where you can improve and battle the best drivers in the world with a ranking system them iracing is the best, but it does not make acc a bad simulator, both have their pros and cons, its just that iracing has by far the best matchmaking, tournaments, and servers for any "pro level" simulator.
@@lukasausen I’m new to iRacing so still in rookies, didn’t do any race yet, like you said I’m still learning everything but I put the hours in it and I’m a fast learner. Already know how the cars (GT3/GTE/cup) behave. Coming from 1800h of ACC and with 1.9 update I get FPS drops to 10 fps which is undriveable and the 1.9 update is the cause so I moved to iRacing (can’t do without racing so 😀)
I find ACC the more realistic GT3 sim, Iracing is better on the lower level cars, but it really shines on oval stuff
The biggest difference between iRacing and ACC is that the former has visuals from Gran Turismo 3 and the latter from Gran Turismo 5.
Makes sense honestly cause ACC literally is modern GT3 cars only

Good comparison
Well, idk if this is a good thing, even though I'm new, I recommend other new players to enable the brake assist to make you not lock up
Do you coach people on ACC?
He coaches people on their sim of choice as far as I understand.
idk when I am playing acc I think I never turn on 100% brake because car will not turn it just understeere so idk how much of this is true
is you have assetto corsa go into the car folder and turn up the braking force
It made my 4080 card look like a 3080 card. Iracing does not have amazing graphics but they are smooth and stable. Mirror graphics are so good in iracing VR. Mirror graphics in ACC were so mid. I won’t delete ACC because I would like to have something to do in case I want to race during an iRacing scheduled downtime. Even if it is something as bad as ACC. ACC makes me appreciate a proper sim like iRacing
Ah, so just like New Star GP xD
I like that game, very fun
I use regular ac, do u guys know how to improve the graphics? Mine are really dated
use mods
and you don't mention that in ACC that the wheels DO lock up if your abs is too low or off.... same in iracing..
