Thank you for your help really appreciate, i have got 15.1 on 2014 pro. I think its going great except for bluetooth and mirroring all other is smooth and great
I just installed today, November 5, 2024, the new version of OpenCore 2.1.1 on two of my computers, the first a MacBook Pro 2017, once after updating the application it restarted and did not come back to life, it stayed in the apple and It damaged the operating system that I had to install Ventura on. In the second one, a 2015 MacBook Pro did grab and restart fine, but all the applications no longer worked until files were deleted, the Sequoia system stopped working altogether. I wanted to install open Core again in 2017 and I get a kind of error that makes me install the patches but when I restart the computer and enter the application again, it again asks me to install patches, and I did it like 10 times and never I was able to use the program as such, however in 2015 the open Core program no longer opened. In summary, it seems that this latest update is killing the equipment, I recommend not updating the application at least until it is known what is happening. I think it is a mistake in the latest version. If you have a solution and this happened to you, could you help me?
Hello, first I want to congratulate you on your videos. I’ve been able to update my 15” MacBook Pro A1398 (early 2013). However, I have a few questions. You mentioned that you can use Photoshop and edit your videos on the device. But for me, when I use Photoshop, it runs very slowly, and in the performance settings, the graphics usage is disabled with a message that says: “An error was found with the graphics driver.” Similarly, I feel that when editing videos, the playback isn’t as smooth. I’ve already installed drivers with OpenCore. What do you think I should do? I currently have macOS 15.1. Thanks!
Hello @Anson Alexander, I have installed macOS Sonoma on my MacBook Pro mid 2015 and it runs great but I have a update to 15.1 in the system settings and want to ask you if you find it good to do it because of the security patches. Should I follow the same procedure as installing Sonoma the first time with a USB drive and erasing the SSD and then make a clean install of 15.1 ? Thank you for your videos and keep up the great work :D
I would use the USB method but I wouldn’t worry about doing a clean install, just backup files you don’t want to lose and install 15.1 right on top of 15.
I used your way to install Ventura on my 2012 Mac mini. Thank you so much. One follow up question, now in the Software update, it tells me I can upgrade to Sequoia. Is there any problem to do that?
@Jamesstrength5405 I have the same machine. Did you need a wired mouse? I'm have issues after restarting as my magic mouse isn't responding after I update the patcher and restart?
I actually tried for 2 hours for this update (since I didn't have a flash drive). You can even see in the video 15.1 wasn't even showing up - although it did on certain restarts and didn't on others. At the end of the day, I wish I had just done the method I showed in the video to begin with and I would have spent a lot more time on the update. If it worked for you though, that's great. I'll certainly give it another shot when 15.2 comes out. :D

Hello Anson, Thank you so much for your video for OS 15.1. I understand it might be not directly related to this video due to my workhorse needs to stay with OS 14 Sonoma for running Logic Pro. May I still have your advice on how to update my MacOS from existing 14.6.1 to the latest one 14.7.2 which I just checked and found it's available from OCLP today to download the installer (even Apple seems only officially offer 14.7.1, not 14.7.2). Regarding security, I think I should update my Mac to 14.7.2 but I wonder if I should download the installer from OCLP and install it via a USB drive or just updating it via the System Settings ? For former approach, do I need to also download the KDK first since last time when updating the OS from 14.5 to 14.6.1, my mac was stuck at the last stage and staying in the black screen. It took me 3 days to find the solutions (i.e. the KDK patcher). So I am a bit of worry this time. Sorry for asking this and would like to have your advice before the move. Many thanks and have a great trip in Brazil !
