Great video, Milo. Lately, I've been seeing other golf coaches talk about casting. Some say that casting happens when you lose the the angle at the very beginning of your downswing, not halfway down. They used Steve Stricker's swing to show how he so-called "casts" the club, but he's still has an exemplary swing. (For long-distance hitters, see Joe Miller. He loses all of his angles around 3/4 of the way down. Same with Jason Zuback.) These coaches are not huge fans of over-lagging and trying to time it all at impact. In other words, don't cast at the beginning of the downswing, but also don't think you have to have this monster lag (as some coaches call it). There is a finely-tuned balance in the middle of those two extremes. Also, baseball analogies are great to show how batters retain angles, HOWEVER, remember that their target (from the left field out of bounds line to the right field out of bounds line) actually INCREASES in width the further you hit the ball, whereas a golfer's target shortens in width.
We'll be posting some more driver videos soon. Same swing more or less, but setup and ball position produce the alignments for a different strike. We have a more in-depth guide on my website, milolinesgolf.com.
I cast a 3 wood yesterday off the tee on 10, that hit the ground so far behind the ball, people finishing on nine and coming up the second came over and admired to damage in relation to the tee that was still in the ground. There was talk that it might have been a record, photos were taken and a measure measurement of 21cm or 8.25 inches was taken. The ball went high, right and dead into the scrub where the red bellied black snake, blue bellied black snake, yellow bellied black snake, black snake, and the Eastern Brown Snake all dwell waiting for choppers like me to look for their $8.
That’s exactly what I do,cast ,early release .. and it’s not an easy fix , I’ve recorded my swing trying to get into does positions, all I’ll say is good luck 🤞
Can be a tough fix for sure, but with the right ingredients and practices, I've seen it done by many. We cover this in greater detail on my website where I further layout the steps to swing like an athlete. swinglikeanathlete.com
Shouldn't unless you are leaving the face wide open or pushing the club out causing you to hit it heel side. I cover this more on my website at milolinesgolf.com.
Watch it back and you'll see it wasn't a shank at all. Henry hit it a little skinny with a slightly open face which is very easy to do with The Hanger as we mentioned in the video. Not off the hosel. Unlike other RUclips channels who may edit out that segment we left it in to show learning speed and it's ok to not hit drill shots perfectly. Thanks for watching Robin.
@MiloLinesGolf i am sorry to tell you the same, watch it back, that is a pure toe shank, and yes i get it, it is just a drill, it was just a little bit funny😁
It's time you got rid of that nasty cast!

Right, it can always be overdone just like anything. At the end of the day though, most I coach suffer from casting and little to no angle.
and another instant classic !
Thanks as always for your feedback sir!
Same video, but with driver would be great!!!

It's all driven by improper intention and a fundamental misunderstanding of how the golf club works.
Back that handle up and chuck the clubhead, haha!
@@MiloLinesGolf I think the golf club just might be the most misunderstood tool in all of sports.
Wouldn't this cause a SLICE or SHANK ?

12 minutes of info just to get demonstration of a shank😂
