    Given the ridiculous price of Lego kits, it probably would have been cheaper just to buy the real thing.

      I think its all in the price of steel and dont u need other cranes to assemble it so more cost but who can put a price on family fun putting together that lol

      Wenn man bedenkt das ein original ein paar Millionen € kostet, dann sind die 4-5k € (geschätzt) ein Schnäppchen.
      Sicher wird es solch ein beeindruckendes technik Set vom dänischen klemmbaustein Hersteller niemals geben.
      Ein Hoch auf die MOCer und Respekt für diese Leistung.

    Really amazing!
    One of the best LEGO builts I've ever seen.
    It's hard to believe that the parts don't break especially in the other video of that beast lifting a chair.

    Nice job!! Great idea as well on picking up the cell phone to get an aerial view!! Have a diecast metal Liebherr LR 11000 but haven't had the time yet to get it assembled. Now you've got me motivated.

    I cannot imagine the tension, the Lego-parts need to withstand.
    I mean sure, it is built after a design, that is made to do exactly that, but the material probably was never intended for this.

    It is amazing how it doesn't need for hydraulic supports to even extend or move very unique

      You mean outriggers? They don't have those on crawler/lattice boom cranes, just rough terrain, and road cranes with a hydraulic boom.

    Hm.... Considering how tough LEGO is... I wonder how long those joints will work. Especially those of pivot points.
    The real sound of this must be nerve wrecking. With all the strain on parts.

      You'll be surprised how strong LEGO is;
      If you take a look at the 'Brick Experiment Channel' you'll see someone testing the extreme limits of LEGO gearing, winches, pulleys ect and overloading parts to the point of failure.

    Omg I want this. I work on cranes and would love to feel the bracing to see the real efforts being placed on the rig.
    Edit: I work on much smaller rigs and they do not have liebherr on them. Lol Grove, p&h, linkbelt.

    Even on a small scale, the mathematical catulations you must process are legitimate. Wouldn't mind working around you as an actual operator. Cool video man.

    Remarkable feat of engineering.
    After having a hand in assembling a crane, it didn't take long to realize that the boom arms are all under compression, and only the cables and guys are under tension.
    It makes for some serious lifting capacity.

    The engineers at liebherr, mus have gone crazy with their cranes.
    besides the fact, that the limits of engineering are beeing pushed here, even in the small scale

      Go from that scale which ever that may well be and do two vids like one going up to the real world scale and the other video goes down to like railway scale that is smaller than 1:15 i think

      @@ryanslut5607 The crane is 1:23.5 according to the builder. And I think you don't realize how big 1:15 is.... Most trains are 1:87 and 1:160, but go even lower.

    So cool. It's just breathtaking. I want it! I would want it even more in regular Lego scale or 1:1 scale! I mean, 7.3 feet would be very impressive already, but 7.3 meters?! That's over 23 feet!!!!!!!
