I have to say, you've got guts. To mix at the legendary and iconic Ryman Auditorium - surrounded by Clair Global gear, as an opener for an international act - on an iPad takes courage, my new friend. Well done!
Proves that it doesn’t matter what the EQ looks like, it’s what it sounds like. iPhones are a great reproduction of what it actually sounded like, regardless of anyone’s puffy-chested dismissal. On a vizio soundbar with “sub” it sounds balanced and full. Nice going!
@@billylaguardia been mixing for 35 years and all my peers are old touring cats and corporate audio lifers. EQ is a “whatever it takes” proposition. Tools like Smaart are great but most audio mixers aren’t cut out to be system techs. I’m sure you’ve found that in many rooms that have been supposedly rung out, you end up EQing even more to get it where you feel it needs to be. But there’s also a tipping point to be aware of, when too much EQ (especially graphic) becomes counterproductive. Many rooms and system configurations are irreconcilable. The best techs I know, though, EQ even from song to song or moment to moment when necessary or just leave it alone sometimes with minor adjustments here or there. Temperature and audience capacity are two factors that determine that as well. Anyways, keep it up and have fun! Best of luck on your endeavors.
@@billylaguardia You're talking about your M32R to DL AES EBU mishap here right ? I'm talking about the length of cable of your current setup, from the M32C at FOH to your stage rack on stage.
EHHMYGOD so much EQQQQ EHHHMYGOD. Sound good mate. Very clean mix actually, surprised. I also mix 90% of my shows on ipad wirelessly with macbook as backup. Works great.

Haha I’ll mix on anything. My little iPad rig has been holding up against the S6L!
With a solid network m32c is great.
Great reminder that a good mix can be accomplished without all the gear. Great stuff!

Thanks for the kind words Ryan! I’m not too worried about the arm chair quarterbacks in the comments section! 😂😂😂

No ethernet cable length limit issue from foh to the stage ?
I mean the "no more than 80 meters" kind of thing.
330’ is the limit for data. I thought that may be the issue too. However it still couldn’t connect with a shorter cable.

@@djabthrash If I understood correctly: the M32C is on stage, the ethernet is just going from the control port to a router at FOH
@@petterrong1590 Alright, but in this case what's connecting the FOH router to the M32C on stage ? Some network cable or just wifi ?
@@djabthrash Probably an ethernet run
Please let us know more detail on that issue with the M32R and the AES50 card!
Not sure what actually happened but the card won’t connect to the stage box. I think it’s a flaw in the build. The issue happened on its first show.
Mix sounds killer btw
Thanks!! 😁😁
Love it.

The fine folks at Sweetwater sent me another one. Im finally back home, I need to get it set up.
make sure to cut every channel 50db from 20htz to 20000htz and smack your lips every 8 seconds 😖
