I found a privately owned ice cream shop where I live that serves two of my favorite shakes - Banana and Strawberry Cheesecake. Their waffle cones are so huge you cannot eat them fast enough before it's melting all over you. So I switched to a waffle cone in a dish with a broken-up waffle cone in it.
Too much information. I just wanted to know if it's real ice cream. The recording went on and on about nothing.

We don't have the huge selection of ice cream stores you have in the US but I prefer Macdonalds ice cream to any other including Hagen Das or Ben and Jerries. It's the best

If you really enjoy the flavor and texture of soft serve in particular, the brand Blue Bunny has a new line of flavors called "Blue Bunny Soft" and the vanilla one tastes exactly like McDonald's/DQ soft serve. They also had a minto chocolate chip flavor and a cookies and cream flavor (two of my top 3 favorite flavors) but I wanted to test out the vanilla first.

I remembered during my 1st year at college, I usually walk one n a half mile back n forth alone just for this saudae cone, then go back once I done. I don't really like McDonald's burger rarely ordering it though, but their oce cream yeah I'm taking it once a weak especially after work at Friday, these small treats keeps my moral at bay 😂, after a hard days work.

I just found out that the soft serve recipe in the Netherlands is: Wheat flour, canola oil, sugar, potatostarch, soy lecithin, milk protein, stabilizers and salt. Like are you kidding me? Basically just wheat and oil 😮
Now McDonald's is getting flack for habitually not cleaning their machines, now it's as much as $1.49 a cone around here, nowhere, USA.
I presume t his only applies when the McDonald's ice cream machine isn't broken.

It tastes good whenever the ice cream machine is works which is rare. A tire rotation and oil change is about the same schedule! Everytime I've gone to my local McDonald's, there always a reason why I can't get ice cream, so I stopped going.Sincr the pandemic, forget about it! While other restaurants have opened for business, they're still strictly slow understaffed drive-thru only! An hour for a meal is ridiculous. Thank God for Wendy's, Baskin-Robbins, and some local ice cream parlors. They need to adopt Chic-Fil-A's drive-thru method.

There is no vanilla here in Aus, it's sweet cream and tastes like sweetened cream. I prefer vanilla. The new choc version should be nice.
The profit on these cones is absolutely tiny, if anything. Factor in the equipment and extra labor, and this whole thing might just be a means of pushing Dairy Queen around. That's interesting, as Warren Buffett has had huge holdings of both of them at various times. Anyway, to me this whole thing is moot: I have not found a McDonald's in the SouthEast that still sells ice cream...

Oh yeah, the frosty at Wendy's is always good! Oh wait, McDonald's? Yeah I've had their stuff a while back in the sundaes and it was no better than anyone else's frozen dairy stuff. Oddly I recently had dairy queen and the blizzard was really good. McDonald's more than anyone seems to have taken advantage of the covid crap, raised their prices and lowered their quality even more. Screw them.
It depends what your perception of good ice cream is.
As a chef, i ate Mc D Ice cream and was very disappointed. But i can ony assume people today no longer know what is good or bad due to the fact they are literally born & raised eating things they are told are good.
Unfortunately the brain excepts this level of programming very quick because humanity are aways seeking something good.

10/17/2023 McDonalds soft serve cone is $2.10 and the Burger King soft serve cone is 50¢. A no brainer. Like everything else on their menu, McDonalds continues the price gouging.

This makes me want to post, that more than 30 years ago, my mom and I were walking, one cloudy day, there was this Mexican woman crying while speaking in Spanish, and eating some ice cream, while this man walked with her. Probably because she lost somebody.

I mess those caramel milk shakes that McDonald’s had out for a few yrs, they were loaded with caramel. Another thing I miss from McDonald’s is the orange milk shakes they had from the 70s till the early 90s, which they brought back on occasion. They called it the Arctic Shake and, they usually put it out during the Christmas season. I was devastated when, our Mr. Frosty quit running around this area yrs ago. No matter if it came down our street in Ohio or at my grandma’s in Indiana, I could here that bell and spot it right away, As soon as I seen it, I would tell my parents or my grandma to hurry he’s coming, I need money. And, I always was first in line, even in the hot summer, I would always end up be first in line, and, it was such a regular thing that one of my neighbors got jealous and pitched a fit to the driver, he’d say, I can’t do anything about that, first come first serve. I remember first just being the soft serve, then, he started adding chocolate covered ants/ sprinkles, then he went from chocolate covered ants to what he called rainbow colored ants, to rainbow sprinkles. I love soft serve ice cream and when, the ice cream truck changed to the Good Humor Truck, it just wasn’t the same and all the soft serve options were really expensive then, so, I was rarely able to get it, it had to be a special treat.
