great content especially for the younger guys with zeds on how to fix things on them, i still have my black JDM 5sp 1990 2+0 in standard factory condition body and trim wise just some wheel spacers on the factory rims with polished lips and fitted a set of 245/50 federal 595 tyres to fill the arches, 2" lowered suspension all round and some nice engine hp mods. now over 20yrs of owning it, the older it gets the better it looks. such a beautiful japanese sports car with a timeless shape being a 2+0
That’s awesome man, definitely hang onto that one in factory condition. That’s a pretty rare thing you have there. 100% agreed it’s a timeless car, they were cool back then and they’re only getting cooler!
I few things left. Famous last words!!! Anyway best of luck with your projects. I’m getting motivated to hemi (04 truck engine) my 1972 Plymouth Valiant. Thx for sharing
Haha true, I feel like it’s something I say that multiple times per project. Good luck on the Hemi swap! If you need any advice just post comments on any of my old Challenger build series videos, I always keep an eye on comments and will answer if I can. Good choice of motor, mine’s and early truck motor too, I think they’re the easiest fitting in old Mopars.
Agreed, those seats made a huge difference. I almost bought some aftermarket seats but got super lucky and found a local “300zx guy” that had these factory ones for a great deal.
Love this series, as a younger guy with a zx I've been watching this and found out that I have a lot of the same problems haha. It's nice to finally see a clear step by step process. Keep up the good work :)
Thanks man, I’ve spent years getting it just the way I like it. I actually had those doors installed custom, I can just BARELY squeeze the 300ZX through into my backyard. Two car garages are definitely a rare thing to have here in southern California, got pretty lucky to find my tiny one.
Sweet fix, oddly my passenger side (non-powered of course) seat sits a little crooked toward the driver side, not nearly as bad as this though. At some point I'll take it out and check what's going on. Instinctively though, I can't imagine a non-powered seat would have up and down adjustment like your seat did. Perhaps the seat frame rail is bent, or worse, there's damage under the seat on the body of the car and it's causing it to sit crooked there?
I’d suspect it would be different too, but definitely pull it out and give it a look. I was surprised how relatively simple it was to fix, even if you have a bent part I bet you could bent it back into shape.
Definitely! I’m actually planning on a track day at a small road course they do time attack racing at. Hoping to do another Challenger vs 300ZX episode there, this time in the 300ZX’s favor!
Hey, I got a question regarding the swap. Did you purchase the bellhousing bolts for the swap or did you use the ones used for the auto? I can’t find anything online if the bolts are the same for the manual and auto.
I took the bolts from the manual donor engine but I seem to remember the bolts being the same more or less. Definitely some of them are, like on the side engine brackets.

I am always learning new things on your channel , thanks
Thank you for sharing this process in detail. Im addicted to this series, this is my dream car.
I always like when I see that you have new content 👍

love how the car is coming together, the black seats were a much needed addition

Thanks man! Glad I can help, and glad to know I'm not the only one haha. Good luck on your project 👍
Loving the series so far! definitely right when you said "take my time" near the end. patience is a virtue when working on 300s, or really any car!
Glad to hear! Yes I'm guilty of replacing parts before trying to troubleshoot the problem, projects like that are a good reminder.
I'm new here, but like, you've gota super cool garage. how i didnt notice the gate entryway. How on earth is this attainable in california lol

What happened to the plenum pull video I was very much looking forward to that😂
I didn't quite have room in this episode, I wanted the whole thing to be in one. Next episode for sure!
@@noboltsleftbehind thank you good sir!😁
So are you going to autocross this bad boy when it's all done?

Great video ,how much do youbpay for those seats? Look very nice
Thanks! I got them for $250

Do you have the link for your new fuel pump?

You should “hide” your channel name kinda like how the adult swim commercials would do
Haha I like it, might have to try that
